Astros' Nick Allen: Nursing hamstring injury

Allen was removed from Sunday's game against the Athletics due to left hamstring discomfort.

Allen injured his hamstring while running to first base on a single in the third inning, with Taylor Trammell entering the game as a pinch runner. The Astros should have a better sense of the severity of Allen's injury once he undergoes more tests.

Astros' Nick Allen: Exits Sunday's game

Allen was removed from Sunday's game against the Athletics due to an apparent leg injury, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Allen appeared to sustain the injury while running to first base on a single in the bottom of the third inning. He left the game with a trainer, and the Astros should have an update on Allen's status once he undergoes more tests. Taylor Trammell replaced Allen as a pinch runner, and the former will stay in the game in left field after Brice Matthews was moved to second base.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Rangers' Corey Seager: Not in Sunday's lineup

Seager is not in the Rangers' starting lineup against the Guardians on Sunday.

Seager will get a breather after going 2-for-8 with a two-run home run in two games since being activated from the 10-day injured list Thursday. Ezequiel Duran will start at shortstop while Justin Foscue mans second base.

  • Darell Hernaiz SS | ATH

Athletics' Darell Hernaiz: Out of Sunday's lineup

Hernaiz is not in the Athletics' starting lineup against the Astros on Sunday.

Hernaiz has struggled at the plate as of late, having gone 1-for-19 with two walks and six strikeouts over his last seven outings. He'll be on the bench for Sunday's series finale while Alika Williams starts at shortstop and bats ninth.

  • Brayan Rocchio SS | CLE

Guardians' Brayan Rocchio: Clouts homer in win

Rocchio went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 6-0 win over the Rangers.

Rocchio ignited the Guardians' four-run fifth inning with his fifth home run of the season. He's not required to do much more than keep the line moving from the ninth spot in the order and has done that well. Rocchio is slashing .283/.361/.410 with 29 RBI, 11 steals and 28 runs over 63 games.

  • J.P. Crawford SS | SEA

Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Not in Sunday's lineup

Crawford (hand) is not in the Mariners' starting lineup against the Tigers on Sunday.

Crawford will be out of the lineup for a second consecutive game while tending to a hand injury that he sustained in Friday's series opener. Colt Emerson will once again start at shortstop while Patrick Wisdom operates at third base.

  • Max Muncy 3B | ATH

Athletics' Max Muncy: Raking on rehab assignment

Muncy (hand) went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer, an additional run scored and a walk Saturday with Triple-A Las Vegas.

Muncy continued to mash on his rehab assignment as he completes his recovery from a fractured fifth metacarpal in his left hand. The 23-year-old is slashing .375/.385/.708 with two homers, two doubles, eight RBI and five runs across six rehab appearances with the Aviators. It shouldn't be long before he's activated and returns to the big-league roster, though it remains to be seen whether Muncy will reclaim his role as the primary third baseman. Zack Gelof has performed well at the hot corner in his absence, though the defensive versatility of both players should provide the A's with multiple avenues to get both of them in the lineup.

  • Zachary Neto SS | LAA

Angels' Zach Neto: Homers in loss

Neto went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 9-2 loss to the Dodgers.

Neto ended a 10-game power drought when he took Jack Dreyer deep in the ninth inning. Neto is now batting .232 with a .776 OPS, 11 homers, 28 RBI, 43 runs scored, 10 stolen bases, 14 doubles and a triple over 62 games this season. He's gone 13-for-41 (.317) over his last 12 contests.

  • White Sox's Colson Montgomery: Goes deep in win

Montgomery went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Phillies.

Montgomery walked and scored a run in the first inning before launching a solo blast in the third. Including Saturday's performance, the 24-year-old has gone just 2-for-20 to open June, but he has left the yard three times over his past seven games. On the season, he's slashing .223/.317/.476 with 16 homers, 38 RBI, 30 runs scored and one stolen base across 265 plate appearances.

  • Jacob Wilson SS | ATH

Athletics' Jacob Wilson: Beginning rehab assignment

Wilson (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday, Jason Burke of Roundtable.io reports.

Wilson has been sidelined by a partial left shoulder dislocation since mid-May, but he's now been given the green light to begin testing his shoulder in a competitive setting. The A's haven't said exactly how many minor-league games they plan to have the 24-year-old play, but he figures to come off the injured list sometime next week.
