Brayan Rocchio SS | CLE
Guardians' Brayan Rocchio: Unable to build off spring
Rocchio went 0-for-2 and was hit by a pitch in Tuesday's 7-0 loss to San Diego.
Rocchio, who had a promising Cactus League season, has not carried that over into the regular season. Over 50 plate appearances this spring, the shortstop had an .828 OPS, which in retrospect was influenced by a .389 BABIP. Thus far through five regular-season contests, Rocchio is 3-for-15 (.231 BABIP) with one walk and one run.

Leonardo Rivas SS | SEA
Mariners' Leo Rivas: Returning to majors
The Mariners recalled Rivas from Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday.
With Jorge Polanco away on paternity leave, the Mariners will call up Rivas to give the team additional infield depth for the next several days. The 27-year-old turned in a .607 OPS in 86 plate appearances with the M's last season but has already blasted two home runs in three Triple-A games this year.

Jacob Amaya SS | ARI
White Sox's Jacob Amaya: Heading to bench Tuesday
Amaya is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins.
Amaya collected a hit Opening Day but will sit Tuesday after going 0-for-8 with a stolen base, a run and two strikeouts in the past three games. Brooks Baldwin will take over at shortstop and bat seventh.

Zachary Neto SS | LAA
Angels' Zach Neto: Cleared to begin rehab assignment
Neto (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday.
It's not yet clear whether he will immediately play shortstop or be eased into action at designated hitter. Neto is working his way back from right shoulder surgery and could be ready to rejoin the Angels soon, although there's no known target date yet. Kevin Newman has been filling in as the Angels' primary shortstop.

Jacob Wilson SS | ATH
Athletics' Jacob Wilson: Slugs first career homer
Wilson went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in an 18-3 loss to the Cubs on Monday.
Wilson put the Athletics on the board in the third inning with a solo shot to left field. He added another RBI on a groundout in the fourth in what was then a 5-3 game, but Chicago went on to score the final 13 runs to turn the contest into a rout. Wilson isn't known for his power, and Monday's long ball was the first of his major-league career after he failed to go deep over 103 plate appearances as a rookie last season.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Tigers' Javier Baez: Collects trio of hits
Baez went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI in Monday's 9-6 win versus the Mariners.
Baez drew his first start at the hot corner since 2019 with the Cubs and made the most of his opportunity, producing his first three-hit game since May 18, 2024. The veteran infielder had a rough Grapefruit League, slashing .184/.279/.368 with a 4:9 BB:K across 43 plate appearances, so he will have to continue hitting like this performance to stay in the lineup.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Tigers' Javier Baez: Starting at hot corner
Baez is starting at third base and batting ninth in Monday's game against the Mariners.
Baez started Thursday's season opener at shortstop and he's also seen time at third off the bench in the early going, though this will be his first start at the hot corner. The veteran looks like more of a utility player for the Tigers this season versus a regular option at short, and he could even see time in the outfield after picking up some reps there during spring training. Baez may end up seeing a decent amount of playing time in this new role, though his fantasy outlook remains murky as a bench player.

Daniel Schneemann 2B | CLE
Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Idle vs. southpaw
Schneemann is not in the Guardians' lineup against the Padres on Monday.
The lefty-hitting Schneemann will begin Monday's game in the dugout due to the Padres sending southpaw Kyle Hart to the mound. Gabriel Arias will start at the keystone and bat seventh.
