  • Rays' Wander Franco: Logs rehab game action

Franco (hamstring) went 0-for-1 with two walks and a run in Triple-A Durham's win over Gwinnett on Thursday.

Franco was limited to a three-inning simulated game Wednesday after the Bulls' contest against the Stripers was rained out, and he was able to run the bases and take groundballs in each frame. He then started and played the full game at shortstop in Game 1 of Thursday's twin bill, leaving him poised for a likely activation from the injured list Friday.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Dodgers' Corey Seager: Collects four hits, drives in two

Seager went 4-for-5 with two RBI on Thursday against the Rockies.

Seager delivered a two-run single in the second inning to put the Dodgers up 3-0. He has collected at least one hit in eight of his last 10 starts, four of which have been multi-hit efforts. He's also racked up two home runs, seven RBI and five runs scored in that span. For the season, Seager is now hitting .289/.381/.456 across 370 plate appearances.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Gets breather for nightcap

Anderson isn't starting the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against Cleveland.

Anderson was dominant in Thursday's matinee, as he went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI. Leury Garcia will take his place at shortstop while batting leadoff.

  • Nick Ahmed SS | TEX

    Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Remains sidelined

Ahmed (shoulder) remains on the bench for Thursday's game against Atlanta.

Ahmed finds himself on the bench for the sixth straight game as he continues to deal with a sore right shoulder. Josh Rojas will again shift to shortstop as his absence continues.

  • Rays' Wander Franco: Rehab game postponed

Franco (hamstring) was unable to take part in his first rehab game Wednesday due to Triple-A Durham's contest against Gwinnett being postponed by inclement weather.

Adam Berry of MLB.com relays Franco reported to Durham on Tuesday and was able to log five at-bats in live batting practice while also fielding groundballs at shortstop without setbacks. Getting live at-bats in game action would have been the next step Wednesday, but due to the postponement, Franco will hope to be able to take the field Thursday before a likely Friday activation.

  • Bo Bichette 3B | NYM

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Notches steal in loss

Bichette went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Wednesday's 7-1 loss to Tampa Bay.

The shortstop recorded his 23rd steal in 24 attempts this year and his third theft in September. Bichette has gone 6-for-18 (.333) with a home run, five RBI and two runs scored in his last five games. For the season, he's slashing .292/.340/.467 with 26 homers, 98 RBI, 113 runs scored and 25 doubles.

  • David Fletcher 2B | ATL

Angels' David Fletcher: Receives rare day off

Fletcher is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Astros, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Fletcher will head to the bench for the first time since June 18, a stretch of 81 consecutive starts. He has a .363 OPS through 18 games in September, so it's likely a good time for a reset. Kean Wong will cover the keystone in his place Wednesday.

  • Nick Ahmed SS | TEX

Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Sitting again Wednesday

Ahmed (shoulder) is not in the lineup Wednesday against Atlanta.

Ahmed has sat out the past four games while dealing with soreness in his left shoulder, and his absence will continue Wednesday. Josh Rojas will shift to shortstop while Ketel Marte comes in from the outfield to cover the keystone.

  • Tommy Edman LF | LAD

Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Runs wild in Tuesday's win

Edman went 2-for-3 with a walk, two stolen bases, one run and one RBI in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Brewers. He'll remain in the lineup Wednesday, starting at second base and batting leadoff, according to Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat.

After bagging 17 steals in 576 plate appearances through his first two seasons in the big leagues, Edman has increased his aggressiveness on the bases in Year 3, much to the delight of fantasy managers. After adding another two steals to the ledger Tuesday, Edman is now 27-for-32 on stolen-base attempts in 2021. His total ties him for fifth place in the majors entering play Wednesday, leaving him behind only Starling Marte, Whit Merrifield, Trea Turner and Cedric Mullins in the category.

  • Pablo Reyes RF | SD

Brewers' Pablo Reyes: Sent down Wednesday

Reyes was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

Reyes had limited playing time during his time with the major-league club and started just four games after he was called up Aug. 24. He should see more consistent at-bats in Nashville, while his demotion makes room on the active roster for Brett Anderson (shoulder), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list.
