Jones threw five scoreless innings during Tuesday's loss against the Mets while allowing one hit and striking out seven batters. He did not factor into the decision.

Jones was dominant in his fourth career start, needing just 56 pitches to get through five innings while allowing just one batter to reach base. The 22-year-old likely could have continued pitching further into the game, but the Pirates' plan was always to limit him to five innings Tuesday. He departed with a 1-0 lead, but Pittsburgh's bullpen was unable to keep the Mets' offense quiet, leading to a 3-1 defeat and a no-decision for Jones. The right-hander now boasts a 3.13 ERA and 0.78 WHIP alongside a 32:2 K:BB ratio across 23 innings.

Quintana allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out four batters across five innings in a no-decision en route to a 3-1 victory over the Pirates on Tuesday.

The Pirates were able to put runners on base relatively consistently against Quintana, but a fifth-inning RBI single off the bat of Bryan Reynolds ended up producing the only run Pittsburgh would score all day. The 35-year-old southpaw now owns a 3.05 ERA across 20.2 innings through four starts, though his 1.50 WHIP is a cause for concern.

Whitlock (oblique) said he was removed from Tuesday's game against Cleveland as a precaution, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Whitlock's oblique started bothering him during the third inning, and he was later removed from the game after pitching four frames. He also noted that his injury doesn't feel like something that will bother him enough to keep him from making his start -- tentatively scheduled for Sunday -- but the Sox will continue to monitor his condition until then.

Brown (0-3) took the loss Tuesday, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks with three strikeouts over six innings against Atlanta.

Despite ending up in the loss column, Brown turned in a quality start against one of baseball's best offenses. The outing was the definition of a rebound for Brown, who allowed a combined 14 runs over 3.2 innings during his previous two starts. However, the right-hander was hung out to dry by the Astros' offense, which didn't get on the scoreboard until the bottom of the ninth. Excluding the pair of ugly showings, Brown has allowed three runs (two earned) and recorded eight strikeouts over the 10 innings covering his other two starts. He'll look for his first win of 2024 in a tentative matchup with the Cubs next Tuesday.

Lopez (2-0) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing four hits and a walk over six scoreless innings against the Astros. He struck out seven.

Lopez continued his excellent start to 2024, generating his third straight quality start and extending his scoreless-inning streak to 12. The veteran righty has been a pleasant surprise for Atlanta and fantasy managers who took a gamble after he started just one game in the past two seasons, delivering an 18:6 K:BB over 18.0 innings with merely one run allowed through three outings. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Marlins on Monday.

Cease (2-1) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing one run on two hits and five walks across six innings against the Brewers. He struck out seven.

Cease got a little wild Tuesday and walked a handful of batters, but he put up his fourth straight start with two or fewer earned runs. The right-hander has also punched out seven in three consecutive appearances. Milwaukee's lone run against Cease came in the first frame when Jake Bauers plated Willy Adames on a double. Cease has been an excellent addition to the Padres rotation thus far, boasting a 1.99 ERA and a 0.93 WHIP across 22.2 innings. He's tentatively lined up for a start at Coors Field on Monday.

Miley (0-1) took the loss Tuesday, allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits with two walks over three innings against San Diego. He struck out two.

Miley was struck in the leg by a Manny Machado comebacker during the first inning and was met on the mound by the Brewers training staff twice following the incident. However, he remained in the game and finished out three full innings on 66 pitches. All four runs scored during Miley's outing came during the first frame, highlighted by a three-run home run of the bat of Ha-Seong Kim. While Miley is currently projected for a Monday start at Pittsburgh, fantasy managers should monitor his health in the coming days.

Hicks didn't factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks over five innings in a loss to the Marlins. He struck out six.

Hicks was solid for the most part Tuesday, holding the Marlins scoreless through his first three innings before Miami scored twice in the fourth to tie the game. It's the first time Hicks has allowed more than a single run in a start this year -- he's 2-0 with a 1.57 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 18:6 K:BB through his first four outings (23 innings). Hicks will look to get back in the win column in his next start, currently lined up for Sunday versus the Diamondbacks.

Paddack (0-1) took the loss Tuesday against the Orioles, allowing nine runs on 12 hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out two.

While Paddack's 5.1 innings pitched were a season high, he didn't miss many bats, allowing three runs in the second inning and another four in the fourth en route to his first loss of the year. The 28-year-old Paddack's ERA is up to 8.36 with a 2.07 WHIP and 9:5 K:BB through his first three starts (14 innings) this year. He's currently slated to face the White Sox at home in his next outing.

Rodriguez (3-0) earned the win Tuesday against the Twins, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out six.

Rodriguez has held opponents to two runs or fewer in each of his four outings this year, earning three quality starts. The 24-year-old right-hander has a 2.63 ERA with a 1.17 WHIP and 27:8 K:BB through his first 24 innings after going 7-4 with a 4.35 ERA as a rookie last year. Rodriguez is currently lined up for a road start early next week against the Angels.
