  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Nationals' Trea Turner: Leads Nats to win Saturday

Turner went 2-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run, two runs scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Marlins.

The fifth-inning blast, his 13th home run in just 72 big-league games this season, proved to be the difference. Despite the late call-up, Turner has put himself firmly in the conversation for NL Rookie of the Year with a .342/.367/.569 slash line, 53 runs scored and 32 steals.

  • Marlins' Dee Gordon: Out of Saturday's lineup

Gordon is not in Saturday's lineup against the Nationals, MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports.

Gordon, along with several other Marlins regulars, is out of the lineup as the Marlins give some reserves the opportunity to take the field as they play out the string. Derek Dietrich will start at second base and lead off against righty Tanner Roark.

  • Dansby Swanson SS | CHC

Braves' Dansby Swanson: Homers Thursday against Phillies

Swanson went 1-for-3 with a walk, homer and scored twice in Thursday's win over Philadelphia.

With his homer, Swanson continues to show he's slowly adjusting to big league pitching. All three of the shortstop's home runs have come since Sept. 6. During that span, the 22-year-old has batted .354 (23-for-65) with eight extra-base hits, 13 RBI and 14 runs.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Dodgers' Corey Seager: Not in Thursday lineup

Seager is absent from Thursday's lineup against the Padres, Eric Stephen of True Blue LA reports.

It's likely just a day of rest for the elite shortstop. Expect him to be back in there Friday. Charlie Culberson is taking his spot and batting second Thursday against San Diego left-hander Christian Friedrich.

  • Giants' Brandon Crawford: Leads league in triples

Crawford went 4-for-5 with a two triples, two RBI and a pair of runs scored in Tuesday's blowout win over the Rockies.

Crawford had missed some time with a finger injury last week, but Tuesday's performance is as good as any indicator that he is fully healthy. His two triples Tuesday brought his season total to 11, which puts him in a tie for the league lead in that category.

  • Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU

Cardinals' Aledmys Diaz: Back in action Tuesday

Diaz (personal) is back in the lineup Tuesday against the Reds.

Diaz was away from the team for one game, but he'll re-enter the lineup now that he's back in town. The 26-year-old will take over at shortstop and bat seventh in the Cardinals batting order.

  • Marlins' Dee Gordon: Hits leadoff homer Monday

Gordon went 4-for-5 with a pair of RBI, a steal and a leadoff home run in the first inning Monday against the Mets.

Gordon's home run came off Bartolo Colon's the third pitch of the game, and his four-hit night helped spark the Marlins to seven runs off the Mets' starter. It was Gordon's first home run of the season and his 10th steal in the last 15 games, a stretch over which he's hitting .317.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Cubs' Javier Baez: Drives home six in win

Baez went 2-for-5 with a home run and six RBI in Monday's victory against the Pirates.

Baez has been a force as a utility guy for the Cubs all season. The 23-year-old now has 14 home runs and 57 RBI in his first full season in the majors. With so much talent in Chicago playing time isn't guaranteed for Baez, but he has proven he can contribute when in the lineup.

  • Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU

Cardinals' Aledmys Diaz: Away from team to be with family

Diaz is away from the Cardinals to be with Jose Fernandez's family in Miami, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.

Diaz was good friends with Jose Fernandez growing up, so he left for Miami to offer consolation to his family.

  • Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU

Cardinals' Aledmys Diaz: Out again Monday

Diaz is not in the lineup Monday against the Reds.

Since returning from the disabled list earlier in the month, Diaz has been played a bit less than before the injury, which could be in part to ease his thumb back into action, but could also be impacted by his .172 batting average since coming back. Jedd Gyorko will take over at shortstop in his stead.
