Bogaerts' 26-game hitting streak was snapped in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Blue Jays, as he only managed two walks and a run scored in three at-bats.

The young superstar's impressive stretch at the plate came to an end, but he still managed to reach safely for the 27th consecutive game by drawing a pair of free passes. Bogaerts is currently surpassing his very impressive 2015, and is slashing .343/.397/.500 despite the 0-for-3 night Friday.

Seager went 3-for-4 with three solo home runs during Friday's win against the Braves.

The young shortstop put the Dodgers' offense on his back Friday night, providing all of the run support necessary for his club to emerge with the victory. After a quiet April (.707 OPS, two homers), Seager has gone deep 10 times in his last 94 at-bats dating back to May 11. The big night Friday pushed his season line to .283/.338/.511 -- a 46-point boost to his slugging percentage for the year.

Turner went 3-for-3 with a double and a walk in Friday's 7-2 loss to the Reds.

The dynamic rookie made quite a splash in his 2016 debut, an extension of the success he'd been experiencing at the Triple-A level this season. Turner's promotion to the big league club has been termed as strictly temporary by manager Dusty Baker, but the 22-year-old will certainly attempt to make an impression during whatever stretch of time he does have at his disposal.

Manager Dusty Baker said Friday that Turner's promotion "is a weekend thing," James Wagner of the Washington Post reports.

The Nats brought up the heralded prospect Friday with Ryan Zimmerman going on paternity leave, and there has been speculation Turner could stick long term now that the organization has gained an extra year of control. Baker indicated Turner will go back to Triple-A once Zimmerman returns, although it shouldn't be long before Turner's up for good, and he projects as a prolific source of speed once in a regular role. Turner is starting at second base and batting second Friday with Daniel Murphy at first base.

Swanson, 22, is batting .273/.362/.438 with four home runs and 15 RBI in 30 games since being promoted to Double-A.

Swanson has hit a bit of a snag of late, batting just .239 with 10 strikeouts over his last 10 games. Ozzie Albies also remains ahead of him on the depth chart at Triple-A, though Albies is not exactly scalding the ball right now either. With the Braves headed nowhere this season, there could be no rush to promote Swanson to the big leagues.

Turner is in the lineup Friday against the Reds, starting at second base and batting second in the order.

The highly-touted prospect was recalled earlier Friday with Ryan Zimmerman going on the paternity list and manager Dusty Baker wasted no time getting Turner into the mix. He'll take over at second base while Daniel Murphy slides over to first base Friday. Turner can not only hit for average, given his .310 mark at Triple-A, but he's a threat on the base paths as well with 17 steals on 17 attempts at Syracuse this season.

Turner was recalled from Triple-A on Friday, MASN's Mark Zuckerman reports.

It is unclear how long Turner will be up with the big league club, as this was the corresponding move to Ryan Zimmerman being placed on paternity leave. However, Turner should be owned in most formats, as the Nationals have waited long enough to gain an extra year of control even if they keep him up for the rest of the season, factoring in his time on the active roster in 2015. Danny Espinosa sports a .637 OPS, and while he has offered strong defense at shortstop, Turner offers a pretty clear overall upgrade at this point. The 13th overall pick in the 2014 draft, Turner has really impressed at every stop, and that has continued this year at Triple-A. He is slashing .310/.376/.472 with three homers and is a perfect 17-for-17 on stolen base attempts.

Baez went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI against the Dodgers on Thursday. He also made a number of strong defensive plays to preserve the Cubs' 7-2 win.

Baez has just a 3:19 BB:K, but he's been a valuable member of the Cubs this year, playing left field and at all four infield positions. Manager Joe Maddon is impressed: "I like the fact that when he's not playing, he's ready to play. I go down and bump fists before the game, and he's always right here. He's in the moment. I can see in his face he's happy, he gets it and he knows his time is coming."

Story went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's loss to the Reds.

It seems almost ho-hum at this point, as Story continues to produce at an exceptional clip. The 23-year-old is tied for second in the NL in home runs with 15 (most among all shortstop-eligible players) and ranks third in the NL in RBI with 38. Jose Reyes is working himself back into game shape in the minors, but Story isn't going anywhere.

Mateo is slashing .296/.360/.477 through 49 games with High-A Tampa.

The 20-year-old has also added five homers and 17 steals in 26 tries. Mateo -- typically a shortstop -- has been seeing some time at second base and should continue rising through the organization's minor league ranks, though the majors remain highly unlikely for at least another year.
