Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU
Astros' Aledmys Diaz: Called up by Houston
The Astros selected Diaz's contract Monday.
Diaz joined the Astros on a minor-league contract July 13 after being released by the Athletics one week prior. He'll be starting up his second stint in the big leagues with Houston, after previously appearing in 262 contests between 2019 and 2022. Before Oakland cut him loose, the 33-year-old utility man logged 30 plate appearances in the big leagues this season, slashing .103/.133/.103 with no extra-base hits.

Ryan Bliss SS | SEA
Mariners' Ryan Bliss: Moved back to Triple-A
The Mariners optioned Bliss to Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.
Bliss received his first MLB call-up May 27 and picked up 16 starts at second base in June, but playing time has been more difficult to come by in recent weeks. After Jorge Polanco returned from the injured list June 24 and took back everyday duties at the keystone, Bliss started just two of the Mariners' ensuing 21 games and went 0-for-10 with six strikeouts over that stretch. He'll get the opportunity to play on a more frequent basis with Tacoma.

Dylan Moore LF | PHI
Mariners' Dylan Moore: Laces key triple in win
Moore went 1-for-2 with a two-run triple and a walk in a win over the Astros on Sunday. He was also caught stealing on his only attempt.
The slugging veteran came into the day with just a single extra-base hit -- another three-bagger -- in his previous 16 games, but he snapped that rare drought with a second-inning laser that plated Josh Rojas and Luke Raley to give the Mariners an early 2-0 lead. The two RBI were also Moore's first since June 22, and despite Sunday's success, he's still carrying a .212 batting average that has plenty of room for improvement.

Jeremy Pena SS | HOU
Astros' Jeremy Pena: Homers in defeat
Pena went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Mariners.
Pena connected on a 414-foot blast in the seventh inning off Collin Snider. It was his third home run in July and his eighth for the season, though he's struggled to a .190 batting average in 11 games since July 6. After hitting 22 homers in his rookie season, Pena has combined for just 18 since, but he is still putting together a productive season. The 26-year-old is slashing .274/.318/.387 with 43 RBI, 48 runs and an 18:66 BB:K in 404 plate appearances.

David Hamilton SS | MIL
Red Sox's David Hamilton: Swipes two bags Sunday
Hamilton went 1-for-4 with two steals in Sunday's loss to the Red Sox.
Hamilton singled his first time up to lead off the second inning and wound up stealing second and third but was left stranded. It was the fifth time this year he stole multiple bases in a game, and Hamilton finds himself in a tie for third in the majors with 25 steals. The 26-year-old has yet to break through as an everyday player for the Red Sox, as he's been finding himself sitting against lefties. Still, Hamilton has shown plenty of improvement after struggling mightily in a brief taste of the majors last year. He's slashing .270/.323/.407 with five homers, 17 RBI, 34 runs and a 15:57 BB:K in 220 plate appearances.

Taylor Walls 3B | TB
Rays' Taylor Walls: Receiving Monday off
Walls is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Walls will get a breather for Monday's day game after he started each of the first three contests of the series versus the Yankees, going 1-for-7 with a double, three walks, a stolen base and a run. Jose Caballero will step in for Walls at shortstop.

Jose Caballero 2B | NYY
Rays' Jose Caballero: Taking advantage of playing time
Caballero went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI on Sunday against the Yankees.
Caballero has started all three of Tampa Bay's games since the All-Star break due to the absence of Yandy Diaz (personal), which has shifted Isaac Paredes to first base. Caballero has taken advantage, going 4-for-11 with a stolen base, a home run, two RBI and two runs scored.

Kevin McGonigle SS | DET
Tigers' Kevin McGonigle: Moves up to High-A
McGonigle was promoted to High-A West Michigan on Sunday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
McGonigle produced a .323/.404/.456 slash line with three home runs, 34 RBI, 39 runs and 19 stolen bases over 226 at-bats in 59 games with Single-A Lakeland, and he'll now take the next step in his professional career. Fellow 19-year-old Max Clark was also promoted Sunday, and the two athletes will look to impress with West Michigan for the remainder of the year.

Bobby Witt SS | KC
Royals' Bobby Witt: Collects three more hits in win
Witt went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Sunday's 4-1 win over the White Sox.
Witt has come out of the All-Star break on a tear with nine hits in 11 at-bats. His streak of three straight games with three hits is tied for the longest of his career. It's also tied for the third-longest streak in Royals history, behind Johnny Damon (four) and George Brett (six). Witt's hot run extends beyond the All-Star break, as he's been out of his mind over his last 15 games, slashing .508/.516/.864 with five homers and 13 RBI over that span. Since June 30, the 24-year-old has seen his batting average go from .307 to .337, second best in MLB behind Steven Kwan.

Gunnar Henderson 3B | BAL
Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Late addition to lineup
Henderson will start at shortstop and bat leadoff Sunday against the Rangers after initially being absent from the lineup, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.
Henderson appeared set to sit for just the second time all season but will instead take his usual spot atop the order for Baltimore. Ramon Urias will head to the bench as the odd man out of the Orioles' initial Sunday lineup.
