Willy Adames SS | SF
Giants' Willy Adames: Hits first triple of 2025
Adames went 1-for-4 with an RBI triple and a run scored in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Royals.
Adames put the Giants on the board in the fourth inning, crushing a flyball to center field for his first three-bagger of the 2025 campaign. He posted his eighth RBI of May before coming around to score. The 29-year-old shortstop is slashing .239/.316/.465 with 13 runs scored, nine extra-base hits -- including three home runs -- and a 7:23 BB:K across 79 plate appearances this month. However, he has logged a 29.1 percent strikeout rate in May, up from 23.4 percent during the first month-plus of the campaign.

Taylor Walls 3B | TB
Rays' Taylor Walls: Taking seat Wednesday
Walls is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Walls had been included in the initial lineup the Rays released, but he'll end up sitting. Jose Caballero will get the nod at shortstop in place of Walls, who had started in each of the Rays' previous four games while going 1-for-13 with a walk, a stolen base, an RBI and a run scored.

Jacob Wilson SS | ATH
Athletics' Jacob Wilson: Leaves with bruised forearm
Wilson was removed from Tuesday's game against the Angels after getting hit on the left forearm by a pitch, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Wilson remained in the game for a while after getting plunked in the third inning, but he was eventually lifted for a pinch hitter in the fifth. The A's are officially calling the infielder's injury a contusion, so it doesn't seem like he's dealing with any serious damage and could be back in the lineup within a day or two.

Marcelo Mayer SS | BOS
Red Sox's Marcelo Mayer: Getting starts at second base
Mayer started at the second base twice in the last three games for Triple-A Worcester.
Mayer has moved around the infield for the WooSox but has mostly defended at shortstop -- he's made seven starts at second, four at third and 39 at short. That he's made two starts in the last three games is noteworthy, because the Red Sox recently began giving Kristian Campbell practice reps at first base. If Campbell adapts to the entirely unfamiliar position, he could serve as the team's primary fill-in for the injured Triston Casas (knee), which would open up second base, potentially for Mayer or David Hamilton.

Trea Turner SS | PHI
Phillies' Trea Turner: Stays hot in rout
Turner went 3-for-5 with two RBI, a double, a triple and a run scored in Monday's 9-3 victory over the Rockies.
It was notably Turner's second triple in his past four outings, and he now has 15 multi-hit games on the season. The All-Star shortstop has been sizzling at the dish over his last 21 contests, a stretch where he's batting .359 (33-for-92) with one home run, four doubles and 10 RBI to go with 17 runs scored and four stolen bases. Turner is tied for fourth in the National League with 56 hits overall in 2025.

Mookie Betts RF | LAD
Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Two solo homers in loss
Betts went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Monday's 9-5 loss to the Diamondbacks.
Betts got the Dodgers on the board with a fourth-inning solo shot and went back-to-back with Shohei Ohtani in the sixth to chip away at the deficit again. Betts' last four multi-hit efforts have been against Arizona, but he went just 3-for-20 with two steals and four RBI over six games against the Athletics and Angels last week. The 32-year-old is at a .263/.350/.444 slash line with eight homers 30 RBI, 39 runs scored and five stolen bases over 45 contests this season.

Ezequiel Tovar SS | COL
Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Goes deep again Monday
Tovar went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional RBI on Monday in a loss to the Phillies.
Tovar helped Colorado get off to a fast start, belting a solo shot in the first inning and adding a run-scoring single in the third. The shortstop didn't go deep in any of his first 18 contests this season but has now homered in back-to-back games. Since returning from the injured list May 16, Tovar has gone 8-for-14 with the pair of long balls, three runs and four RBI over three games.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Red Sox's Trevor Story: Pilfers ninth bag
Story went 1-for-4 with a steal and one RBI in Monday's 3-1 victory over the Mets.
The Boston shortstop swiped second base off New York starter Kodai Senga after reaching on an infield single in the opening frame. The steal snapped an ice cold eight-game stretch without one during which Story slashed an anemic .125/.176/.219 across 34 plate appearances. Given that Story has struggled to a .129 batting average (12-for-93) over his last 23 games, the Red Sox may soon be tempted to promote Marcelo Mayer, who is slashing .264/.335/.459 in 179 plate appearances at Triple-A Worcester.

Elly De La Cruz SS | CIN
Reds' Elly De La Cruz: Laces pair of doubles
De La Cruz went 2-for-4 with a walk, two doubles, two runs scored, and two RBI in Monday's 7-1 victory over the Pirates.
The Cincinnati superstar extended the lead to 3-1 when he knocked his first double of the contest off Pittsburgh reliever David Bednar. De La Cruz then returned in the ninth to swat another RBI double, notching his eighth two-bagger of the season. Through 213 plate appearances, the 23-year-old is now slashing .251/.324/.419 with eight homers and 16 steals.

Starlyn Caba SS | MIA
Marlins' Starlyn Caba: Sidelined with sprained thumb
Single-A Jupiter transferred Caba from the 7-day injured list to the 60-day injured list May 7 with a left thumb sprain, Ely Sussman of Fish on First reports.
Caba last played April 17 and will be sidelined until at least mid-June and potentially later into the summer. The slick-fielding shortstop slashed .200/.431/.200 with zero home runs, six steals and a 7:15 K:BB in 11 games before suffering the thumb injury.
