Pirates' Oneil Cruz: Delivers three-run blast

Cruz went 1-for-4 with a walk and a three-run home run Monday against the Brewers.

Cruz took Corbin Burnes deep in the fifth inning to tally his 11th home run of the season. He's still in the midst of an extended slump, as he's hit only .163 with a 42.9 percent strikeout rate across his last 14 starts -- including Monday. Even so, he's shown signs of being an excellent source of power and speed, delivering six stolen bases in addition to his 11 homers across 56 games this season.

Brewers' Willy Adames: Knocks three hits

Adames went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI in Monday's 7-5 win over the Pirates.

Adames singled three times Monday, including an RBI base knock in the third inning to open the game's scoring. The 26-year-old shortstop is now 22-for-74 (.297) with 21 RBI in 17 games against the Pirates. Adames has posted seven multi-hit games this month, resulting in a .274 average and 14 runs scored through 25 contests.

  • Luke Williams SS | ATL

Marlins' Luke Williams: Returns to bench

Williams is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers, Paige Leckie of MLB.com reports.

Williams will be back in his usual bench role for the series finale after he struck out in all three of his at-bats while starting in left field during Sunday's 8-1 loss. The 26-year-old is expected to see occasional starts down the stretch, with most of his opportunities coming against left-handed pitching.

  • Miguel Rojas SS | LAD

    Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Resting Monday

Rojas is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers, Paige Leckie of MLB.com reports.

He'll get a breather for the series finale after going 5-for-21 with a double, two RBI and a run while starting at shortstop in each of the Marlins' previous five contests. Charles Leblanc will get a look in the middle infield while Rojas rests.

  • Marco Luciano SS | NYY

Giants' Marco Luciano: Moves past leg issue

Luciano (leg) has gone 1-for-8 with an RBI while starting in both of High-A Eugene's last two games Saturday and Sunday.

Luciano was out of action for just a couple days after he exited a game Wednesday due to leg tightness. The 20-year-old shortstop owns a .285/.354/.500 slash line with nine home runs and a 21.4 percent strikeout rate over 48 games with Eugene on the campaign.

The homer snapped an 18-game drought for Swanson, who hit .273 with 15 RBI, 11 runs scored, two steals and six doubles in that span. For the season, the star shortstop is up to 17 long balls, 76 RBI, 84 runs scored, 16 steals and a .289/.342/.449 slash line through 552 plate appearances.

  • Tommy Edman 2B | LAD

Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Lifts game-tying homer

Edman went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 6-3 win over Atlanta.

Edman's lone hit in this three-game series came in the eighth inning off Atlanta reliever A.J. Minter. It was a game-tying solo shot, which was also Edman's fourth extra-base hit in his last six games. In that span, he's gone 7-for-24 (.292) with four RBI, five runs and two steals. The 27-year-old has slashed .253/.315/.378 with 10 homers, 44 RBI, 82 runs scored and 26 steals through 124 contests this season, though his productivity could take a hit as he's remained at the bottom of the order in recent games in favor of Lars Nootbaar as the leadoff hitter.

  • Cubs' Reginald Preciado: Back in action at Single-A

Preciado (knee) has gone 1-for-8 with an RBI and a stolen base in two games since being reinstated from Single-A Myrtle Beach's 7-day injured list Thursday.

Preciado last played for Myrtle Beach on June 12 before making his return to action for the affiliate nearly two and a half months later following a left knee injury. The switch-hitting 19-year-old is slashing .211/.274/.303 across 158 plate appearances on the season for Myrtle Beach.

Crawford went 8-for-30 (.267) with one home run, one double, four RBI and two runs scored during the Giants' eight-game road trip that concluded Sunday. He was their most effective hitter in this loss. For the season, the veteran shortstop has struggled to a .225/.306/.347 slash line with seven home runs, 41 RBI, 36 runs scored and one stolen base through 90 contests, though he's still seeing a near-everyday role when healthy.
