Michael McGreevy P | STL
Cardinals' Michael McGreevy: Returned to Triple-A
McGreevy was returned to Triple-A Memphis on Friday.
McGreevy was up as the 27th man for Thursday's doubleheader against the White Sox, and he made the start in the second game, allowing just one run on three hits and one walk across five innings. McGreevy struck out five and was in line for the win, as he left the game with a 6-1 lead before the St. Louis bullpen coughed it up in the late innings. McGreevy has made a pair of starts in doubleheaders for the Cardinals this season and has appeared in three games total. He heads back to Triple-A with an impressive 2.70 ERA and 15:2 K:BB across 16.2 innings of work. McGreevy will be back up at some point, but there's not currently a spot for him in the rotation. One would open up if the Cardinals opt to move one of their contract-year starters at the deadline.

Blade Tidwell P | SF
Mets' Blade Tidwell: Officially promoted to start Friday
The Mets recalled Tidwell from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.
Tidwell has been tapped as Friday's starter against the Phillies, and the 24-year-old will hope for a better outing than his first MLB start May 4 against the Cardinals in which he allowed six earned runs on nine hits and three walks across 3.2 innings. Tidwell was saddled with the loss in that game and struck out just two. He's not a recommended fantasy option versus Philadelphia.

Davis Martin SP | CHW
White Sox's Davis Martin: Out with forearm strain
The White Sox placed Martin on the 15-day injured list Friday due to a right forearm strain.
The right-hander was penciled in to start Friday against the Blue Jays, but he's instead landed on the IL. Martin will be eligible to return from the shelf in early July, but given the nature of the injury, he could wind up missing more than the minimum 15 days. Chicago has yet to announce a replacement starter for Friday's contest.

Connor Phillips SP | CIN
Reds' Connor Phillips: Call-up pending
Phillips is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Louisville on Friday, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Phillips is set to join the Reds' bullpen Friday after tallying a 3.21 ERA in 14 innings at Louisville this season. The 24-year-old had exclusively operated as a starter before 2025, including his five-start stint with the Reds back in 2023, when he logged a 6.97 ERA and a 26:13 K:BB over 20.2 innings.

Sean Manaea RP | NYM
Mets' Sean Manaea: Set for fourth rehab start Friday
Manaea (oblique) will move to Triple-A Syracuse on Friday to make his fourth rehab start, Ben Krimmel of SNY.tv reports.
Manaea has been on the shelf all season while recovering from a right oblique strain, but he looks to be just a couple weeks away from returning from the 60-day injured list. The veteran southpaw most recently pitched Sunday for High-A Brooklyn, covering 2.1 innings and striking out two batters while allowing four earned runs on five hits and two walks. After Friday's outing, Manaea is expected to make at least one more rehab start before joining the big club. His 2025 Mets debut is tentatively scheduled for a three-game set against the Brewers that starts July 1, per Mike Puma of the New York Post.

Didier Fuentes P | ATL
Braves' Didier Fuentes: Promoted ahead of MLB debut
Atlanta selected Fuentes' contract from Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday.
Fuentes will make his major-league debut Friday with a start in Miami. The 20-year-old began the season at the High-A level but was recently promoted to Gwinnett, and he has collected a 2.41 ERA and 23:4 K:BB over 18.2 innings covering his last four outings. It's expected to be just a spot start for Fuentes as Atlanta looks to give its regular rotation members some extra rest.

John Means SP | KC
Guardians' John Means: Throwing off mound
Means (elbow) has begun throwing off a mound, MLB.com reports.
Means is attempting to come back from a second Tommy John surgery and could return late in the 2025 regular season. He'll continue his throwing progression but has not yet taken the mound for a bullpen session, and there's no timeline yet for the 32-year-old southpaw to begin a rehab assignment.

Shane Bieber SP | TOR
Guardians' Shane Bieber: Playing catch again
Bieber (elbow) has resumed playing catch, MLB.com reports.
Bieber was given the good news that he could resume throwing, and playing catch is the first step toward resuming the rehab assignment that began May 31. The assignment was paused when the right-hander felt soreness in his elbow, but tests revealed it was merely normal post-surgery discomfort. The next step in his build-up should be a bullpen session, before the Guardians restart Bieber's rehab stint.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto SP | LAD
Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto: Winless stretch continues
Yamamoto (6-6) allowed three runs on seven hits and struck out five over 6.1 innings, taking the loss Thursday versus the Padres.
Yamamoto turned in a quality start, but his rough June continued. He's 0-3 over four starts this month, allowing a total of 12 runs and four homers over 20.2 innings in that span. Yamamoto now has a 2.76 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 95:30 K:BB across 84.2 innings over 15 starts. All of his opponents this month have been north of .500, so that can explain some of the struggles. Yamamoto's next start is projected to be at Colorado -- even factoring in Coors Field, it's an opportunity for him to return to dominance against one of the league's weaker lineups.

Colton Gordon P | HOU
Astros' Colton Gordon: Middling results against A's
Gordon allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits and a walk while striking out four over five innings in a no-decision versus the Athletics on Thursday.
The long ball was again a problem for Gordon, who gave up solo home runs to Willie MacIver and Lawrence Butler in the second inning. This was the third time in four starts where Gordon has given up multiple homers, though he's done a decent job of limiting the damage when he can keep the ball down. He's yet to give up more than four runs in any start, but he's also pitched into the sixth inning just twice. He's at a 4.54 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 34:5 K:BB through 35.2 innings, and it's that sharp control that could eventually help him find success. Gordon has a tough matchup ahead, as his next start is projected to be at home versus the Phillies.
