Bobby Witt SS | KC
Royals' Bobby Witt: Three-hit effort in loss
Witt went 3-for-5 with two doubles, one RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 9-5 loss to the Angels.
Witt's on another heater at the plate, having gone 15-for-35 (.429) during a nine-game hitting streak. In that span, he's added eight extra-base hits, eight RBI and 11 runs scored, though he hasn't stolen a base since Aug. 2. The superstar shortstop is up to a .352/.401/.618 slash line with 25 home runs, 25 steals, 92 RBI, 110 runs scored, 37 doubles and 11 triples over 126 contests this season.

Zachary Neto SS | LAA
Angels' Zach Neto: Homers again in win
Neto went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 9-5 win over the Royals.
Neto's impressive August continued with his sixth homer in 17 contests this month. He's also batting .299 (20-for-67) with 16 RBI and 11 runs scored in that span. The shortstop is up to a .262/.327/.466 slash line with 19 homers, 63 RBI, 57 runs scored, 22 stolen bases and 27 doubles across 122 games this season. While the Angels' lineup isn't anything special, Neto should continue to provide well-rounded production out of the No. 2 spot in the order as he has since Luis Rengifo (wrist) exited the lineup Aug. 3.

C.J. Abrams SS | WAS
Nationals' CJ Abrams: Homers in loss
Abrams went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Rockies.
Abrams provided the Nationals' only offense when he took Austin Gomber deep in the bottom of the sixth inning. The shortstop has gone just 7-for-34 over his past 10 games but has tallied a homer and three steals in his most recent two. On the season, he is hitting .248 with 18 long balls, 60 RBI, 72 runs scored and 25 steals across 514 plate appearances.

Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Homers in win Tuesday
Swanson went 1-for-2 with a walk and a solo home run in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Tigers.
The Cubs only mustered five total hits, but Swanson provided the big jolt of the night as he popped his 10th home run of the season and first since July 11. The shortstop had at least 20 long balls in each of the last three years, though he's running out of time to reach that mark in 2024. On a more positive note, Swanson is at least batting .302 this month.

Rays' Jose Caballero: Not starting Tuesday
Caballero is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Athletics, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Ha-seong Kim SS | SD
Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Goes on injured list
The Padres placed Kim on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with right shoulder inflammation.
Kim received somewhat favorable MRI results after he jammed his shoulder during Sunday's game against Colorado, but the team ultimately decided to put him on the shelf after further evaluation. Tyler Wade will presumably take over as the Padres' primary shortstop while Kim is out, and Matthew Batten will come up from Triple-A to provide additional depth in the infield.

Miguel Rojas SS | LAD
Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Not in Tuesday's lineup
Rojas is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mariners.
Rojas started the previous five games and will receive a day off after going 7-for-17 with a double, two RBI and three runs during that stretch. Tommy Edman will shift to shortstop while Kevin Kiermaier starts in center field.
-
Max Schuemann SS | OAK
Athletics' Max Schuemann: Sitting down Tuesday
Schuemann isn't in the Athletics' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rays.
Schuemann will get a chance to regroup Tuesday after going just 1-for-21 with seven walks over his last eight games. His absence will move Darell Hernaiz to shortstop and allow Abraham Toro to pick up a start at third base while batting seventh.

Ha-seong Kim SS | SD
Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Remaining on bench Tuesday
Kim (shoulder) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
The 28-year-old jammed his right shoulder during Sunday's contest and received somewhat favorable MRI results Monday, but he'll sit Tuesday for the second consecutive. It remains to be seen if Kim will require a trip to the injured list as he continues to be evaluated. Tyler Wade is receiving another start at shortstop Tuesday for the Friars.

Trey Sweeney SS | DET
Tigers' Trey Sweeney: Not starting Tuesday
Sweeney isn't in the Tigers' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
