Montero is slated to start Saturday's game against Atlanta at Comerica Park.

After being called up from Triple-A Toledo on Sept. 3, Montero made his first two appearances with the Tigers as a reliever before being called upon to make a start in Miami last Sunday. The right-hander acquitted himself well in that outing, earning a win while striking out five over five shutout innings. He'll be rewarded with another turn through the rotation as a result of his prior performance, and he could have a slightly longer leash after tossing just 76 pitches against the Marlins before being removed from the contest.

The White Sox Sox" data-type="SPORTS_OBJECT_TEAM" data-league-abbreviation="MLB" data-team-abbreviation="CHW">White Sox reinstated White (hip) from the injured list Saturday and optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte, Jack Ankony of SI.com reports.

A right hip impingement has kept White on the shelf since mid-August. He began a rehab assignment in Triple-A on Aug. 28 and has since given up just two runs over 11.2 innings while striking out nine batters and walking five. Now fully healthy, he'll stay put in the minors, although the White Sox could promote him during the final week of the regular season to give their bullpen a fresh arm.

The Guardians recalled Halpin from Triple-A Columbus on Saturday.

Halpin has spent the entire season at Triple-A, slashing .249/.321/.414 with 14 homers, 44 RBI, 86 runs scored and 15 stolen bases over 126 games. With Nolan Jones now set to miss the rest of the regular season with an oblique strain, the 23-year-old Halpin will come up to fill the open spot in Cleveland's outfield unit. He will be making his MLB debut whenever he gets into a game.

The Guardians placed Jones on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a right oblique strain.

With only nine days remaining, Jones' move to the IL will cause him to miss the rest of the regular season. He'll finish the 2025 campaign with a .211/.296/.304 batting line alongside five homers, 34 RBI, 34 runs scored and eight steals across 403 plate appearances. Petey Halpin was promoted from Triple-A Columbus to replenish Cleveland's outfield depth.

Springer went 2-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's loss to the Royals.

The veteran outfielder led off the game with his 30th homer of the year, but it was the only bright spot for the Blue Jays in an ugly 20-1 rout. It's the first time Springer has reached the 30-HR plateau since 2019, and his 101 runs on the season represent the first time he's hit triple digits in that category since 2018. He's finishing out the 2025 regular season on a high note, slashing .328/.416/.642 over 17 games in September with six home runs, 11 RBI and 17 runs.

Bregman went 1-for-3 with two walks and a solo home run in Friday's 11-7 win over the Rays.

Bregman homered for the second time this week, but he's struggled at the plate over the last several weeks. He has a .597 OPS with two homers and 10 RBI over the last 33 games.

Helman started in center field and went 0-for-4 in Friday's 6-4 loss to the Marlins.

Helman entered the starting lineup with Wyatt Langford (side) was unable to play. The Rangers are evaluating Langford and haven't established a timeline. Helman's lost playing time since Adolis Garcia returned to the active roster but could regain opportunities should Langford's injury force him to miss more games.

Semien (foot) took live batting practice and did some running Friday, MLB.com reports.

Semien ramped up his activity this week and is hoping to get on the field with the limited time left in the regular season. The Rangers have lost five consecutive games and sit five games back of the final wild-card spot with eight left to play. Ultimately, whether Semien returns to the active roster may depend on the team's slim playoff hopes.

Kurtz went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 4-3 win over the Pirates.

The rookie slugger took Mitch Keller deep in the fourth inning to kick off a rally from an early 3-0 deficit. Kurtz is up to 33 homers on the season, tying him with Jose Canseco for the second-most in franchise history by a rookie behind Mark McGwire's legendary 1987 season, when he set a then-MLB record with 49. Like those two former A's stars, Kurtz seems like a lock for the AL Rookie of the Year Award given his .293/.387/.620 slash line through his first 109 games.

Williams went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Friday against the Red Sox.

Williams took Garrett Crochet deep for a solo home run in the fourth inning, his second long ball in as many games. He has struggled for long portions of his first stint in the majors, fueled primarily by a 36.7 percent strikeout rate across 79 plate appearances. However, Williams has a modest three-game hitting streak and has struck out only twice across his last 11 plate appearances.
