Fletcher is starting at second base and hitting ninth Saturday against the Red Sox.

Fletcher's shift down in the order is notable, as he had hit exclusively atop the order to this point in the season. He's struggled to a.256/.278/.282 line through 164 plate appearances this season, and Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register recently reported that Fletcher has been playing through a hip injury for the past few days.

Crawford went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Pirates.

The Giants only had four hits as a team and Crawford had the biggest one of the night when he led off the eighth with a solo home run to right to put the Giants up 1-0. He also later scored in extra innings as the runner on second. The 34-year-old has been scorching hot over his last 10 games, slashing .360/.500/.840 with four home runs, nine RBI and eight runs scored.

Correa went 1-for-2 with three walks and three runs scored in Friday's 10-4 win over Texas.

For the second time in the last three games, Correa reached base safely four times. That time on the basepaths enabled him to score five runs, giving him 23 in 37 games. The shortstop appears to be seeing the ball better after stumbling to begin the month of May. Over his last four games, Correa has reached base nine times (five walks) in 18 plate appearances.

Turner went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double and three RBI in Friday's 17-2 win over Arizona.

Turner got Washington off to a quick start with a leadoff home run off Riley Smith. He went on to slug a two-run double in the fifth inning before being given a rest in the sixth with Washington staked to an 11-run lead. Turner is among baseball's top offensive performers again this season, slashing .312/.351/.551 with nine homers, 18 RBI and seven stolen bases.

Story went 2-for-3 with two walks and a stolen base in Friday's win over the Reds. He was also caught stealing.

Story now has four steals in May -- twice as many has he had in April. This was his fifth multi-hit game of the current month and Story is looking more and more like the player we know, with his slash line sitting up at .287/.365/.478. He's a prime candidate to be traded at this year's deadline.

Bichette went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 5-1 loss to Philadelphia.

Bichette reached on an error in the first inning and stole second, but he was left stranded. The shortstop is slashing .272/.319/.483 with eight home runs, seven stolen bases, 23 RBI and 31 runs scored across 163 plate appearances. He remains near the top of Toronto's order, which should continue to be a fruitful position for the 23-year-old.

DeJong landed on the 10-day injured list with a non-displaced rib fracture Friday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

DeJong left Wednesday's game against the Brewers with what was originally referred to as side tightness. The injury was evidently more serious than that, though it's not yet clear when he's expected to return. Max Moroff was called up to take his place on the roster, though it will likely be Matt Carpenter who continues to take his place in the starting lineup, playing second base and pushing Tommy Edman to shortstop.

DeJong (side) will sit Friday against the Padres, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

DeJong left Wednesday's game against the Brewers with side tightness and remains sidelined. A trip to the injured list appears to be a possibility. Tommy Edman will again shift to shortstop Friday, with Matt Carpenter making another start at second base.

Ahmed will be on the bench for Friday's game against the Nationals.

Ahmed owns a .762 OPS over his last 10 games after struggling to a .397 mark over his first 20 contests. Josh Rojas will start in his absence Friday.

Crawford (COVID-19) will start Friday at Pittsburgh, Mark W. Sanchez of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.

The 34-year-old was sidelined Thursday while experiencing some side effects from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, but he'll rejoin the lineup Friday after a day off. Crawford is 7-for-21 with three homers, six walks, eight RBI and six runs over eight games in May.
