Rojas is not in the starting lineup Monday versus the Blue Jays, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Rojas will get a breather after he went 2-for-10 with three walks, four runs scored and a stolen base over the team's series in Texas. Chris Taylor will start at shortstop and bat seventh in the series opener with the Blue Jays.

Berti went 1-for-3 with a double in Sunday's extra-inning win over the Rockies.

Getting the start at shortstop and batting sixth, Berti extended his hit streak to six games, a stretch in which he's gone 10-for-17 (.588) with two stolen bases and four runs scored. The 33-year-old has slipped back into a super-utility role with the Marlins mostly healthy -- over the last five games, he's started twice at shortstop and once each at third base and in left field -- and he seems to be more comfortable with that assignment. On the season, Berti's slashing .292/.335/.372 in 271 plate appearances with two homers, 11 steals, 18 RBI and 35 runs.

De La Cruz went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 7-3 win over Arizona.

De La Cruz, who returned to the lineup after a one-day respite, led off the bottom of the first inning with his fifth homer in 40 games. The blast comes at a time when the electrifying rookie is mired in his first major slump. De La Cruz entered the game just 2-for-31 with 15 strikeouts since the All-Star break.

Swanson went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI in Sunday's 7-2 win over the Cardinals.

Swanson has tallied two hits in consecutive contests and four times over his last five games. The burst has pushed his season batting average up to .264, which is still a bit below the .277 figure the shortstop posted last year with Atlanta. However, Swanson could reach that mark if he keeps up his recent level of performance.

Wendle is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

The lefty-hitting Wendle will retreat to the bench while Colorado brings southpaw Ty Blach to the hill for the series finale. Jon Berti will step in for Wendle at shortstop and bat sixth.

Schmitt will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Schmitt will stick in the lineup for a seventh consecutive game and looks poised to serve as the Giants' primary shortstop against both right- and left-handed pitching while Brandon Crawford (knee) is on the shelf. Since opening his big-league career with 26 hits in his first 20 games, Schmitt is batting an abysmal .124 with no home runs, eight runs and seven RBI over his subsequent 39 contests.

Abrams went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional run in a 10-1 victory versus the Giants on Saturday.

Abrams punctuated a big second inning for Washington with a two-run homer that gave the Nationals a 6-0 lead and resulted in San Francisco starter Logan Webb getting the hook. The long ball was the second in as many days for Abrams, and the multi-hit performance was his eighth over his past 10 contests. Over that span, the shortstop is batting .419 (18-for-43) with three homers, five RBI, 13 runs and seven stolen bases.

Perdomo will sit Saturday against Cincinnati, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.

The switch-hitting shortstop has broke out to the tune of a .278/.385/.408 slash line (good for a 119 wRC+) this season, but the Diamondbacks have been hesitant to use him against lefties like Saturday's starter Brandon Williamson. Perdomo has started only three times against a southpaw all season, and he'll again turn the reins over to Nick Ahmed at shortstop Saturday.

De La Cruz will be on the bench for Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks.

De La Cruz sits for just the second time since being called up in early June. He's been stuck in a slump since the break, going 2-for-31 with 15 strikeouts and dropping his OPS from .887 to .757. The arrival of Christian Encarnacion-Strand crowds the Reds' roster, and the team is in the thick of a playoff race, so De La Cruz will need to keep performing to remain in an everyday role down the stretch.

Swanson (heel) was activated off the 10-day injured list Saturday, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Swanson hasn't played in a little over two weeks after bruising his heel in early July, but he's ready to go without a rehab assignment. The shortstop has had a fine first season in Chicago, slashing .258/.343/.409, though his four steals in 83 games are a disappointment from a fantasy perspective after he swiped a career-high 18 bags last season. It remains to be seen if the heel issue will have any lingering effects on his willingness to take off on the bases. Jared Young was optioned to clear space for Swanson's return.
