Indians outfielder Zach Walters is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Rays. Walters has taken just one at-bat since Sept. 15 as he continues to deal with an intercostal injury.

Walters has been limited to pinch-run and pinch-hit duties since Sept. 9 because of an intercostal injury. Because he doesn't receive everyday at-bats, his status for the final weekend of the season remains uncertain. Walters is hitting .171/.233/.407 over 123 at-bats.

The Red Sox scratched infielders Xander Bogaerts and Will Middlebrooks from the starting lineup Tuesday. Bogaerts is still dealing with neck stiffness, while Middlebrooks has a sprained right hand, the Boston Herald reports.

Kipnis left Thursday's game with a hamstring injury, but manager Terry Francona expressed optimism that he would be able to return this weekend. Walters has been dealing with an intercostal strain and may be able to pinch hit if needed.
