Martin picked up the save during Tuesday's extra-innings win against the Red Sox, pitching a perfect 11th inning.

Martin was the sixth Orioles reliever to pitch in the contest, but an RBI groundout by Samuel Basallo in the top of the 11th frame opened up a save chance for the 29-year-old pitcher. Baltimore's closing job appears to be wide open without Felix Bautista (shoulder), who's out for the season. Keegan Akin has blown his last two save chances and pitched the sixth and seventh innings Tuesday, Yaramil Hiraldo blew a save Tuesday and both Dietrich Enns and Yennier Cano have been shaky lately. Outside of a six-run outing against Philadelphia on Aug. 4, Martin has a 1.54 ERA and 15:5 K:BB across 11.2 innings, which could be enough to earn save chances in the closing weeks of the regular season.

The Angels outrighted Brogdon to Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday.

Brogdon has the ability to decline the outright assignment and elect free agency if he wants, but it's unclear what his plans are. The righty reliever posted a 5.30 ERA and 33:16 K:BB over 37.1 innings for the Angels before exiting the 40-man roster.

Scherzer (2-4) got the win Tuesday over the Pirates, allowing one run on four hits and three walks while striking out four in six innings.

Scherzer's control was a little shaky, as he issued three walks for the second time in his past three outings, but he was able to limit the damage in crucial situations. Tuesday's outing was a fifth straight quality start for Scherzer, though he hasn't topped five strikeouts since he punched out 11 on July 27. During his streak of quality starts, Scherzer has posted a 2.25 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 28:7 K:BB in 32 innings. He lines up for a home start versus Minnesota to open up next week.

Lowe started at designated hitter and went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-innings loss to Baltimore.

Lowe endeared himself to the Fenway Faithful by launching a game-tying, two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to set up extra innings. The heroism, however, was short-lived, as the Red Sox subsequently failed to produce a run on bases-loaded situations later in the ninth, and then again in the 10th. In total, the Red Sox were 0-for-13 with runners in scoring position. Lowe's served as a pinch hitter and DH since being added to the roster Monday. Eventually, he's expected to become the primary first baseman against right-handers.

Straw went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, two steals and a run scored in Tuesday's win over the Pirates.

Straw is now up to 11 steals for the season and he has six hits in his last three games, with three of those knocks going for extra bases. Straw's .263 average and .675 OPS are both his best marks since he played a career-high 158 games in 2021, but there's not a clear path to playing time with Daulton Varsho and now George Springer back in the fold in the outfield.

Kirk went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and one additional RBI in Tuesday's win over the Pirates.

Kirk continued his power-hitting ways Tuesday with his third home run in his last four games after he hadn't left the yard previously since June 19. Kirk has driven in eight runs over his mini power surge and has reached double-digit long balls for the second time in his career. The 26-year-old backstop is slashing .296/.355/.416 with 56 RBI, 33 runs, a steal and a 34:40 BB:K in 397 plate appearances this season.

Springer went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, a steal and two runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Pirates.

Springer reached and scored in the first inning, and he followed that up with a two-run homer off Mitch Keller in the second. The big blast gives Springer 20 for the year, and he's now reached that mark in nine of his 12 major-league seasons. Springer was seeing the ball very well before landing on the injured list July 28 and he's picked up right where he left off with two homers and five runs scored in four games since returning.

Pederson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to Kansas City.

Pederson went deep in the fourth inning to give Texas a 2-1 lead. The homer was his third in 21 games since he returned from a hand injury in late July. It's been a forgettable season for the slugger, who opened 2025 with an epic slump (.052 average over his first 20 games) and never recovered. Prior to the injury, Pederson was batting .131, and since his return, he's batting .196.

Seager went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Royals. He was also hit by a pitch.

Seager gave the Rangers an early lead with a first-inning homer. It was the second in three games and 19th of the season for Seager. He's gone 6-for-12 during a three-game hit streak that followed an 0-for-15 stretch.

Martinez started in center field and went 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to Arizona.

Martinez, who made his second start in the last five games, has experienced a dip in playing time due to the recent promotion of prospect C.J. Kayfus. Martinez's sputtering bat may limit his plate appearances further going forward. Tuesday's multi-hit effort was his first since July 22; he entered the game with a .111/.211/.175 slash line along with two extra-base hits and two RBI over the previous 20 contests.
