DeJong will head to the bench Saturday against the Rockies.

DeJong will sit after starting 17 straight games. He hit just .212 with a .268 on-base percentage over that stretch but provided five homers. Greg Garcia will start at shortstop in his place.

Ahmed went 2-for-4 with a run scored Friday in the Diamondbacks' 6-3 loss to the Mariners.

It was Ahmed's first multi-hit performance since Aug. 4, with the shortstop slashing just .188/.250/.229 over the Diamondbacks' 15 games in between. Thanks to his handy glovework and improved power production, Ahmed is locked into a full-time role in the middle infield, but those rostering him will occasionally have to deal with prolonged dry spells at the dish. He has only managed a batting average above .260 in one of the first four months of the season and is hitting .254 in August.

Correa went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and three runs scored to help the Astros to a 9-3 win over the Angels on Friday.

Correa went yard for the first time since in 12 games since returning to the lineup following a stint on the disabled list with a back injury, giving him 14 on the season. His .256/.340/.452 slash line is solid, but also well off the pace of last year when he logged a phenomenal .941 OPS. If he's fully healthy and can stay on the field through the rest of the season, Correa is plenty capable of the type of hot streak that could pump those numbers back up toward the MVP-type levels he's shown he's able to post.

Adames went 2-for-3 with a walk, a home run, three runs scored, two RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 10-3 win over the Red Sox.

The rookie shortstop showed his full array of offensive skills in this one, launching his eighth homer and swiping his sixth base in his 55th big-league game. Adames is now hitting .364 (24-for-66) through 20 games in August, boosting his slash line on the year to .261/.324/.418.

Bogaerts went 3-for-5 with two RBI in Friday's 10-3 loss to the Rays.

The shortstop continues his torrid August pace, and Bogaerts is now hitting .333 (20-for-60) on the month with three homers, three steals, 11 runs and 16 RBI in 18 games. With a secure spot in the heart of the Red Sox order, the 25-year-old should continue piling up value over the final weeks of the season.

Fletcher (knee) will bat second and play second base Friday against the Astros, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Fletcher exited Wednesday's matchup against the Diamondbacks early due to a left knee contusion, but after a scheduled off day Thursday, he's healthy enough to play in the series opener. Over Fletcher's last 10 games, he's batting .375 with five extra-base hits and seven RBI.

Mondesi (hamstring) is back in the lineup Friday against Cleveland, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

Mondesi had missed a pair of games with a hamstring issue, but the injury was evidently a minor one, as he's back in the lineup. He'll bat ninth and play shortstop.

Urena was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Friday.

Urena will shuttle back to the minors after going 7-for-26 (.269 average) across nine games of action during this stint with the Blue Jays. In a corresponding move, Lourdes Gurriel (ankle) was activated from the 10-day DL. Look for Urena to rejoin the big-league team in September.

Vincej was outrighted to Triple-A Tacoma on Friday.

Vincej will remain with Tacoma after being designated for assignment by the Mariners on Tuesday. Across 99 games for the Rainiers this year, he's hit .246/.314/.346 with six home runs and 47 RBI.

Camargo went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI on Thursday against the Marlins.

Camargo has collected hits in bunches across his last 14 starts, posting six multi-hit games. Consistently batting fifth in the order, he has come to the plate with plenty of runners on base and taken advantage by driving in 10 runs in that same span. That production has come without him flashing much power, as Camargo has posted only seven doubles with no triples and one home run in 83 August at-bats.
