Royals' Adalberto Mondesi: Leaves with apparent injury
Mondesi was removed from Tuesday's game against the White Sox with an apparent leg injury, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
Mondesi reached on an infield single during the sixth inning and appeared to suffer the injury while returning to first base on a pickoff attempt. The 26-year-old finished 1-for-2 with an RBI and a walk and should be considered day-to-day until his status is updated.

Bo Bichette 3B | NYM
Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Beats Boston with first career slam
Bichette went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Monday's 6-2 win over the Red Sox.
With the score tied 2-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning and the bases loaded, Bichette drove a Matt Strahm sinker on the outer half of the plate to right field for his first career slam. The 24-year-old shortstop has had a sluggish start to 2022 that includes an uncharacteristic 28.0 percent strikeout rate, but Monday's homer -- his second of the season -- could be a sign Bichette is about to break out.

Andrew Velazquez SS | TEX
Angels' Andrew Velazquez: Steps out of lineup
Velazquez is not in the lineup for Monday's game against Cleveland, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.
The 27-year-old was promoted April 12 and has started the past 11 games at shortstop with David Fletcher (hip) on the injured list, but he'll take a seat for Monday's series opener. Velazquez has a .139/.238/.167 slash line with a double, two RBI, five runs and two stolen bases in 42 plate appearances. Tyler Wade will shift to shortstop while Matt Duffy starts at the keystone.

Red Sox's Trevor Story: Not starting Monday
Story isn't starting Monday against the Blue Jays.
Story led off in the last four games and went 4-for-17 with a double, three runs, a stolen base, a walk and three strikeouts. He'll get a breather while Christian Arroyo starts at the keystone and bats eighth.

Adalberto Mondesi SS | BOS
Royals' Adalberto Mondesi: Swipes two bags
Mondesi went 0-for-4 with a walk and two stolen bases in a 5-4 loss Sunday in Seattle.
Mondesi walked and stole second in the seventh and added another stolen base as the automatic runner in the 12th. He struck out in his other four plate appearances. The positives for the shortstop this season are that he is 5-for-5 in stolen base attempts and has yet to make an error. Other than that, his .301 OPS and nearly 40 percent strikeout rate are providing little, if not negative, offensive value.

Jeremy Pena SS | HOU
Astros' Jeremy Pena: Hammers walkoff homer
Pena went 1-for-5 with a two-run homer and two runs scored in Sunday's 8-7 win over Toronto.
Pena crushed a walkoff blast in the 10th inning off Jordan Romano. The rookie shortstop also scored a run in the second frame after grounding into a fielder's choice. It was his third home run of the season and he's now up to six RBI with seven extra-base hits through 57 career plate appearances.

Jorge Mateo SS | ATL
Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Doubles, swipes bag
Mateo went 1-for-4 with a double and a stolen base in a 7-6 loss Sunday against the Angels.
Mateo doubled and stole third base in the sixth inning but was left stranded. The shortstop has stolen a base in three straight games and leads baseball with seven swipes. The 26-year-old moved up to seventh in the Orioles' lineup after hitting eighth or ninth in most of the games this season.

Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Goes deep, swipes bag
Anderson went 2-for-5 with a solo homer, a stolen base and two runs scored in Sunday's 6-4 loss to the Twins.
Anderson drilled a leadoff homer on the first pitch of the game to put the White Sox on top in the first inning; it was his first long ball since April 13. The star shortstop then singled and stole second in the third. He improved his slash line to .313/.327/.521 with six extra-base hits and three steals through 49 plate appearances.

David Fletcher 2B | ATL
Angels' David Fletcher: Could return Monday
Angels athletic trainer Mike Frostad said Fletcher (hip) will be medically cleared to return from the 10-day injured list following his rehab game Sunday with Triple-A Salt Lake, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.
With the Angels' medical team giving Fletcher the green light to rejoin the big club, it'll be up to Los Angeles' front office to decide whether to bring the 27-year-old back from the IL in advance of Monday's series opener with the Guardians. Fletcher, who has been out of the Angels lineup since April 11 with a left hip strain, went hitless with a walk over eight at-bats during his first two rehab games for Salt Lake.
