    Rockies' Trevor Story: Exits Sunday's game

    Story exited Sunday's game against Arizona in the bottom of the eighth inning due to an apparent finger injury, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

    Story was hit by a pitch on his right index finger in the top of the eighth inning Sunday, and he was replaced defensively in the bottom half of the frame. Prior to his departure, he went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and a strikeout. It's not clear whether Story will be able to return for Monday's series opener against the Giants.

    Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Sits with injury

    Rojas didn't play during Sunday's loss to the Nationals due to tightness in his hamstring and hip, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

    It appears to be a minor injury, but by sitting Sunday the 32-year-old will receive two days to recover with Monday's scheduled off day. Rojas should be considered day-to-day entering Tuesday's series opener against the Diamondbacks.

    Crawford (calf) is not in the lineup Sunday against the Padres, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

    The 34-year-old will sit for the second straight contest after suffering a left calf bruise when hit by a pitch during Friday's game. Mauricio Dubon will receive another start at shortstop with Crawford sidelined.

    Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Not starting Sunday

    Ahmed is out of the lineup Sunday versus Colorado.

    Ahmed started the the past seven games and will take a seat Sunday after going 7-for-25 with three doubles, two RBI and four runs during that stretch. Josh Rojas will start at shortstop and bat sixth in the series finale for Arizona.

    Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Heads to bench Sunday

    Rojas is out of the lineup Sunday at Washington, Joe Frisaro of ManOnSecondBaseball.com reports.

    Rojas started the last six games but will receive a breather Sunday after going 3-for-23 during that stretch. Jose Devers will start at shortstop and bat seventh for Miami in the series finale.

    Turner went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and a run Saturday in the Nationals' 7-2 win over the Marlins.

    Turner is now a perfect 7-for-7 on stolen-base attempts this season, with his total placing him only one behind the Athletics' Ramon Laureano and the Royals' Whit Merrifield for the MLB lead. The shortstop has supplemented the stolen-base production with six home runs through 97 plate appearances, putting him well on pace to surpass his previous career high (19 in 2018 and 2019) in the category.

    Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Four hits in big win

    Edman went 4-for-6 with a double and a run scored in Saturday's 12-5 win over the Pirates.

    The switch hitter continues to thrive at the top of the Cards' order. Edman has gone 12-for-34 (.353) over the last eight games, pushing his slash line on the season to .295/.347/.402 with two homers, four steals, six RBI and 14 runs through 27 contests.

    Cardinals' Paul DeJong: Clubs sixth homer

    DeJong went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Saturday's 12-5 win over the Pirates.

    He got the Cards' offensive eruption started by taking Trevor Cahill deep in the first inning. DeJong had been in a funk at the plate, going 4-for-32 (.125) over his prior nine games with zero extra-base hits, but despite a .167/.272/.367 slash line on the season the shortstop has six homers and 13 RBI through 25 contests.

    Story went 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBI, three additional runs scored and a walk in a win over the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

    Story hit his third home run of the season off Caleb Smith in the sixth inning. He has scored seven runs over his last four games and is slashing .283/.336/.495 in 110 plate appearances this year.

  • Giants' Brandon Crawford: Not starting Saturday

    Crawford (calf) will sit Saturday against the Padres, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

    Crawford left Friday's series opener with a left calf contusion and will sit for at least one game. Mauricio Dubon takes over at shortstop in his absence, though the veteran may be available off the bench.
