Story went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional run and two stolen bases in Wednesday's 2-1 win against the Rays.

There wasn't much offense between the two teams, but Story stuffed the stat sheet anyway, belting a solo homer in the sixth inning and swiping a pair of bags. The long ball was the shortstop's second since he returned Sept. 7 from an absence of over five months due to a dislocated shoulder. Since being activated from the IL, Story has batted .286 (10-for-35) with four RBI and four steals over 10 games.

Correa went 3-for-5 with four RBI in an extra-inning loss to the Guardians on Wednesday.

All three of Correa's hits were singles, but they collectively resulted in three Twins runs. The shortstop added another RBI with a first-inning fielder's choice, so all four of Minnesota's runs came on plays off his bat. Correa has gone 5-for-10 with two walks in three contests since returning from the injured list Sept. 14.

Bichette was scratched from Wednesday's lineup against the Rangers due to a right middle finger contusion, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Bichette went 2-for-5 with an RBI in his return from the injured list Tuesday, but he'll be prevented from playing Wednesday as he deals with a bruised finger. His absence will move Ernie Clement from third base to shortstop, and Addison Barger will enter the starting nine to start at the hot corner.

Caballero is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Red Sox.

Cabellero started each of the previous five games for the Rays, but he will begin Wednesday's contest on the bench. Taylor Walls will garner the start at shortstop and will bat eighth.

Neto is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the White Sox, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

In the midst of a 1-for-24 drought at the dish, Neto is receiving a rare day off. Jack Lopez will cover shortstop and bat second for the Angels while Neto gets some rest.

Amaya is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

After making 14 starts at shortstop in a 16-game stretch from Aug. 30 through Monday, Amaya now finds himself on the bench for the second day in a row. He's sat in each of the White Sox's last three matchups with right-handed pitchers, as Amaya looks to have moved into the short side of a platoon at shortstop with the lefty-hitting Nicky Lopez. Since joining the White Sox on Aug. 27 after being claimed off waivers from the Astros, Amaya is slashing .244/.311/.268.

Schuemann is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Cubs.

Schuemann manned third base for the Athletics in each of the previous five games, but he will begin Wednesday's contest on the bench. Nick Allen will handle the hot corner and bat ninth.

Witt went 0-for-2 with three walks, a run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 3-1 extra-inning loss to the Tigers.

Detroit made sure Witt wasn't going to make a big impact in a game with significant playoff implications for both teams, but he still found a way to contribute. Witt has produced back-to-back 30-30 campaigns, and the 24-year-old has taken his overall offensive game to another level in 2024 with a .331/.386/.598 slash line.

Castro went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a stolen base in Tuesday's win against Cleveland.

The Twins' utility man garnered a start in left field and cracked his 12th long ball of the season off reliever Nick Sandlin in the eighth to extend the lead to 4-1. Castro previously swiped his 14th base in the contest, as this performance marks the third time in his career that he's collected a homer and a steal in the same game. Overall, the 27-year-old is now slashing .250/.334/.394 with 83 runs scored and 57 RBI in 592 plate appearances across 148 games.

The Blue Jays reinstated Bichette (calf) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

Bichette went 4-for-14 with two RBI and a run scored across four games during his rehab assignment with Triple-A Buffalo. With a .595 OPS, the 25-year-old infielder is enduring his worst season at the plate over his six-year MLB career, but he figures to reclaim his role as Toronto's everyday shortstop now that he's healthy. Will Wagner (knee) was placed on the 60-day IL in a corresponding move.
