Peralta dropped his appeal of a five-game suspension and will be begin serving the ban Monday.

Peralta was handed the suspension for intentionally throwing at the Rays' Jose Siri in an 8-2 win over Tampa Bay last Tuesday. The right-hander was ejected from that contest, but after appealing the five-game ban, Peralta took the hill Sunday on normal rest and was dealt the loss in the Brewers' series finale with the Cubs. With Peralta ending his appeal, he won't be able to make his next turn through the rotation that would have fallen Friday versus the Cardinals, though he could make his next start as soon as Saturday. The Brewers are likely to either call up Robert Gasser from Triple-A Nashville to start Friday, or the team will treat Friday's contest as a bullpen day.

The Cubs activated Steele (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Monday against the Padres at Wrigley Field.

Steele will rejoin the rotation Monday after being sidelined since straining his left hamstring Opening Day. The left-hander threw just 63 pitches in his lone rehab outing, so he'll likely have his workload curtailed Monday to some degree.

The Athletics placed Boyle on the 15-day IL on Monday due to a lower-back strain.

Boyle's move to the IL comes one day after he struggled in his start against the Marlins on Sunday, when he allowed four runs on one hit and three walks over one inning en route to taking his fifth loss of the season. According to MLB.com, Boyle initially attempted to pitch through back pain in the start, but the issue "got progressively worse" as the game went along. Mitch Spence covered 4.2 innings out of the bullpen and could be a candidate to enter the rotation when Boyle's next turn comes up this weekend in Seattle.

The Athletics plan to call up Bido from Triple-A Las Vegas to make a start during Wednesday's doubleheader against the Rangers, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Bido has excelled this season for Las Vegas in a difficult pitching environment, posting a 2.59 ERA and 39:13 K:BB across 31.1 innings. The 28-year-old didn't have as much luck during his time in the big leagues with the Pirates last season with a 5.86 ERA in 50.2 frames, and his minor-league track record prior to 2024 isn't nearly as impressive. That said, Bido could have some staying power in the Oakland rotation beyond Wednesday, as the Athletics will be in need of a new No. 5 starter with Joe Boyle (back) landing on the 15-day injured list Monday.

Garrett (shoulder) struck out 13 batters and allowed one hit and one walk over 5.2 scoreless innings in his rehab start Monday for the Marlins' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate.

Though he was facing off against a lineup consisting mostly of teenage hitters, Garrett was dominant nonetheless in what was likely his fifth and final minor-league rehab start. Garrett, who has been on the 15-day injured list all season while recovering from a left shoulder impingement, will likely be activated this weekend to start Saturday or Sunday versus the Phillies for what will be his 2024 debut with the Marlins.

Bubic (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with the Royals' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate on Tuesday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Bubic is working his way back from last April's Tommy John surgery and is finally ready to pitch in games again. It's possible he could be ready to rejoin the Kansas City rotation in early June after his 30-day rehab window expires, but Bubic has minor-league options left and could be sent to Triple-A Omaha if the Royals don't feel he's ready for big-league action once he's activated from the 60-day injured list.

Puk (shoulder) made the second appearance of his rehab assignment with the Marlins' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate Monday, striking out two over a scoreless inning.

Puk has turned in identical two-strikeout perfect innings in the FCL since he started up his rehab assignment Friday. The left-hander broke camp as a member of the Miami rotation, but after turning in a 9.22 ERA and 2.63 WHIP over his four starts before landing on the injured list April 20 with shoulder fatigue, he'll work out of the bullpen once the Marlins activate him. Puk could settle into a high-leverage role in front of closer Tanner Scott right away upon his return to the big club.

Gutierrez cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Worcester on Monday, Francys Romero of MLB.com reports.

Gutierrez had the ability to decline the outright assignment and elect free agency, but he decided not to do so and will remain in the Red Sox organization. The right-hander will likely slide into a starting role for Worcester.

The White Sox recalled Clevinger from Triple-A Charlotte ahead of his start Monday against the Rays in Tampa.

Clevinger will make his season debut for the White Sox after getting built back up in the minors upon re-signing with Chicago on a one-year deal April 2. The right-hander allowed three runs on 10 hits and a 7:3 K:BB in 7.1 innings during his two starts with Charlotte. Clevinger threw 71 pitches in his most recent outing, so he likely won't be asked to handle a full workload Monday. He collected a 3.77 ERA and 110:40 K:BB across 131.1 frames covering 24 starts for the White Sox in 2023.

Bradley (pectoral) has joined the Rays in Tampa Bay and is likely to be activated from the 15-day injured list to make his season debut later this week, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Bradley has been out all season with a right pectoral strain, but he looked good in two rehab starts, most recently yielding just one earned run across six innings while striking out eight with Triple-A Durham this past Friday. The exact date for Bradley's season debut hasn't yet been revealed, but he'll presumably take the hill sometime this weekend against the Yankees.
