C.J. Abrams SS | WAS
Padres' CJ Abrams: Scratched from Saturday's lineup
Abrams was scratched from Saturday's lineup against the Mets for an undisclosed reason, Bob Scanlan of Bally Sports San Diego reports.
All we know is that Ha-Seong Kim replaced Abrams in the lineup at shortstop. Consider Abrams day-to-day for now.

Orlando Arcia SS | MIN
Braves' Orlando Arcia: Swats fifth homer
Arcia went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Friday's 8-1 win over the Angels.
Robinson Cano got the start at second base but was lifted early due to dizziness, so Arcia wound up seeing a full night's worth of playing time. The 27-year-old utility player took advantage in the seventh inning by crushing a first-pitch slider from a fading Shohei Ohtani to left field for his fifth homer of the year, breaking open what was a 3-0 game. He hasn't seen much action since Cano was added to the roster, but if the latter winds up missing more time, Arcia would take over as the starter at the keystone in the short term.

Joey Wendle 2B | ATL
Marlins' Joey Wendle: Collects three hits
Wendle went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI in Friday's 8-1 win over Pittsburgh.
Wendle knocked an RBI single off Zach Thompson in the fourth inning followed by an RBI double against Dillon Peters in the sixth. It was his sixth multi-game of the month and he's now hitting 18-for-58 (.310) in 17 July contests. On the year, Wendle is slashing .295/.346/.411 with 18 RBI and 13 extra-base hits through 46 games.

Matt McLain SS | CIN
Reds' Matt McLain: Activated from 7-day IL
McLain (wrist) was activated from the 7-day injured list Friday, Doug Gray of RedsMinorLeagues.com reports.
The 22-year-old will be active with Double-A Chattanooga for the first time since late June, joining Elly De La Cruz in the infield. McLain has produced a .233 average with 12 homers, 35 RBI, 42 runs and 16 stolen bases over 219 at-bats in 59 games with Chattanooga this year.

Kahlil Watson SS | CLE
Marlins' Kahlil Watson: Back in action
Watson (not injury related) was activated by the Marlins on Friday, Joe Frisaro of ManOnSecondBaseball.com reports.
Watson hasn't played since July 1 due to a disciplinary reason, but he'll return to game action with the Marlins' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate after missing three weeks. The 19-year-old appeared in 59 games at Single-A Jupiter earlier in the year and slashed .221/.274/.372 with eight homers, 36 runs, 35 RBI and 12 stolen bases.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Beginning light activity
Crawford (knee) will throw and do some light activity Thursday, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Crawford received a cortisone shot in his left knee Sunday and will resume baseball activity Thursday for the first time since being placed on the injured list July 26. Assuming he ramps up without issue, Crawford could return when first eligible Tuesday in Arizona.

Matt McLain SS | CIN
Reds' Matt McLain: Could return from IL next week
McLain, who is on the 7-day injured list at Double-A Chattanooga with a wrist injury, is expected to return to action at some point next week, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
Once McLain is ready to play again, he'll be joined in the Chattanooga infield by top prospect Elly De La Cruz, who was promoted from High-A Dayton on Wednesday. De La Cruz bounced between shortstop and third base during his time at Dayton and is expected to continue seeing reps at both positions, which should allow a healthy McLain to see consistent time at the two middle-infield spots. Before he was deactivated in late June, McLain slashed .233/.349/.461 with 12 home runs and 16 stolen bases across 261 plate appearances for the Double-A club.

Elly De La Cruz SS | CIN
Reds' Elly De La Cruz: Opening second half at Double-A
The Reds promoted Cruz from High-A Dayton to Double-A Chattanooga on Wednesday, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
The switch-hitting infielder's promotion comes after he took part in the All-Star Futures Game over the weekend. De La Cruz, the Reds' top prospect, earned the invite to the exhibition game after slashing .306/.363/.609 with 19 home runs and 28 stolen bases across 306 plate appearances for Dayton. As he makes the jump to Chattanooga, De La Cruz is expected to split his time between both third base and shortstop so that fellow top prospect Matt McLain (wrist) can continue to see his fair share of time at the latter position.

Paul DeJong SS | NYY
Cardinals' Paul DeJong: Named Player of the Week
DeJong was named the International League Player of the Week on Tuesday.
DeJong returned from a hand injury last Tuesday and hit .364 with three home runs, 11 RBI and seven runs scored in six games. The shortstop is up to 14 homers and 17 RBI in 46 games with Triple-A Memphis. He's batting .236, but an .811 OPS shows he's been able to flex some power since he was sent down in May. A little more consistency with the bat could get the 28-year-old a look for a promotion later in the summer if the Cardinals need infield depth.
