Lorenzen (1-0) allowed zero runs on three hits while walking five to earn the win in Monday's 1-0 victory over the Tigers. He struck out four.

Lorenzen struggled with his control (46 strikes on 79 pitches), but a five-inning shutout is about as good of a result as the Rangers could have hoped to get from him in his team debut. He was able to end his night on a high note by induced an inning-ending double play in the bottom of the fifth. The veteran righty signed with the Rangers in late March after coming off a career-high 153 innings split between the Tigers and Phillies last season. He'll likely have a longer leash in his next start with Texas, which is expected to come over the weekend in Atlanta.

Cabrera (shoulder) didn't factor into the decision in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Giants, striking out 10 while allowing one run on five hits and one walk across six innings.

Cabrera showed no signs of rust in his first MLB appearance since last September, recording double-digit strikeouts for the third time in his career and firing first-pitch strikes to 19 of the 22 batters he faced. After a lengthy rehab stint to open up 2024, Cabrera threw 91 pitches and didn't allow a single extra-base hit to the Giants. While he wasn't able to pick up the win -- something that could continue considering the Marlins' 3-14 record -- Cabrera will provide plenty of fantasy value if he maintains this form. He's lined up for another start Sunday against the Cubs.

Arrighetti (0-2) allowed two runs on four hits and two walks over four innings Monday, striking out five and taking a loss against Atlanta.

Arrighetti let both runs cross home during the second inning in what was otherwise a solid performance. It was a dramatic improvement compared to his MLB debut against Kansas City when he was tagged with seven runs over three frames. Arrighetti forced 15 swinging strikes against Atlanta, including seven with his cutter. With Justin Verlander (shoulder) expected to return this week, Arrighetti will likely head back to Triple-A Sugar Land.

Perez did not factor into the decision Monday against the Mets, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out one.

Perez was pitching well again through his first five innings until being chased by three Mets hits and a walk in the sixth inning. The 33-year-old veteran has provided stability to the rotation during his first year in Pittsburgh, pitching to the tune of a 2.55 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 16:7 K:BB over 24.2 innings. Perez is scheduled to make his next start at home against the Red Sox.

Houser did not factor into the decision Monday against Pittsburgh, allowing two runs on two hits and five walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out five.

Houser struggled with his command Monday night as he yielded five free passes, matching a career-worse set three times in 2021. However, in encouraging news, he managed to regain velocity on his main pitch, the sinker. The pitch averaged 92.4 mph Monday night, in-line with his 92.5-mph average velocity in 2023. Houser is slated to face the Dodgers on the road in his next start.

Quantrill didn't factor into the decision Monday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks with one strikeout in six innings against the Phillies.

Quantrill notched his second straight quality start and yielded fewer than three runs for the first time in 2023. Despite making three of his first four starts away from Coors Field, Quantrill owns a 5.57 ERA and an 11:7 K:BB through 21.0 innings. After their series in Philadelphia, the Rockies will play their next nine games at home, with Quantrill tentatively lined up to face the Mariners on Sunday before seeing either the Padres or Astros in his following start.

Nola didn't factor into the decision Monday, allowing one run on four hits and a walk with nine strikeouts over 7.1 innings against Colorado.

Nola turned in his best start of the season Monday, picking up a second consecutive quality start and surpassing four strikeouts for the first time. The only damage against Nola came in the fifth inning when Michael Toglia clubbed a solo home run. Although Nola owns a 3.47 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP, he's been particularly susceptible to the long ball (1.9 HR/9 in 2024), a trend worth monitoring after giving up 1.5 HR/9 in 2023. Nola's projected to cap off a two-start week Sunday against the White Sox.

Varland (0-3) allowed six runs (four earned) on 11 hits over five innings to take the loss Monday against the Orioles. He struck out six.

Varland's five-inning effort did not include a clean inning and included three separate innings in which he allowed two runs, though neither of the runs scored in the first inning were earned. Varland has failed to make it past five innings in any start this year, earning the loss in all three, with Monday's 11 hits allowed representing a career high. Varland won a job in the Twins rotation after having allowed zero runs in the spring but has allowed 13 earned runs over 14 innings thus far for an ERA of 8.36 with a 2.07 WHIP. He'll look to turn things around in his next start, tentatively slated to take place over the weekend in Detroit against the Tigers.

Ross (1-1) yielded seven runs (six earned) on nine hits and two walks over 4.2 innings Monday, striking out four and taking a loss against the Padres.

Ross worked through three shutout frames before the Padres got on the board in the fourth inning. Things unraveled in the fifth when San Diego plated six runs. He's allowed just two runs over 10 innings this season before Monday's rough outing. Ross saw his ERA jump to 4.91 alongside a 14:8 K:BB. Ross is projected to take the mound in St. Louis this weekend.

Irvin did not factor into the decision during Monday's win over Minnesota, allowing two runs on six hits over 4.2 innings. He struck out four.

Irvin was sent out for the fifth inning with a chance to put himself in position for the win but was lifted in favor of Dillon Tate following a two-out single by Manuel Margot. Irvin had been held to roughly 80 pitches in each of his first two starts and the same held true Monday as he was pulled after 82. Irvin had allowed nine runs and walked five in his first two starts, so holding the Twins to just a pair of runs with zero walks was a step in the right direction. His next scheduled start is tentatively slated for a weekend matchup in Kansas City against the Royals.
