Bassitt (8-8) took the loss Friday against the Tigers, allowing five runs on seven hits and one walk over 6.2 innings. He struck out six.

With this outing, the Toronto right-hander continued a run of poor performance that saw him yield seven runs across 10 innings in his last two outings before the All-Star break. Bassitt allowed multiple homers for the first time since April 26, as Mark Canha and Wenceel Perez each hit two-run shots. The veteran pitcher's ERA now stands at 3.71 over 114 innings this season. Bassitt currently lines up to make his next start against the Rays at home.

Nola didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Pirates, allowing four runs on six hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out four.

After the Phillies jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning, Pittsburgh responded with three straight hits off Nola in the bottom of the frame before tying the game 3-3. The 31-year-old right-hander had delivered five straight quality starts prior to the All-Star break, working to a 3.13 ERA in that span (31.2 innings). Overall, Nola is 11-4 with a 3.54 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 120:28 K:BB across 124.2 innings this season. He currently lines up for a road matchup with the Twins in his next outing.

Flaherty (7-5) earned the win Friday versus Toronto, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk over 5.2 innings. He struck out eight.

The Detroit right-hander collected his second consecutive win, as he conjured 17 whiffs to produce eight punchouts. In his second start since returning from a back injury, Flaherty masterfully commanded his arsenal over 98 pitches. He has now pitched to a 3.13 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 127:17 K:BB across 100.2 innings, making him a prime trade target at the upcoming July 30 deadline. Flaherty is currently scheduled to make his next start against the Guardians on the road.

Perez did not factor into the decision Friday against the Phillies, allowing six runs on seven hits and two walks over 3.2 innings. He struck out four.

Perez was spared the loss after Pittsburgh rallied for a walk-off win, though it's been a tough go for the left-hander of late -- he has allowed 18 runs in 19.2 innings across his last four outings. Overall, he's 1-5 on the year with a 5.61 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 61:27 K:BB across 15 starts (77 innings). Perez will look to get back on track in his next outing, currently lined up for next week at home against St. Louis.

Cole (3-1) earned the win Friday against Tampa Bay, allowing one run on six hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out eight.

The New York ace was in fine form, generating an impressive 16 whiffs en route to his eight punchouts, his third straight game with at least seven Ks. The lone blemish on his evening was 384-foot solo shot allowed to Brandon Lowe in the sixth. With this 103-pitch effort, Cole lowered his season ERA to 4.60 from 5.40. The 33-year-old is tentatively slated to make his next start against the Mets at home.

Eflin (5-7) took the loss Friday against the Yankees, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits and four walks over five innings. He struck out five.

The Rays right-hander labored in Yankee Stadium, issuing a season-worst four walks. Before this outing, Eflin hadn't granted four free passes in an appearance since Sept. 23, 2019, when he was a member of the Phillies' rotation. After opening the season with a 3.75 ERA across his first eight starts, the 30-year-old hasn't been as sharp over his last 10 outings, pitching to a 4.47 ERA and 44:9 K:BB in 56.1 innings. Eflin is currently scheduled to make his next start against the Blue Jays in Toronto.

Atlanta will recall Elder from Triple-A Gwinnett to start Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Cardinals, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

With Friday's game against St. Louis being pushed back to Saturday due to rain, Elder will join Atlanta for a spot start in the nightcap. The 25-year-old righty owns a 5.71 ERA and 1.62 WHIP through 34.2 innings in the majors this season, though he allowed just two runs in six frames when he started against the Cardinals on June 26.

Montas (4-8) took the loss Friday against the Nationals, allowing seven runs on six hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out three.

After blanking the Nats through his first three innings, Montas was tagged for four runs in the fourth before giving up a three-run homer to Juan Yepez in the fifth. The 31-year-old Montas has been plagued by the long ball recently -- he's now allowed two homers in each of his last three outings. Overall, the right-hander sports a 4.85 ERA with a 1.36 WHIP and 72:38 K:BB across 18 starts (89 innings) this season. Montas is currently slated for a tough road matchup versus Atlanta in his next outing.

Corbin (2-9) earned the win Friday over the Reds, allowing one run on three hits while striking out six over six innings.

Corbin was sharp Friday, holding Cincinnati to a lone third-inning run en route to his first win since May 10. The 35-year-old southpaw had struggled in four starts prior to the All-Star break, allowing 14 runs over 23 innings. Overall, Corbin sports a 5.35 ERA with a 1.49 WHIP and 79:36 K:BB through 20 starts (111 innings) this season. He's currently lined up for a home matchup with San Diego next week in his next outing.

Schwellenbach won't start as scheduled Friday against the Cardinals, as the game was postponed due to rain.

Atlanta and St. Louis will play a doubleheader Saturday. Charlie Morton and Bryce Elder will start during the twin bill, while Schwellenbach will get bumped to Sunday's contest, per Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The 24-year-old allowed four earned runs in five innings while striking out six batters and walking none in a loss the first time he faced the Cards on June 24.
