Castro went 2-for-5 with a steal, two RBI and a run Wednesday against the Dodgers.

Getting his second straight shot in the starting lineup -- this time at third base -- Castro took advantage. However, the 23-year-old hasn't shown either power or speed in the minors, and his context as a non-regular for a bad team doesn't offer a whole lot of fantasy promise.

Manager John Farrell is hopeful that Bogaerts (quad) will be able to return for Thursday's game, as his exit from Wednesday's contest was only precautionary, Alex Speier of the Boston Globe reports.

Bogaerts left Wednesday's game with the Rays after feeling tightness in his left quadriceps. Farrell's statement is a good sign that Bogaerts could be back soon even if he doesn't play Thusday. Look for an update regarding his status tomorrow when the Red Sox's lineup is released.

Bogaerts was taken out of Wednesday's game against the Rays due to tightness in his left quad, MLB.com's Ian Browne reports.

Bogaerts went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored prior to leaving Wednesday's contest. He is considered day-to-day, but it will be a quick turnaround to the next game with the Red Sox playing an early afternoon affair Thursday. The Red Sox's lineup for Thursday's contest will ultimately reveal whether or not Bogaerts will be able to avoid missing any further action.

Bogaerts was removed from Wednesday's game prior to the top of the sixth inning, Alex Speier of the Boston Globe reports.

The reason for Bogaerts' removal has not been revealed as of yet, but he was forced to leave the game after scoring from first base in the bottom of the fifth frame. Expect an update on Bogaerts' status when more details become available.

Swanson, 22, is batting .345/.419/.491 with six RBI and four steals through 14 games for High-A Carolina.

Though the power stroke has not come around just yet, the No. 1 selection in last June's draft has shown a polished approach at the dish. He could be advanced rather quickly through the system.

Castro will bat second and start at third base Wednesday against the Dodgers.

Adonis Garcia was originally slated to start, but the everyday third baseman was scratched due to a left knee contusion. To fill his spot, Castro will enter the lineup. His batting average isn't great at .250, but he has gotten a hit in both games he's started this season, so he'll look to continue that trend Wednesday.

Sardinas is batting ninth and starting at shortstop Wednesday against the Indians.

Sardinas has not played in the last two contests, but he'll slot in at shortstop and give Ketel Marte the day off. The 22-year-old hasn't gotten off to the best start, but he has gotten a hit in his past two starts and even has a home run to his name in his limited plate appearances.

Baez is starting at shortstop and hitting eighth Wednesday against the Cardinals.

There was a scary moment in Tuesday's game where a pitch ricocheted off Baez's bat and hit his wrist, but he remained in the game, and was apparently feeling no ill effects Wednesday. With Addison Russell struggling to impact the game on offense, Baez could start to see a couple starts each week at shortstop, in addition to his other starts in a utility role all over the field.

Baez was hit in the wrist by a pitch that ricocheted off his bat in the seventh inning Tuesday, but he remained in the game.

He was down on the ground after initially getting hit during a pinch-hit appearance, and was not even awarded first base, as the ball grazed his bat first. The fact that it hit the bat first hopefully slowed the pitch down enough so that it will not have any lasting consequences.

Lindor went 3-for-3 with a run, an RBI, a walk and a double Tuesday against the Mariners.

Lindor scored the first run of the game before driving in the third and final run in a game the Indians held on to win. After collecting only one extra-base hit in his first eight games, he's now hit doubles in three straight games to raise his OPS to .465.
