Sheehan is expected to be part of the Dodgers' six-man rotation moving forward and is scheduled to start Tuesday against the Cardinals, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Even with Blake Snell (shoulder) scheduled to return from the 60-day injured list to start Sunday against the Rays, Sheehan will move into the rotation after Los Angeles cleared another spot by trading Dustin May to the Red Sox on Thursday. In his most recent appearance Wednesday against the Reds, Sheehan worked in relief behind Shohei Ohtani, but Sheehan still covered 3.2 innings and tossed 72 pitches to keep himself stretched out for a starting role. Since making his 2025 Dodgers debut June 18 after completing his recovery from Tommy John surgery, Sheehan has turned in a 3.60 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 26:10 K:BB in 25 innings over six appearances (four starts).

Lorenzen (oblique) faced five batters in a live batting practice session Thursday, MLB.com reports.

Assuming Lorenzen experienced no complications in his recovery from a left oblique strain coming out of the workout, he's expected to begin a rehab assignment at some point during the upcoming week. Lorenzen has been on the shelf since July 14, and given the relative brevity of his absence, he could be ready to rejoin the Kansas City rotation after just one rehab start.

Bieber (elbow) is expected to throw 70-to-75 pitches in a rehab start for Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

If everything goes well, Bieber could then return from the 60-day injured list to make his Blue Jays debut the following weekend in a road series against the Dodgers. Acquired from the Guardians at the trade deadline, the 30-year-old right-hander and 2020 American League Cy Young Award winner is in the final stages of his recovery from Tommy John surgery he underwent in April 2024.

The Dodgers reinstated Snell (shoulder) from the injured list Saturday.

After spending four months on the injured list with left shoulder inflammation, Snell will officially return to a big-league mound Saturday. The 32-year-old southpaw posted a dominant 1.32 ERA and 0.95 WHIP alongside a 24:5 K:BB through 13.2 innings during his four-start rehab assignment. He'll return to face a Rays lineup that's struggled to the tune of a .658 OPS since the All-Star break, though the Dodgers may look to limit Snell's workload during his first start back. Paul Gervase was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Parker (7-11) took the loss Friday as the Nationals were downed 16-9 by the Brewers, surrendering eight runs on 12 hits and a walk over four-plus innings. He struck out three.

The lefty served up a pair of homers to light-hitting Blake Perkins, but Parker didn't have better luck against the rest of the Milwaukee lineup. It's the second time in Parker's last four starts that he's been tagged for seven or more runs, and he's gone seven straight outings without striking out more than four batters, a stretch in which he's labored to a 6.99 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and 19:12 K:BB over 37.1 innings. He'll try to pull out of the tailspin in his next start, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Athletics.

Quintana (8-4) picked up the win Friday, giving up two runs on six hits and two walks over five innings in a 16-9 victory over the Nationals. He struck out four.

The veteran southpaw tossed 58 of 94 pitches for strikes in an inefficient outing, but the Brewers backed him with a season-high 25 hits. Quintana continues to provide Milwaukee with reliable innings, posting a 3.69 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 24:14 K:BB over 39 innings across his last seven starts, winning four of them. He could get plenty of run support again in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come on the road next week in Atlanta.

Greene (groin) is scheduled to make the third start of his rehab assignment Sunday with Triple-A Louisville, MLB.com reports.

Greene breezed through his first rehab start in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on July 23 with four strikeouts over two scoreless frames, but he wasn't nearly as sharp while moving up to Louisville for his second outing Tuesday. He struck out six but allowed four earned runs on five hits and no walks before leaving after 2.1 innings due to a sore leg. Greene has quickly moved past that issue and will remain on schedule with his rehab assignment, but it's not clear if he'll be ready to return from the 15-day injured list following Sunday's start. Since he was lifted after 50 pitches in Tuesday's outing, Greene may need to push his pitch count into the 65-to-80 range Sunday for the Reds to feel comfortable adding him back to the big-league rotation next week.

Littell is listed as the Reds' probable starting pitcher for Tuesday's game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.

After making his final start for the Rays this past Wednesday before being dealt to the Reds later that evening, Littell will be taking the hill on five days' rest for his Cincinnati debut. Right-hander Hunter Greene (groin) has already completed two rehab starts and could be activated from the injured list in the next week or two, but his return is unlikely to dislodge Littell from the rotation, given how well he had been pitching for the Rays this season. Over his 22 starts with Tampa Bay, Littell spun a 3.58 ERA and 1.12 WHIP in 133.1 innings, though he had served up a MLB-high 26 home runs.

Soroka is slated to start Monday's game against the Reds at Wrigley Field.

After coming over from Washington in a deadline deal, Soroka will claim a spot in the back end of the Cubs rotation in place of right-hander Ben Brown, who appears to have been moved to the bullpen. Over his 16 starts with the Nationals this season, Soroka sported a 4.87 ERA, but his 1.13 WHIP, career-best 18.4 K-BB% and 4.05 xFIP all suggest that he pitched better than his ERA indicated.

May is scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Royals at Fenway Park in what will be his Red Sox debut.

Boston had previously listed May as its scheduled starter for Sunday's game against the Astros, but the right-hander will instead have to wait a few more days beyond that to make his team debut. Lucas Giolito is now slated to take the hill for the Red Sox's final contest of the weekend series with Houston.
