Mookie Betts RF | LAD
Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Two solo homers in loss
Betts went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Monday's 9-5 loss to the Diamondbacks.
Betts got the Dodgers on the board with a fourth-inning solo shot and went back-to-back with Shohei Ohtani in the sixth to chip away at the deficit again. Betts' last four multi-hit efforts have been against Arizona, but he went just 3-for-20 with two steals and four RBI over six games against the Athletics and Angels last week. The 32-year-old is at a .263/.350/.444 slash line with eight homers 30 RBI, 39 runs scored and five stolen bases over 45 contests this season.

Ezequiel Tovar SS | COL
Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Goes deep again Monday
Tovar went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional RBI on Monday in a loss to the Phillies.
Tovar helped Colorado get off to a fast start, belting a solo shot in the first inning and adding a run-scoring single in the third. The shortstop didn't go deep in any of his first 18 contests this season but has now homered in back-to-back games. Since returning from the injured list May 16, Tovar has gone 8-for-14 with the pair of long balls, three runs and four RBI over three games.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Red Sox's Trevor Story: Pilfers ninth bag
Story went 1-for-4 with a steal and one RBI in Monday's 3-1 victory over the Mets.
The Boston shortstop swiped second base off New York starter Kodai Senga after reaching on an infield single in the opening frame. The steal snapped an ice cold eight-game stretch without one during which Story slashed an anemic .125/.176/.219 across 34 plate appearances. Given that Story has struggled to a .129 batting average (12-for-93) over his last 23 games, the Red Sox may soon be tempted to promote Marcelo Mayer, who is slashing .264/.335/.459 in 179 plate appearances at Triple-A Worcester.

Elly De La Cruz SS | CIN
Reds' Elly De La Cruz: Laces pair of doubles
De La Cruz went 2-for-4 with a walk, two doubles, two runs scored, and two RBI in Monday's 7-1 victory over the Pirates.
The Cincinnati superstar extended the lead to 3-1 when he knocked his first double of the contest off Pittsburgh reliever David Bednar. De La Cruz then returned in the ninth to swat another RBI double, notching his eighth two-bagger of the season. Through 213 plate appearances, the 23-year-old is now slashing .251/.324/.419 with eight homers and 16 steals.

Starlyn Caba SS | MIA
Marlins' Starlyn Caba: Sidelined with sprained thumb
Single-A Jupiter transferred Caba from the 7-day injured list to the 60-day injured list May 7 with a left thumb sprain, Ely Sussman of Fish on First reports.
Caba last played April 17 and will be sidelined until at least mid-June and potentially later into the summer. The slick-fielding shortstop slashed .200/.431/.200 with zero home runs, six steals and a 7:15 K:BB in 11 games before suffering the thumb injury.

Joseph Ortiz 2B | MIL
Brewers' Joey Ortiz: Out of Milwaukee lineup
Ortiz is not in the lineup for Monday's game versus the Orioles.
Ortiz's season-long slump at the plate (he's hitting just .170/.223/.218 in 45 games) is finally starting to cost him some playing time, as this is the third time he's been out of the lineup across the last seven contests. Prior to that, he had been out of the batting order just once all season. Andruw Monasterio will step in at shortstop again in Ortiz's place Monday.

Jonathan Ornelas SS | ATL
Rangers' Jonathan Ornelas: Scrubbed from 40-man roster
The Rangers designated Ornelas for assignment Monday.
He'll give up his spot on the 40-man roster to utility man Michael Helman, whom the Rangers claimed off waivers from the Pirates. Ornelas had seen big-league action with Texas in three straight seasons but never received a look in an everyday role and instead served as a utility infielder. The 24-year-old is a capable defender at multiple infield spots, but he produced a .204/.339/.235 slash line over 121 plate appearances at Triple-A Round Rock this season and wouldn't profile as an interesting fantasy option if he were to resurface in the majors with another club.

Kellon Lindsey SS | LAD
Dodgers' Kellon Lindsey: Sidelined at Single-A
Single-A Rancho Cucamonga placed Lindsey on the 7-day injured list Saturday with an undisclosed injury.
The No. 23 overall pick in last year's draft, Lindsey is a premium athlete who also played quarterback in high school and possesses 70-grade speed. It's not a given that he'll stick at shortstop long term, but Lindsey hasn't played another position yet in 2025. He slashed .280/.394/.390 with two home runs, 10 steals, a 15.5 percent walk rate and a 31.7 percent strikeout rate in 28 games before landing on the shelf.

Brady House SS | WAS
Nationals' Brady House: Strong start at Triple-A
House went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI for Triple-A Rochester on Saturday.
The 21-year-old third is more than holding his own in his second crack at Triple-A. Through 42 games this season for Rochester, House is slashing .282/.344/.497 with eight homers, and he's more than doubled his walk rate from 3.0 percent in 2024 to 8.3 percent. The Nationals have struggled to find a solution at the hot corner in the majors, and with House needing to be added to the 40-man roster this coming offseason anyway, a big-league debut in the second half isn't off the table.

Nick Allen SS | HOU
Braves' Nick Allen: Swipes sixth bag
Allen went 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's win over the Red Sox.
The 26-year-old shortstop swiped his sixth bag of the year, although it's taken him 10 attempts to get there. Allen has taken over the starting job for Atlanta primarily due to his defense -- he ranks in the 100th percentile in fielding range, per Statcast -- but he's providing a smidge of fantasy value in deeper formats with a .260/.324/.293 slash line, 10 RBI and 11 runs over 40 games.
