Diaz started at third base and went 1-for-2 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 3-0 win over Seattle.

Diaz was a late addition to the lineup after the Astros scratched shortstop Carlos Correa with what was described as lower-back tightness. Alex Bregman moved to short while Diaz took Bregman's usual spot at third base. Houston manager AJ Hinch downplayed Correa's injury, but it's likely Diaz will be a regular in the starting lineup over the final week of the season.

Fletcher went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in a win over Oakland on Tuesday.

Fletcher's trio of singles accounted for his third three-hit performance in his last six games. The Angels' leadoff man is finishing his second season in emphatic fashion, batting .341 (28-for-82) while scoring 12 runs over 20 games in September.

Turner went 2-for-4 with a double and a grand slam Tuesday against the Phillies.

Turner terrorized the Phillies all day, collecting three hits in the team's first game of the doubleheader. He then made a huge impact in Game 2, slugging a grand slam in the sixth inning to record his 18th home run of the season. Though likely aided by the current power environment around the league, Turner has nearly matched his career-best home run mark -- which he set in 2018 -- despite playing in 44 fewer games.

Correa was scratched from Tuesday's lineup against the Mariners with a sore back, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

Correa apparently came to manager AJ Hinch and let him know that his back was a little tight, while Hinch said Correa probably could have played (he took normal batting practice) if the Astros needed to win this game. Aledmys Diaz will enter the lineup at third base and Alex Bregman will slide over to shortstop.

Baez (thumb) is still having issues catching throws, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Baez played catch Tuesday, and the session evidently didn't go particularly well. It's unclear whether he'll be able to return from a broken thumb before the end of the regular season.

Turner went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored in Tuesday's 4-1 win over Philadelphia in the first game of a doubleheader.

Turner keyed rallies in the first and sixth innings with leadoff hits, coming around to score both times. The 26-year-old has been hot over his last six games, going 11-for-28 (.393 average) with seven runs scored and five extra-base hits. For the season, Turner holds a .297/.355/.489 slash line with 93 runs scored and 34 stolen bases in 499 at-bats.

Baez (thumb) remains on the bench Tuesday against the Pirates.

Baez had been hoping to return for this game but evidently needs at least a bit more time. He'll take grounders and play catch Tuesday, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports. Nico Hoerner starts at shortstop in his absence.

Adames went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in a win over the Red Sox on Monday.

Adames launched the second of two fourth-inning homers for the Rays, with the shortstop's round tripper, which came with Kevin Kiermaier aboard, snapping a 4-4 tie. Adames is carrying a five-game hitting streak and has come alive at the plate in the second half overall, slashing .278/.340/.477 across 239 plate appearances since the All-Star break.

Ahmed went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 9-7 loss to the Cardinals.

Ahmed led off the ninth inning with his 19th homer, trying to ignite a rally to stave off elimination from postseason contention. Alas, the Diamondbacks could not complete the comeback, and their postseason hopes were dashed. Since his return from a finger injury four games ago, Ahmed is 5-for-15 with three extra-base hits.

Seager was named National League Player of the Week on Monday.

Seager slashed .500/.524/1.000 with two homers and seven RBI for the week to earn the honor. He has gone exactly 2-for-4 in each of his last six games, approaching the franchise record of nine consecutive multi-hit games set by Pee Wee Reese in 1949. Seager is in the midst of his best month at the plate, batting .300 with six homers and 21 RBI through 18 games in September.
