Bobby Witt SS | KC
Royals' Bobby Witt: Lifts 12th homer
Witt went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Athletics.
Witt provided the Royals' margin of victory with his eighth-inning blast. He's had an incredible June, hitting safely in 16 of 17 games. He's batting .347 with a .937 OPS, three home runs and five steals this month. That's even a little better than his season-long .322/.371/.550 slash line with 12 homers, 21 steals, 53 RBI and 60 runs scored through 76 contests.

Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU
Athletics' Aledmys Diaz: Sees time at hot corner Thursday
Diaz drew a start at third base in Thursday's loss to the Royals, going 1-for-2 before being lifted for a pinch hitter in the seventh inning.
The veteran drew only his fifth start of June and delivered his third hit of the season across 24 plate appearances. Diaz began the month logging what was a third straight start at the time, but his sparse playing time since and advanced age may imply he's not much longer for the roster of an Athletics team that will increasingly focus on developing young players as the remainder of the season unfolds.

Moore has been particularly active on the basepaths of late, recording four steals in his last five contests to push his season total to 13.

C.J. Abrams SS | WAS
Nationals' CJ Abrams: Day-to-day following MRI on wrist
Abrams is considered day-to-day after an MRI revealed a ganglion cyst on his left wrist, Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post reports.
A ganglion cyst is a noncancerous lump which is commonly found on the tendons or joints of the wrists and hands. While the cyst has caused Abrams some discomfort, it's something that will often clear on its own. The shortstop could be back in the lineup this weekend in Colorado.

Anthony Volpe SS | NYY
Yankees' Anthony Volpe: Tallies three hits Wednesday
Volpe went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk and two runs Wednesday in an extra-inning loss to Baltimore.
Volpe set the table well out of the leadoff spot, reaching base four times and notching his sixth effort of at least three hits this season. The second-year shortstop came up with a clutch hit in the ninth inning, doubling to left field and later coming home to score the game-tying run on a Giancarlo Stanton single. Volpe had been struggling coming into Wednesday, going 3-for-23 with seven strikeouts over his previous five contests.

Darell Hernaiz SS | ATH
Athletics' Darell Hernaiz: Begins hitting progression
Hernaiz (ankle) has begun a hitting progression, MLB.com reports.
Hernaiz was able to shed his walking boot in the first half of June, and he's now graduated to baseball work from the strength and fitness program. The infielder will likely progress to full baseball activities after the hitting progression before eventually embarking on what could be a fairly robust rehab assignment.

Max Schuemann 2B | NYY
Athletics' Max Schuemann: Reaches three times in win
Schuemann went 0-for-2 with three walks and a run in a win over the Royals on Wednesday.
Schuemann's busy night on the basepaths surprisingly led to only one run, but it did push his OBP back up to an improving .318. The rookie has hit safely in three of the last four games, and his walk rate has now hit double digits (10.1 percent) after also sitting at that threshold in each of the last six minor-league stops before his promotion.

Nationals' CJ Abrams: Not in Thursday's lineup
Abrams (wrist) is out of the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Diamondbacks.
Abrams was scratched from the lineup ahead of Wednesday's 3-1 win and was set to undergo an MRI on his left wrist. The results of his imaging haven't been revealed, but Abrams will miss a second straight start Thursday. The Nationals should have more information on the Abrams' condition before long. Ildemaro Vargas will fill in for Abrams at shortstop.
