Kevin Smith DH | NYY
Athletics' Kevin Smith: Knocks fourth homer Sunday
Smith went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over the Brewers on Sunday.
Smith joined the Athletics' offensive barrage in the seventh inning, leaving the yard via a 383-foot shot to left field for his fourth homer of the season. The shortstop had been mired in a 3-for-20 slump over the eight games prior to Sunday's, but manager Mark Kotsay appears committed to continuing to afford Smith near-everyday playing time for the moment.

Zachary Neto SS | LAA
Angels' Zach Neto: Belts two home runs
Neto went 2-for-4 with two solo homers and three runs scored in Sunday's win over Seattle.
Neto ripped a solo homer in the second and eighth innings, snapping a 14-game homerless drought. After ending May in a 1-for-19 skid, the rookie shortstop has gone 8-for-23 (.348) with a 4:5 BB:K and seven runs scored in June. He boosted his season slash line to .253/.337/.404 with 15 extra-base hits, five steals and 20 RBI through 190 plate appearances.

Wander Franco SS | TB
Rays' Wander Franco: Ends homer drought
Franco went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Rangers.
Franco went over a month between homers, with his last coming May 9 in Baltimore. The shortstop hit a solid .276 over that 27-game span, but he slugged just .362 in the same stretch. His long ball Sunday was his career-best eighth of the campaign, coming in just his 63rd contest. He's added 32 RBI, 41 runs scored, 22 stolen bases, 19 doubles and two triples while slashing .299/.360/.486.

Anthony Volpe SS | NYY
Yankees' Anthony Volpe: Receives Sunday off
Volpe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.
After sitting out the front end of a doubleheader with the White Sox on Thursday, Volpe proceeded to start in each of the subsequent three games but recorded just one hit in 10 at-bats over that stretch to bring his batting average down to .187 for the season. The Yankees aren't yet ready to pull the plug on Volpe as their everyday shortstop, though he'll likely have a shorter leash than he did earlier in the season with his production trending down in a hurry.

Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU
Athletics' Aledmys Diaz: Primary source of offense Saturday
Diaz went 3-for-4 with a game-winning RBI single and a double in an extra-inning victory over the Brewers on Saturday.
The struggling veteran put together his best offensive performance of the season yet, and it led to an unprecedented fourth straight win for Oakland. Diaz has now hit safely in three straight games to quickly boost his average 29 points to .208, and manager Mark Kotsay's willingness to stick with him as a rotational piece throughout the infield despite extended stretches of sparse production is paying off for the moment.

Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Gets Sunday off
Anderson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game versus Miami.
Anderson gets a breather after going 2-for-9 with a double in the first two games of the series against Miami, and the veteran shortstop has registered just a .624 OPS over his 30 at-bats in June. Elvis Andrus gets the start at shortstop and will hit ninth while Anderson rests.
-
Jorge Mateo SS | ATL
Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Takes seat against KC
Mateo is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's finale against Kansas City, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Mateo has struggled in June to the tune of a .217/.217/.261 slash over eight games, and he went just 1-for-7 over the first two games of the series versus the Royals. Gunnar Henderson is leading off and playing shortstop while Ramon Urias moves to third base while Mateo sits.

Jeremy Pena SS | HOU
Astros' Jeremy Pena: Gets rest Sunday
Pena is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.
Pena will take a seat along with second baseman Jose Altuve and catcher Martin Maldonado in what looks to be a rest day, with Sunday's series finale beginning at 12:40 p.m. ET. Grae Kessinger will get a turn at shortstop in place of Pena, who is slashing .256/.310/.333 with seven runs but no home runs, stolen bases or RBI through his first nine games of June.

Corey Seager SS | TEX
Rangers' Corey Seager: Racks up five hits, four RBI
Seager went 5-for-5 with a double, a home run, two total runs and four total RBI in Saturday's 8-4 victory over the Rays.
Seager came into the contest in what can be considered a mini-slump in light of his overall body of work this season, as he had gone 1-for-12 with four strikeouts over his previous three contests. The shortstop got back on track in emphatic fashion against Tampa Bay, notching his first career five-hit game, which included a two-run double and a two-run homer. Seager's batting average shot up 27 points to .352 as a result of the big performance, and he's added seven homers, 13 doubles, 33 RBI and 23 runs through 144 plate appearances on the season.

Carlos Correa SS | HOU
Twins' Carlos Correa: Swats game-winning slam
Correa went 1-for-5 with a grand slam in Saturday's 9-4 win over the Blue Jays.
With the Twins down 3-1 in the eighth inning, the shortstop clubbed a slider from Adam Cimber into the left-field seats to put his team in the lead for good. Correa has gone yard twice in the last three games, giving him eight homers on the season, but he continues to have trouble building any real momentum at the plate -- over his last 10 games, he's batting just .194 (7-for-36).
