Manager Dave Roberts said that Rojas (forearm) is scheduled to play in a simulated game Thursday at Dodger Stadium, MLB.com reports.

On the shelf since July 24 with right forearm tightness, Rojas has already started ramping up his swinging and is set to face live pitching during the upcoming week. Roberts said that Rojas won't require a minor-league rehab assignment before being activated from the 10-day injured list, leaving the door open for the 35-year-old to rejoin the big club as soon as this weekend. Whenever Rojas is reinstated, he'll likely displace Nick Ahmed as the team's primary shortstop.

Luciano is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Luciano made four straight starts after being called up by the Giants on Tuesday, but he'll head to the bench Sunday after going 3-for-13 with a double, two runs and seven strikeouts. Patrick Bailey will rest his legs as the designated hitter while Curt Casali receives a start behind the plate.

Perdomo went 3-for-3 with two doubles and a run scored in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Pirates.

The shortstop also reached base in his fourth plate appearance as he got plunked by a Dennis Santana fastball in the fifth inning. Perdomo has racked up 10 knocks during his current five-game hitting streak, and since the beginning of July he's put together a .295/.340/.409 slash line with two steals, 12 RBI and 20 runs over 25 contests despite mainly batting ninth in the order -- a benefit of having Corbin Carroll and Ketel Marte hitting behind him once the lineup turns over.

The Dodgers are hopeful that Betts (hand) will be ready to return from the 10-day injured list during their next road trip, which begins Aug. 12 in Milwaukee, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Betts has been out since mid-June after suffering a fracture in his left wrist/hand, but he took batting practice with the team Wednesday. The Dodgers will begin their next road trip in Milwaukee with a four-game set with the Brewers before playing three games in St. Louis. If the timeline holds true, Betts will likely begin a minor-league rehab assignment in the coming days.

Wisely isn't in the Giants' lineup for Saturday's game against Cincinnati, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Wisely has gone 2-for-12 with two RBI over his past seven games, and he'll now get a chance to rest as the Giants prepare to take on Hunter Greene and the Reds. Casey Schmitt will get the nod at second and bat ninth.

Schmitt went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-0 win over the Reds.

Schmitt's lone hit of the game opened the scoring in the second inning, and it was all the run support Blake Snell needed in his no-hitter. Over four contests since rejoining the major-league roster, Schmitt has gone 3-for-11 with two home runs and a triple. The infielder doesn't have an immediate path to everyday playing time, especially when he has Brett Wisely and Marco Luciano to compete with in the middle infield. For the season, Schmitt is slashing .231/.255/.519 with four homers, eight RBI, eight runs scored and no stolen bases over 55 plate appearances.

Edwards went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two stolen bases in Friday's loss to Atlanta.

The switch hitter continues to be a terror on the basepaths, going 8-for-8 on steal attempts over the last 11 games. Edwards is also batting an absurd .447 (17-for-38) during that stretch with eight runs, eight RBI and a 7:8 BB:K, and he's cementing his spot as the Marlins' shortstop, and leadoff hitter, of the present and future.

Cruz went 5-for-5 with a double, two runs scored, two RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 9-8 loss to the Diamondbacks.

The Pirates as a team managed only 13 hits in total, but Cruz nearly single-handedly kept them in the game with the first five-hit performance of his young career. The 25-year-old shortstop is slashing .311/.357/.589 over 23 games since the beginning of July with five homers, four steals, 15 runs and 20 RBI despite a 32.7 percent strikeout rate during that stretch.

Fitzgerald went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double and two RBI in Friday's win over the Reds.

Fitzgerald knocked an RBI double in the second inning and added an insurance run with a solo blast in the seventh. He was stuck in a small 3-for-20 skid before Friday's big performance. Over the last 14 games, he's gone 19-for-52 (.365) with 13 extra-base knocks, including nine homers. The hot stretch has pushed Fitzgerald's season slash line to .313/.371/.633 through 140 plate appearances.

Arcia went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Friday's win against the Marlins.

The Atlanta shortstop opened the scoring for his team when he slugged a 399-foot solo shot off Valente Bellozo in the fifth inning. Arcia later added another RBI on a single in the eighth to stretch the Atlanta lead to 5-3. The 29-year-old has been hot since the All-Star break, hitting .356 (16-for-45) with four homers, five runs scored and eight RBI across 14 games. He is currently riding a 13-game hit streak.
