Guerrero (hamstring) made a pinch-hit appearance in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Marlins, popping out in his lone at-bat in the eighth inning.

After not appearing in any of the Blue Jays' previous four games due to left hamstring inflammation, Guerrero was summoned from the bench in a high-leverage spot, stepping into the batter's box with two outs and two runners on base with Toronto down two runs. Though he wasn't able to come through in the clutch, Guerrero's usage Sunday offers hope that he'll be able to avoid a stint on the injured list. Guerrero may not be ready to play first base right away, but the Blue Jays could deploy him at designated hitter in Monday's series opener versus the Twins.

Single-A Charleston placed Gillen on the 7-day injured list Aug. 16 due to an unspecified injury.

A 19-year-old outfielder, Gillen has submitted an impressive debut campaign in full-season ball, slashing .267/.433/.387 with 36 stolen bases in 39 attempts and a 20.8 percent walk rate. The Rays haven't indicated whether Gillen has any chance of playing again in 2025, but he's likely done enough during his time at Charleston to earn a bump up to High-A Bowling Green next season.

Guerrero (undisclosed) has gone 5-for-14 with two doubles, one walk, three RBI and two runs in three games since being reinstated from Single-A Charleston's 7-day injured list Wednesday.

Guerrero hadn't played for Charleston in more than two months before being activated from the IL after making one rehab appearance in the rookie-level Florida Complex League. The 19-year-old outfielder remains one of the Rays' more talented lower-level prospects, but durability issues have caused his stock to take a tumble since he debuted in North America in 2024.

Guerrero (elbow) threw a 25-pitch live batting practice session Aug. 12 and could soon head out on a rehab assignment, MLB.com reports.

Guerrero is eligible to be activated from the 60-day injured list later this week, but he'll need additional time to complete a rehab assignment before making his return to the Boston bullpen. Before landing on the shelf June 28 due to a right elbow strain, Guerrero compiled a 4.15 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 10:14 K:BB in 17.1 innings over 13 appearances.

Schanuel is dealing with a bone bruise on his left wrist, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Schanuel was placed on the 10-day injured list with what was originally described as a left wrist contusion Sunday. The 23-year-old clarified that it is a bone bruise and that he intends on missing the minimum 10 days. The injury originated Aug. 11, when Schanuel was struck in the left wrist by Dodgers starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and it sounds like there's confidence he'll be able to return to full health after some time away.

The Athletics announced Aug. 12 that Medina (elbow) continues to throw off flat ground, but he's not expected to be activated from the 60-day injured list at any point this season, MLB.com reports.

Medina was always facing an uphill battle to pitch for the Athletics in 2025 after undergoing Tommy John surgery Aug. 7, 2024, and while he's seemingly avoided any setbacks in his recovery, he's not moving through his rehab process at a rapid enough pace to have a realistic chance of coming off the IL before season's end. The right-hander should be able to throw off a mound and potentially face hitters by the time the season wraps up, so he may be free of any restrictions by the time spring training gets underway next February.

Wilson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a second RBI and two total runs scored in Sunday's 11-4 loss to the Mariners.

Wilson looked sharp at the plate after missing four weeks due to a forearm fracture, going 5-for-12 with two extra-base hits and three RBI over three games against the Mariners this weekend. The shortstop has reclaimed his starting role and is likely to stay there as long as he remains healthy. He's up to 11 homers, 48 RBI, 49 runs scored, five stolen bases and a .315/.356/.449 slash line over 97 contests this season.

The Athletics announced Aug. 12 that Holman (finger/shoulder) has advanced to gripping drills and is building toward a throwing progression, MLB.com reports.

Holman has been stuck on the injured list since June 19, and though he's no longer shut down from activity, he remains without a clear timeline for a return. The reliever was initially placed on the shelf due to rotator cuff tendinitis in his right shoulder, but the Athletics are now classifying his injury as a strained right middle finger.

Polanco went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and two runs scored in Sunday's 11-4 win over the Athletics.

Polanco picked up his first steal since Aug. 6 versus the White Sox. The infielder is up to six steals on eight attempts this season, his most thefts in any of the last four years. He's added a .247/.314/.444 slash line with 19 home runs, 55 RBI, 47 runs scored and 15 doubles. Polanco is batting just .228 (13-for-57) with three extra-base hits over 18 contests this month.

Lopez experienced forearm tightness during his start in Sunday's 11-4 loss to the Mariners, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Lopez was lit up for nine earned runs on six hits and six walks while striking out two batters across two-plus innings before being removed from the contest after tossing just 65 pitches. The left-hander had given up 10 total runs (nine earned) over his last seven starts prior to Sunday's contest, so the forearm injury provides an explanation behind his immense struggles in Seattle. Manager Mark Kotsay said that Lopez will be re-evaluated Monday, but considering the early diagnosis along with the fact that the southpaw previously required Tommy John surgery in 2021, the 27-year-old is most likely headed to the injured list.
