Seager (hand) is expected to take on-field batting practice sometime next week, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Manager Dave Roberts recently indicated that Seager's hand is healing more quickly than expected, and the fact that the shortstop is around the corner from a return to batting practice certainly supports that statement. Seager will need to go on a rehab assignment before rejoining the big club, so early July still seems to be the most likely timeframe for his return.

Swanson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.

For the first time all season, Swanson will head to the bench in what likely amounts to a pre-planned rest day. Ehire Adrianza will pick up a start at shortstop in place of Swanson, who is slashing .214/.267/.405 through Atlanta's first 11 games of June.

Dejong went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Cubs.

Dejong took Kyle Hendricks deep to lead off the third inning Saturday. The shortstop provided some power in his second game back after missing an entire month with a rib injury. This season has been a struggle for DeJong, who is slashing .176/.275/.382 in 149 plate appearances. The 27-year-old has eight homers, 18 RBI and 19 runs with a pair of steals in 37 games.

Anderson will receive a scheduled day off as expected Sunday against the Tigers, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

It was reported Saturday that Anderson would get the day off Sunday, and he is indeed absent from Tony La Russa's lineup card for the series finale. Danny Mendick will shift to shortstop as Leury Garcia mans second base as the leadoff hitter.

Crawford (lower body) will start at shortstop and bat cleanup Sunday against the Nationals.

Crawford was withheld from the starting nine for the second half of Saturday's doubleheader while recovering from lower-body cramps, but he was able to make an appearance off the bench as a pinch-hitter. The veteran apparently felt well upon reporting to the ballpark Sunday, so he'll step back into his normal starting role in the infield in the series finale.

Bogaerts (knee) is back in the starting lineup Sunday against the Blue Jays, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Bogaerts was absent from the starting nine during the first two games of the series after he banged his knee diving for a ball Thursday against Houston. The 28-year-old appears to feel better Sunday, as he's set to bat fourth as the shortstop during the series finale against Toronto.

Bogaerts was given Friday and Saturday off after he banged his knee diving for a ball Thursday against Houston. Manager Alex Cora targeted Sunday for his shortstop's return to the starting lineup, and he'll see where Bogaerts is at before committing him to the lineup card.

Anderson is not expected to play Sunday's finale against the Tigers, Dawn Klemish of MLB.com reports.

This is a scheduled day off for Anderson, whose only recent break was being held out of the back end of a doubleheader in late May. No replacement has been named, but Leury Garcia or Danny Mendick are the likely candidates to play shortstop.

Manager Gabe Kapler said that Crawford was scratched from Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Nationals because of cramping between games, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

This update from Kapler explains why the veteran shortstop was a late scratch from the nightcap. The skipper noted that Crawford could get the day off again Sunday if the issue persists through the night, so he can be considered questionable for the series finale at this point.

Anderson went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's 15-2 win over Detroit.

Anderson scored all three times he got on base, and he added a two-RBI single in the fifth inning. The shortstop continues to impress atop Chicago's order. He has a .299/.341/.431 slash line with six home runs, 25 RBI, 38 runs scored and 12 stolen bases across 226 plate appearances. He has yet to go more than three games without a hit this season after entering Saturday 0-for-7 in his last two contests.
