Ahmed went 2-for-3 with a triple, walk and three RBI in the Diamondbacks' 6-1 win over the Rockies on Sunday.

Ahmed's two-run triple in the fourth inning was his 37th extra-base hit of the season, placing him sixth in the majors among all qualifying shortstops. The 28-year-old's uptick in power production has increased his relevance in deeper mixed leagues, but a .231 batting average remains the chief reason why he's not a must-start option in shallower settings.

Correa (back) played catch and participated in baserunning drills Saturday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

The Astros are surely encouraged by Correa incorporating baseball activities into his rehab regimen, but manager A.J. Hinch suggested that the star shortstop is still at least a couple weeks away from returning to action. In addition to stepping up the intensity of his running program, Correa will need to ramp up his hitting and fielding in workouts and then complete a minor-league rehab assignment before an activation date will come into focus. Marwin Gonzalez and Alex Bregman will continue to see most of the action at shortstop until Correa is deemed fully healthy.

Urena was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Urena did not see an at-bat for the Blue Jays in his most recent stint in the majors -- one which lasted less than two full days. With Lourdes Gurriel (concussion) back from the disabled list, the team's middle infield needs were adequately met, making Urena's spot on the active roster expendable.

Adames was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Sunday.

Adames will take the roster spot of outfielder Justin Williams, who was sent packing to Triple-A in a corresponding move. In his first game back, he'll start at shortstop and bat eighth in the order. Adames has appeared in 26 games for the Rays in 2018, but was sent down to Durham prior to the All-Star break in order to see regular at-bats. Now back with the Rays, he'll look to improve upon a .604 season-long OPS.

Fletcher batted ninth and went 2-for-4 in Saturday's 7-0 loss to Houston.

Fletcher got the start against a righty due to Albert Pujols' (knee) absence from the lineup, with Luis Valbuena sliding over to cover first base. Fletcher was situated on the short side of a platoon at the hot corner prior to Pujols' placement on the disabled list, and he figures to resume that role once the veteran first baseman is activated, which could be as soon as Monday.

DeJong went 0-for-4 in the first game but rebounded to go 2-for-4 with two RBI in the second contest of Saturday's doubleheader split with the Cubs.

DeJong put his forgettable first effort behind him to make two vital offensive plays in the second: a sacrifice fly in the first inning and a go-ahead, run-scoring double in the ninth. The infielder has a hit in 10 of his 12 games since returning from the disabled list but has struggled to follow up on his breakout 2017 campaign, slashing just .258/.336/.434 with eight homers and 21 RBI in 223 plate appearances.

Wendle went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a single in a loss to the Marlins on Saturday.

The vet delivered one of the few blemishes on Pablo Lopez's sterling line by charging a fourth-inning fastball over the fence for his fifth big fly of 2018. It was his third home run in July, during which he's rattled off a .400 average in 50 at-bats. The Rays will continue to mix and match playing time among at least two infield spots, but Wendle, who led off in this one, will stay on the card as long as he keeps it going.

Baez was ejected from the second game of Saturday's doubleheader for arguing balls and strikes, Bruce Miles of the Chicago Daily Herald reports.

Baez and manager Joe Maddon were tossed after a checked swing that was called for strike three by umpire Will Little that wasn't appealed . It didn't appear that Baez said anything, but he was ejected after throwing his equipment to the ground. After going 3-for-4 with a stolen base and two RBI in the opening contest, the MVP candidate will end the second game an 0-for-3 and the controversial strikeout.

Baez went 3-for-4 with a steal, a run and a pair of RBI in the first half of Saturday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.

Baez has hardly changed his approach, walking just 3.7 percent of the time, but he's having a career year nonetheless. He's setting career highs in all three triple-slash categories (.295/.328/.564). His 19 steals easily surpass his previous high of 12, and he's on pace for 32 homers after previously hitting no more than 23. His 74 RBI lead the National League.

Castro was designated for assignment by the Rockies on Saturday.

Castro appeared in 18 games for the Rockies this season but didn't do much with the opportunity, hitting a meager .174/.191/.261. His weak .210/.240/.265 career line won't make him a hot commodity on the waiver wire. Garrett Hampson's contract was selected in a corresponding move.
