Kevin Gausman SP | TOR
Blue Jays' Kevin Gausman: Gives up four runs in loss
Gausman (5-5) took the loss against the Phillies on Friday, allowing four runs on four hits and four walks while striking out seven across five innings.
Gausman yielded all four runs in the second frame, highlighted by a Kyle Schwarber three-run home run. Gausman generated 15 whiffs on 95 pitches (56 strikes) and punched out at least seven batters for the fifth time this season, but he has given up at least three earned runs in three consecutive starts. The 34-year-old ace is up to 4.08 ERA across 81.2 innings this season, but his 1.07 WHIP ranks 10th among qualified starters in the American League. He's slated to face the Diamondbacks at home next week.

Ranger Suarez SP | BOS
Phillies' Ranger Suarez: Blanks Toronto in seven innings
Suarez (5-1) earned the win against the Blue Jays on Friday, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out six across seven scoreless innings.
It was another strong outing for Suarez, who allowed one baserunner or less in six of seven innings while tossing 94 pitches (65 strikes) and inducing eight groundballs. The 29-year-old southpaw has logged seven straight quality starts, and over that span he has a 1.16 ERA and 0.96 WHIP across 46.2 innings. Suarez will look to stay hot in his next start, which is tentatively slated for next week on the road against the Marlins.

Logan Evans RP | SEA
Mariners' Logan Evans: Optioned to Tacoma
The Mariners optioned Evans to Triple-A Tacoma on Friday.
Evans owns a 3.38 ERA and 1.33 WHIP over 40 innings across seven starts on the year, but with Logan Gilbert (elbow) nearing a return, the former will be pushed out of the MLB rotation. Zach Pop will join the Mariners' pitching staff in a corresponding move to provide extra bullpen depth.

Cade Horton P | CHC
Cubs' Cade Horton: No-decision against Pittsburgh
Horton did not factor into Friday's decision against the Pirates, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out four across 5.2 scoreless innings.
Horton generated nine whiffs and 16 first-pitch strikes across 76 pitches and faced the minimum number of batters in three of six innings. Friday marked Horton's first scoreless outing in his major-league career, and the 23-year-old right-hander now has a 3.47 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 29:8 K:BB across 36.1 innings this season. He's lined up to start against the Mariners at home next weekend.

Logan Gilbert SP | SEA
Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Nearing return
Gilbert (elbow) is throwing a bullpen session Friday, and if all goes well, he will make his next start with the Mariners, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Gilbert made three rehab starts and is currently with the team at T-Mobile Park on Friday. If he doesn't endure a setback during Friday's bullpen session, he would be in line to make his return to the rotation. If that's the case, he'd likely pitch during a three-game home set against Boston that begins Monday.

Paul Skenes SP | PIT
Pirates' Paul Skenes: Blanks Cubs across five frames
Skenes did not factor into Friday's decision against the Cubs, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out five across five scoreless innings.
Friday was just the third time in 15 starts this season that Skenes failed to make it to the sixth inning. He still managed to keep the Cubs off the board, thanks in large part to an assist from the Pirates' fielders in the fifth inning to throw Ian Happ out at home. Skenes has allowed one earned run or fewer in each of his last seven starts, and his 1.78 ERA and 0.85 WHIP (across 96 innings) are both third best in the National League among qualified starters. He's in line to start against the Tigers on the road next week.

Aaron Civale SP | ATH
White Sox's Aaron Civale: Making Sox debut Sunday
White Sox manager Will Venable said that Civale will start Sunday's game against the Rangers, Kyle Williams of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
The White Sox acquired Civale on Friday, after he requested to be traded from Milwaukee upon being told earlier this week that he would be moved to the bullpen. He'll immediately slot into the starting rotation for his new organization but could be traded again prior to the July 31 deadline, given the White Sox's status as a non-contender in addition to the fact that the right-hander is on an expiring contract. Civale logged a 4.91 ERA over 22 innings with the Brewers and pitched into the sixth inning just once in five starts this season.

Tyler Glasnow SP | LAD
Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Faces hitters Friday
Glasnow (shoulder) threw a simulated inning of live batting practice Friday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Glasnow was initially scheduled to throw a regular bullpen session, but he wound up facing batters for the first time since landing on the injured list April 28. The right-hander was briefly set back in his recovery from shoulder inflammation when he experienced general body soreness earlier this month, but he ended up getting back on the mound about a week later. Now that he's faced hitters, a rehab assignment could be around the corner for Glasnow, who has a chance to return from the 60-day injured list before the All-Star break.

Alex Cobb SP | DET
Tigers' Alex Cobb: Receives injection
Cobb (hip) received an injection in his left hip Friday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Cobb threw two innings in a rehab start Wednesday with Triple-A Toledo, but he was apparently in need of further treatment to address inflammation in his left hip. The Tigers haven't indicated how long Cobb will be held out while he waits for the injection to take effect before resuming his rehab assignment. Through his three outings in the minors thus far between Toledo and High-A West Michigan, Cobb owns a 1.42 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 7:5 K:BB over 6.1 innings.

Reese Olson SP | DET
Tigers' Reese Olson: Starting rehab assignment
Olson (finger) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on Saturday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Olson has been sidelined since May 19 due to right ring finger inflammation, but he's made enough progress with his throwing program to test himself in a game setting. General manager Jeff Greenberg said Sunday that he's "cautiously optimistic" that Olson will return from the injured list "sooner rather than later," though he may require multiple appearances at Triple-A before being cleared to join the big-league rotation.
