Gilbert (3-5) took the loss Monday at Philadelphia, allowing six runs on nine hits and no walks over two innings. He struck out one.

The Seattle right-hander looked like a shell of the pitcher who entered this contest with a 3.31 ERA across 89.2 frames. Gilbert allowed five or more runs for the first time in 18 starts this season, as he equaled the shortest outing of his career -- previously done when he pitched two innings June 26, 2021. The Phillies tallied all six of their runs, including two homers, in the second to chase Gilbert after 65 pitches. He now sports a 3.83 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 125:23 K:BB across 91.2 total innings. Gilbert will look to bounce back in his next start, which is currently scheduled to come at home against the Athletics this weekend.

Suarez (9-6) allowed two runs on four hits and no walks over 6.2 innings to earn the win Monday against Seattle. He struck out 10.

Suarez reached the double-digit K mark for the first time this season out of 19 total starts, as he generated a solid 13 whiffs out of his 102 pitches. The Philadelphia southpaw blanked the Mariners over 6.2 frames but then gave up a solo homer and a hit-by-pitch to wrap his performance (the stranded runner subsequently scored on a homer conceded by reliever Jordan Romano). Through 119 total innings, Suarez has pitched to a 3.25 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 111:29 K:BB while allowing 10 long balls. The 29-year-old is slated to make his next start at home against the Nationals this weekend.

Gausman allowed two runs on five hits and two walks over five innings while not factoring into the decision in Monday's 5-2 loss at Pittsburgh. He struck out four.

The veteran right-hander limited the damage in this 96-pitch performance, as he allowed just one extra-base hit -- a Spencer Horwitz double in the third. Despite a five-run blowup against Kansas City on Aug. 1, Gausman has been a dependable starter since the All-Star break, producing a 2.61 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 38:8 K:BB across 38 frames. In 147.2 total innings, the 34-year-old has pitched to a 3.78 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 142:42 K:BB while yielding 19 homers. He is currently scheduled to make his next start at Miami this weekend.

Freeland left Monday's start against the Dodgers due to an apparent blister on his pitching hand, Manny Randhawa of MLB.com reports. He allowed two runs on six hits and one walk while striking out five over four innings before departing.

Freeland tried to go back out for a fifth inning of work but walked back to the clubhouse after it became clear he couldn't fight through the issue any longer. It's currently unclear if the issue will cause the southpaw to miss his next turn through the rotation, which tentatively lines up for Saturday in Pittsburgh.

Skenes did not factor into the decision in Monday's 5-2 victory over Toronto. He conceded two runs on five hits and one walk over six innings with eight strikeouts.

The Pittsburgh ace generated 16 whiffs out of 96 total pitches en route to notching his 10th outing with eight or more punchouts this season. Skenes also picked up his 16th quality start, surpassing the total from his rookie campaign in 2024. The 23-year-old remains one of the best pitchers in the game, as he now sports a 2.16 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 174:37 K:BB in 154 total frames. Skenes is currently scheduled to make his next appearance at home versus the lowly Rockies this weekend.

Arrighetti (1-4) coughed up five runs on seven hits and four walks over five innings to take the loss Monday at Detroit. He struck out five.

The Houston right-hander was pitching well through the first four frames, allowing one run on a solo homer by Wenceel Perez in the fourth. Then the floodgates opened in the fifth, as Arrighetti conceded four runs on four hits and two walks, capped by a three-run blast by Riley Greene. The 25-year-old has struggled since his return from a thumb injury Aug. 6, pitching to an unsightly 7.90 ERA, 2.12 WHIP and 13:10 K:BB over 13.2 innings. Arrighetti will look to bounce back in his next start, which currently lines up to be at Baltimore this weekend.

Suarez (triceps/shoulder) was activated from the 7-day injured list Saturday.

Suarez has missed significant time while recovering from right triceps and shoulder tightness. He made his first appearance for High-A Bowling Green on Sunday since May 7, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits while striking out five across three innings.

Flaherty (7-12) earned the win Monday against the Astros, throwing seven scoreless innings while allowing three hits and one walk with seven strikeouts.

This performance was a welcome sight for Flaherty, who entered the contest on the heels of back-to-back outings allowing five earned runs. The Detroit right-hander notched his 10th quality start of the season, as he threw 60 of his 90 total pitches for strikes. The 29-year-old lowered his season ERA from 4.76 to 4.51 across 131.2 total frames to go with a 1.29 WHIP and 162:50 K:BB. Flaherty will look to continue his good form when he next takes the mound at home against Kansas City this weekend.

Taillon (calf) won't be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader against the Brewers after the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Taillon was on track to make his first start since June 29 after missing time with a right calf strain, but he'll need to wait one more day after Wrigley Field experienced heavy rain right before first pitch. The twin bill will now take place Tuesday, and Taillon is listed as the probable pitcher to toe the rubber for Game 2, per Jared Wyllys of AllCHGO.com.

Patrick will no longer start Monday after Game 2 of the Brewers' doubleheader against the Cubs was postponed due to inclement weather, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Patrick was set to appear in his first major-league contest since July 5, but he'll now have to wait another day. The contest will be made up in a split doubleheader Tuesday. Patrick will toe the rubber in Game 1 on Tuesday, while Brandon Woodruff will handle the nightcap, per Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com.
