  • Bobby Witt SS | KC

Royals' Bobby Witt: Logs steal in win

Witt went 2-for-5 with a double, a stolen base and two runs scored in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Mariners.

Witt had gone 23 games without a successful steal, making just one attempt in that span. The rest of his numbers (.277 average, .778 OPS) during that stretch were fairly normal. He's seen a drop across the board from what he did in 2024, but Witt is still batting .286 with an .827 OPS, 11 home runs, 30 doubles, three triples, 45 RBI, 48 runs scored and 22 steals over 86 games this season.

  • Jose Caballero 2B | NYY

Rays' Jose Caballero: Tallies 30th steal

Caballero went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base Tuesday against the Athletics.

Caballero appears to be losing playing time against right-handed pitching, but he started at shortstop and hit seventh against left-hander Jeffrey Springs on Tuesday. He struggled for much of June, but Caballero has now managed at least one hit in four of his last five games and tallied his league-leading 30th stolen base of the season Tuesday.

  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Giants' Willy Adames: Clubs 10th homer

Adames went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 8-2 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Adames opened the scoring in the second inning with his 10th homer of the year. The shortstop has hit half of those long balls in his last 20 games, going 19-for-69 (.275) in that span. On the year, he has a .211/.297/.348 slash line with 37 RBI, 46 runs scored, 11 doubles, one triple and four stolen bases across 85 contests.

  • Jorge Mateo SS | BAL

Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Facing extended absence

Mateo was diagnosed with a strained left hamstring Tuesday and is expected to miss 8-to-12 weeks, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Mateo landed on the injured list in early June due to elbow inflammation. However, after he suffered a hamstring injury during a rehab game at Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday, it now seems likely that his absence will extend into September. As a result, Luis Vazquez, who was selected from Triple-A as Mateo's roster replacement, will likely remain with the big club as bench depth for the foreseeable future.

  • Mookie Betts RF | LAD

Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Getting rest Tuesday

Betts isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the White Sox, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Betts will get a chance to regroup Tuesday after going 0-for-8 with two strikeouts over his last two contests. Hyeseong Kim will take over at shortstop and bat ninth for the Dodgers.

  • Jacob Wilson SS | ATH

Athletics' Jacob Wilson: Scratched with hamstring injury

Wilson was scratched from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rays due to right hamstring soreness, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Manager Mark Kotsay added that Wilson could also sit down Wednesday due to an early start time and an off day Thursday, though it will likely depend on how the young infielder is feeling at that point. In the meantime, Max Schuemann will start at shortstop and bat ninth for the A's on Tuesday.

  • Ezequiel Tovar SS | COL

Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Working off tee

Tovar (oblique) said Tuesday that he has been hitting off a tee for four days, but he has not yet gone through full batting practice, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Tovar has been out of action since departing a game June 2 after tweaking his left oblique. He was able to start activity by jogging June 14, and while that was not a gigantic step forward, he has since progressed to taking swings. There is still no set timeline for the shortstop's return.

  • Brayan Rocchio SS | CLE

Guardians' Brayan Rocchio: Back in big leagues

The Guardians recalled Rocchio from Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday.

Rocchio collected an .837 OPS with seven home runs across 41 games with Columbus after being sent down in mid-May. That's after he slashed an ugly .165/.235/.198 slash line in his first 35 contests with the big club. Rocchio could be given another chance at regular playing time at shortstop while Gabriel Arias (ankle) is out, but Daniel Schneemann is also an option at the position.

  • Gabriel Arias SS | CLE

Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Lands on IL with sprained ankle

The Guardians placed Arias on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a left ankle sprain.

Arias had to be carted off the field after suffering the injury in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals. While he managed to avoid any fractures, Arias has a sprain that will keep him on the sideline awhile. Brayan Rocchio has taken Arias' spot on the roster and could see starts at shortstop along with Daniel Schneemann while Arias is out.

  • Zachary Neto SS | LAA

Angels' Zach Neto: Back in lineup Tuesday

Neto (shoulder) will start at shortstop and bat leadoff in Tuesday's game versus Atlanta.

Neto missed each of the previous four starts with a jammed right shoulder. However, he entered Sunday's game against the Nationals as a pinch hitter and is back in the lineup for Tuesday's series opener in Atlanta.
