  • Ryan Bliss 2B | SEA

Diamondbacks' Ryan Bliss: Earns org's monthly player award

Bliss earned the Diamondbacks' minor league Player of the Month award for April, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Bliss hit .410 (1.050 OPS) with eight doubles, two triples, two home runs, 14 RBI and eight stolen bases over 18 games at Double-A Amarillo. The shortstop hasn't stopped hitting in May, collecting two homers and five RBI with a .919 OPS through five games. It's a huge turnaround for the organization's second-round pick in the 2021 draft, who hit .214 with a .641 OPS last year for High-A Hillsboro. Bliss opted to grind through the season instead of working on his swing at the team's training facility and performed better, hitting .262 (.818 OPS) over July and August.

  • Joey Wendle 2B | ATL

Marlins' Joey Wendle: Triples in only plate appearance

Wendle went 1-for-1 with an RBI triple in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Cubs.

Sunday was Wendle's first game back from the injured list since April 3 after he had been sidelined with a right intercostal strain. He pinch hit for Jacob Stallings in the 10th and would up roping an RBI triple down the right field line to put the Marlins up 3-2. Wendle's current role is a bit unknown after he began the year as the team's starting shortstop. He could wind up on the strong side of a platoon with Jon Berti, Garrett Hampson and even Jean Segura over at third base, with that trio struggling to hit right-handed pitching so far this season.

  • Jon Berti 3B | CHC

Marlins' Jon Berti: Steals base No. 6

Berti went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Cubs.

Berti singled, stole second and scored in the eighth to put the Marlins up 2-0. It was his second steal over the last four games, and he's also put together seven hits over that span, although it hasn't led to any RBI. Berti doesn't really remain an intriguing fantasy asset if he's not stealing many bases. He sits at six for the year and is slashing .269/.325/.365 with two homers, eight RBI, 15 runs and a 9:21 BB:K over 116 plate appearances.

  • Jorge Mateo SS | ATL

Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Logs steal off bench

Mateo stole a base as a pinch runner in Sunday's 3-2 extra-innings loss to Atlanta.

Mateo ran for Anthony Santander in the 10th inning and stole second, but he was left on base. Off days have been rare for Mateo this season, and it's for good reason -- he's slashing .304/.353/.565 through 29 contests. He's added 12 steals on 14 tries, six home runs, 19 RBI and 24 runs scored through 105 plate appearances.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Two steals Sunday

Perdomo went 0-for-3 with two walks and two stolen bases in Sunday's 9-8 loss to the Nationals.

Perdomo has shown solid plate discipline with four walks over his last three games, but he's gone 0-for-5 in that span. His steals Sunday were his first since April 4. The shortstop is slashing .380/.470/.592 with two home runs, three thefts, 17 RBI and 15 runs scored through 87 plate appearances while playing in a strong-side platoon role. Nick Ahmed starts at shortstop versus southpaws.

  • Josh H. Smith 2B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Smith: Strong off bench Sunday

Smith went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk, a stolen base and two total runs scored in Sunday's 16-8 win over the Angels.

Travis Jankowski (hamstring) left the game in the second inning, and Smith filled in admirably. The homer was Smith's second of the season, and it put the Rangers ahead 7-3. This was the utility man's first game action in May after he played semi-regularly in April. He's slashing .154/.353/.269 with three RBI, 11 runs scored and one steal through 69 plate appearances. If Jankowski ends up on the injured list, Smith could be a strong-side platoon option in left field.

  • Ezequiel Duran SS | TEX

Rangers' Ezequiel Duran: Clubs fourth homer

Duran went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run, an additional run scored and three strikeouts in Sunday's 16-8 win over the Angels.

Duran got the Rangers on the board with his blast in the second inning. This was his fifth multi-hit effort in his last nine games, a span in which he has three homers, 10 RBI and a 0:7 BB:K. The infielder raised his slash line to .318/.348/.506 with four homers, 16 RBI, 12 runs scored and two stolen bases through 26 contests this season. He hasn't had a major issue with strikeouts, fanning at a 24.7 percent rate, but he's also drawn just one walk this season.

  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Brewers' Willy Adames: Smashes sixth homer

Adames went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Giants.

Adames' big hit was a two-run homer in the fifth inning. He also had a sacrifice fly in the third and an RBI single in the ninth. The four RBI were a season high for the shortstop, who now has multi-hit efforts in two of his last three games. He's slashing .236/.336/.415 with six long balls, 20 RBI, 18 runs scored and two stolen bases through 34 contests this season.

  • Miguel Rojas 2B | LAD

Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Not in Sunday's lineup

Rojas is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Rojas is 4-for-13 since he returned from the injured list May 1, and he'll head to the bench for Sunday's series finale in San Diego. Chris Taylor will take over at shortstop and bat eighth.

  • Zachary Neto SS | LAA

Angels' Zach Neto: Gets breather Sunday

Neto is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers, Sarah Valenzuela of the Los Angeles Times reports.

After exiting Wednesday's 6-4 win over the Cardinals with a bruised finger on his right hand, Neto proceeded to start at shortstop in each of the next three games while going 1-for-12 with two walks, two RBI and a run scored. Though Neto will take a seat for the series finale, Angels manager Phil Nevin is labeling the rookie's absence as more of a rest day rather than a setback, per Valenzuela. The day off should allow Neto's bruised finger to heal a little more before he likely returns to action Monday against the Astros.
