Geraldo Perdomo SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Logs two walks, steal in win
Perdomo batted second and went 0-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base in Tuesday's 3-1 win over Miami.
Perdomo logged his fifth steal of the season in the eighth inning but was stranded at second base. Tuesday's contest marked the fourth time in the last nine games in which Perdomo slotted into the upper third of the lineup. He typically bats eighth or ninth, but a strong month of August (.302/.389/.413) could get Perdomo more opportunities higher in the order.

C.J. Abrams SS | WAS
Nationals' CJ Abrams: Homers in loss
Abrams went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Rockies.
Abrams provided the Nationals' only offense when he took Austin Gomber deep in the bottom of the sixth inning. The shortstop has gone just 7-for-34 over his past 10 games but has tallied a homer and three steals in his most recent two. On the season, he is hitting .248 with 18 long balls, 60 RBI, 72 runs scored and 25 steals across 514 plate appearances.

Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Homers in win Tuesday
Swanson went 1-for-2 with a walk and a solo home run in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Tigers.
The Cubs only mustered five total hits, but Swanson provided the big jolt of the night as he popped his 10th home run of the season and first since July 11. The shortstop had at least 20 long balls in each of the last three years, though he's running out of time to reach that mark in 2024. On a more positive note, Swanson is at least batting .302 this month.

Ha-seong Kim SS | SD
Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Goes on injured list
The Padres placed Kim on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with right shoulder inflammation.
Kim received somewhat favorable MRI results after he jammed his shoulder during Sunday's game against Colorado, but the team ultimately decided to put him on the shelf after further evaluation. Tyler Wade will presumably take over as the Padres' primary shortstop while Kim is out, and Matthew Batten will come up from Triple-A to provide additional depth in the infield.

Miguel Rojas SS | LAD
Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Not in Tuesday's lineup
Rojas is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mariners.
Rojas started the previous five games and will receive a day off after going 7-for-17 with a double, two RBI and three runs during that stretch. Tommy Edman will shift to shortstop while Kevin Kiermaier starts in center field.

Ha-seong Kim SS | SD
Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Remaining on bench Tuesday
Kim (shoulder) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
The 28-year-old jammed his right shoulder during Sunday's contest and received somewhat favorable MRI results Monday, but he'll sit Tuesday for the second consecutive. It remains to be seen if Kim will require a trip to the injured list as he continues to be evaluated. Tyler Wade is receiving another start at shortstop Tuesday for the Friars.

Blaze Alexander SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Blaze Alexander: Optioned to Triple-A
The Diamondbacks optioned Alexander to Triple-A Reno on Tuesday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
He's clearing out to make room on the roster for Luis Guillorme, who was signed Tuesday. Alexander's latest stint in the majors lasted less than a week and he went hitless in 10 plate appearances.

Kevin Newman 3B | LAA
Diamondbacks' Kevin Newman: Fills in second base again
Newman started at second base and went 0-for-3 in Monday's 9-6 win over Miami.
Newman filled in at second base for the injured Ketel Marte (ankle), who was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday. Newman, who had seen a spike in playing time while Marte was day-to-day for the previous 10 days, should be the primary second baseman while Marte is unavailable.

Luis Vazquez SS | CHC
Cubs' Luis Vazquez: Returns to action at Triple-A
Triple-A Iowa reinstated Vazquez (undisclosed) from the 7-day injured list Tuesday.
Vazquez hadn't seen any action since July 6 due to an unspecified injury prior to being activated. He's looked sharp at the dish in four games since, going 5-for-14 with three home runs.

Nick Ahmed SS | SD
Dodgers' Nick Ahmed: DFA'd by Dodgers
Ahmed was designated for assignment by Los Angeles on Monday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Ahmed has seen his playing time dwindle over the last few weeks, totaling only 24 at-bats so far in August. Following the return of Tommy Edman (wrist) and Max Muncy (oblique) from the injured list Monday, the club has elected to send the veteran shortstop to the waiver wire.
