Castro's contract was selected by the Rockies on Tuesday, Jenny Cavnar of AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain reports.

Castro has started the season strong at Triple-A Albuquerque. Over 23 games he's slashed .407/.429/.516 with 11 RBI and 17 runs scored. With DJ LeMahieu (hamstring) on the disabled list, Castro could have the chance to see some time in the lineup, as he presents a versatile infield option for the Rockies. Last season with Albuquerque he spent time at second base, third base and shortstop.

Herrera is getting his first major league start Tuesday at second base in place of the injured Scooter Gennett.

Herrera nearly made the Reds' big-league club on Opening Day after a good spring and was off to a good start at Triple-A Louisville, hitting .311/.373/.607 in 68 plate appearances. He's not a highly rated prospect, however, as he was a minor-league free agent after spending his professional career in the Rockies' minor-league system without getting a call up.

Wendle is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Tigers.

Wendle is off to a hot start at the plate (.329 batting average, 13 runs scored, two stolen bases), but he'll retreat to the bench for a night off to avoid a lefty-on-lefty matchup with Detroit starter Matt Boyd. Daniel Robertson will take his place at second base Tuesday night.

Baez is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rockies.

Baez will head to the bench for what appears to be a regular day off after starting 17 straight games. He's off to an impressive start to the season, hitting .280/.333/.630 with seven homers, three stolen bases and 26 RBI in 26 games. In his stead, Ben Zobrist will start at the keystone and hit third.

Castro is hitting .407 with 11 RBI and 17 runs scored for Triple-A Albuquerque heading into May.

The utility man is also in the midst of a 22-game hit streak for the Isotopes. Castro nearly broke camp with the Rockies out of spring training, but Pat Valaika managed to get healthy enough to play just before the start of the regular season. However, with Valaika hitting just .096 thus far, Castro has put him in the conversation for a callup. Valaika is entrenched as the primary second baseman while DJ LeMahieu (hamstring) is out, but Castro is making his case to be back in the majors.

O'Malley (hand) is 3-for-11 in three games since returning from the disabled list for Triple-A Albuquerque.

The utility man was sidelined with a broken hand since spring training, but he was able to return to action with the Isotopes over the weekend after rehabbing at extended spring training to start the season. O'Malley has a unique profile as a switch hitter who can play both on the infield and the outfield, but his .231 career batting average in the majors suggests he's destined for an organizational depth role.

Ahmed went 3-for-5 with a home run, double, two RBI and two runs in the Diamondbacks' 8-5 win over the Dodgers on Monday.

Ahmed finished a triple shy of the cycle in his third consecutive multi-hit effort, with the shortstop tallying four extra-base knocks over that span. Considering his poor offensive reputation entering the season, Ahmed has been one of the most surprising performers for the 20-8 Diamondbacks, with his unexpected surge in the power department helping to anchor the back half of the lineup. His slugging percentage now sits at a robust .524, more than 100 points better than his 2017 mark.

Turner went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Monday's win over the Pirates.

It was his fourth multi-hit performance in the last week, and Turner now boasts a .284/.381/.379 slash line through 29 games. He only has one homer and seven RBI over that span, but 14 runs and 12 steals in 12 attempts. The 24-year-old's power numbers are down, but his current 39.1 percent hard-hit rate would be a career high, so don't be surprised if the home runs come over the summer.

Bogaerts went 3-for-5 with a grand slam in Monday's 10-6 win over Kansas City.

Bogaerts made things a little less tense for Boston with his third-inning slam, which erased an early deficit. Nothing is slowing down the shortstop -- not his nearly three-week stay on the disabled nor Sunday's day off. He's 7-for-13 with a double, a home run and six RBI in the three games since being activated.

Lindor went 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI as the Indians topped the Rangers 7-5 on Monday.

Lindor's .245/.331/.409 slash line is still below the standard of last year's 33-homer campaign that saw him log an .842 OPS but there have been signs of encouragement lately as this was his second three-hit effort in his last four games. The numbers aren't there yet but it's still early and Lindor is one of the most talented offensive shortstops in the league, so hopefully his recent performances are a sign he's ready to put the tough opening month of the season behind him as the calendar turns to May.
