Taillon (7-5) allowed a run on four hits and three walks while striking out three over 7.1 innings to take the loss Tuesday versus the Brewers.

It's a harsh way for Taillon's three-start winning streak to end, as he didn't give up a run until the eighth inning. This also counted as his seventh quality start in his last eight outings, though he's been on the hook for a loss in three of them. Taillon has a 2.96 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 78:21 K:BB through 100.1 innings over 17 starts this season. He's projected for a road start in Cincinnati his next time out.

Rea allowed four hits and two walks while striking out eight over five shutout innings in a no-decision versus the Cubs on Tuesday.

Rea returned to a starting role after pitching behind an opener in his last outing before the All-Star break. The right-hander was generally good Tuesday, though he needed 93 pitches (58 strikes) to complete his five frames in a pitching duel against Jameson Taillon. Rea has allowed two runs or fewer in three of his four outings in July, though he also gave up seven runs July 9 versus the Pirates. For the year, he has a 3.60 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 84:33 K:BB over 110 innings through 20 appearances (17 starts). His next outing is projected to be at home versus Atlanta.

Tyler allowed three runs on nine hits and two walks over 4.2 innings in a no-decision Tuesday against Baltimore. He struck out five.

Tyler was lucky to hold the Orioles to just three runs Tuesday -- he benefited from a pair of Baltimore outs on the basepaths in addition to a key double-play ball in the first inning. Still, it took the 27-year-old Tyler a total of 94 pitches to make it through 4.2 frames. Overall, the right-hander has been a solid stop-gap option in an injury-depleted Marlins' rotation -- Tyler hadn't allowed more than two runs or four hits in any of his four outings prior to Tuesday. He's 0-1 with a 3.92 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 15:10 K:BB across 20.2 innings in the majors this year. Tyler's currently lined up to face the Brewers on the road in his next start this weekend.

Criswell (4-4) allowed five hits and a walk while striking out four over seven shutout innings to earn the win Tuesday over the Rockies.

This was Criswell's third scoreless outing of the campaign and his first such effort since April 30. For the second appearance in a row, he enjoyed his longest outing of the year, and it's all the more impressive he was able to navigate Coors Field unscathed. He's now at a 4.02 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 54:16 K:BB through 65 innings over 14 appearances (13 starts) this season. Criswell has likely done enough to earn another start, which is tentatively projected to come next week at home versus light-hitting Seattle.

Blach (3-6) allowed six runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out one over 2.1 innings to take the loss Tuesday versus the Red Sox.

Blach actually ended up pitching the least of the three Rockies who took the hill Tuesday, as his return to the rotation was greeted by Boston's bats. Tyler O'Neill did most of the damage with two home runs. Blach threw 59 pitches (38 strikes) in this outing and may continue to stretch out if he remains in the rotation going forward. He has a 6.13 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 33:14 K:BB through 61.2 innings over 17 appearances (10 starts) this year, finding minimal success irrespective of whether he's served as a starter or reliever.

The Twins will recall Festa from Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

The Twins will use Steven Okert as an opener for Wednesday's series finale against the Phillies, and Festa is expected to work in bulk relief once Okert is removed from the game. Doing so will allow him to avoid facing Kyle Schwarber, Trea Turner and Bryce Harper to begin the game, though Festa's 10.80 ERA in the majors doesn't exactly spark confidence in his ability to handle Philadelphia's high-scoring offense at any point in the contest.

Montgomery (7-5) earned the win Tuesday over the Royals, allowing one run on three hits and a walk while striking out two over five innings.

Montgomery missed nearly a month with right knee inflammation, but he was able to skip a rehab assignment. The southpaw threw 67 pitches (39 strikes) Tuesday and may need to build up over his next couple of starts to get back to a regular workload. In terms of performance, this was one of his best outings of the season and something to build upon in the second half. He's at a 6.11 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 47:24 K:BB through 70.2 innings over 14 starts this season. Montgomery is lined up for a home start versus the Nationals his next time out.

Curry didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Tigers, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk over 4.1 innings. He struck out one batter.

Curry held Detroit off the board through his first three innings before surrendering a two-run homer to Wenceel Perez in the fourth. The 25-year-old Curry's logged a mediocre 4.98 ERA over 21.2 innings in the majors this season with a 1.25 WHIP and 13:4 K:BB, though he was impressive with Triple-A Columbus while posting a 2.21 ERA in his last four minor-league outings. Curry could remain in the Guardians rotation until Matthew Boyd (elbow) is ready to to be activated from the injured list. Curry currently lines up for a tough road matchup with the Phillies this weekend.

Marsh (7-7) allowed five runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six over five innings to take the loss versus the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Marsh's last outing was a one-inning relief appearance, presumably to get him some work just after the All-Star break. His return to a starting role didn't go very well, as he allowed at least five runs for the third time in his last seven appearances. The right-hander is now at a 4.75 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 90:31 K:BB through 96.2 innings over 19 appearances (18 starts) this season. He's tentatively projected to make his next start on the road versus the White Sox, though Marsh would likely be in the most danger of losing his rotation spot if the Royals decide to add starting pitching before the trade deadline.

Lynn allowed four hits and three walks over five scoreless innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the Pirates. He struck out two.

It didn't come easy for Lynn on Tuesday -- the veteran right-hander had to work out of a pair of bases-loaded jams. Still, Lynn would make it through five innings unscathed in an eventual 2-1 Cardinals victory. The 37-year-old Lynn was tagged for 10 earned runs on July 6 against the Nationals, though he's now held opponents to two runs or fewer in four of his last five outings. Overall, Lynn is 5-4 on the year with a 4.17 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 94:40 K:BB across 101.1 innings. He's currently in line for a home matchup with the Rangers early next week in his next start.
