Wesneski (3-1) earned the win against the Athletics on Friday, allowing one hit and three walks while striking out four in five scoreless innings.

Wesneski kept the Athletics off the board over five solid innings, generating 14 swinging strikes while throwing a season-high 91 pitches. It was a nice rebound after the 28-year-old allowed five runs Saturday, and he's allowed three earned runs or fewer while working five-plus frames in each of his four other starts since making his season debut July 29. He'll carry a 4.23 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 22:10 K:BB across 27.2 innings this season into a road matchup with the Mets next week.

Beavers went 1-for-3 with a solo home run during the Orioles' 5-3 win over the Rays on Friday.

Beavers helped the Orioles respond to the Rays' three-run second inning with a solo homer off Freddy Peralta in the bottom of the frame. Beavers has smacked a solo homer in three consecutive games, and four of his six long balls on the year have come over his last nine outings. He has a .769 OPS with one steal and nine RBI across 50 plate appearances in August.

Alonso went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI during the Orioles' 5-3 win over the Rays on Friday.

Alonso got the Orioles on the board early with an RBI single in the first inning before giving Baltimore the lead for good with a two-run homer off Freddy Peralta in the fifth. It was the 30th home run of the season for Alonso, who has reached that mark in six consecutive years and seven times in eight major-league seasons, the exception being the 2020 campaign, when he clubbed 16 homers across 57 regular-season games. Since the All-Star break, Alonso is slashing .325/.407/.593 with three steals, nine home runs and 20 RBI over 140 plate appearances.

Rogers (9-8) came away with the win against the Rays on Friday, allowing three runs on six hits and one walk while striking out six across seven innings.

All three of the runs Rogers gave up came in the second inning, highlighted by a two-run homer by Kenny Piper. Rogers kept the Rays off the board the rest of the way, tossing 103 pitches (75 strikes) while generating 14 whiffs and nine groundouts. It was the fourth time this season that he completed seven frames and his 12th quality start of the year, nine of which have come over his last 12 outings. Rogers will take a 4.14 ERA and 1.24 WHIP over 132.2 innings into his next start, lined up for next week on the road against the Cardinals.

Chapman collected the save in Boston's 6-4 win over San Francisco on Friday, allowing one walk while striking out three batters in a scoreless ninth inning.

Chapman was brought out for the ninth frame for his first save chance since Aug. 1 against the Dodgers. His walk to Buddy Kennedy was Chapman's only blemish, as he got the other batters he faced to strike out swinging, the fourth time that the veteran southpaw has logged three strikeouts in an outing. It was only the second save that Chapman has recorded in August, but his 28 saves on the year are tied with Louis Varland and Jhoan Duran for sixth-most in the majors. Chapman sports a 1.90 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 65:8 K:BB over 46.1 innings this season.

Contreras went 1-for-2 with two walks and a three-run homer during the Red Sox's 6-4 win over the Giants on Friday.

Contreras got the Red Sox on the board in a big way with a two-out, three-run long ball over the Green Monster, sparking the Red Sox's five-run third inning. The veteran first baseman has already surpassed his career high in homers and is two RBI shy from matching his career best of 80 that he set in 2025 as a member of the Cardinals. Contreras' .937 OPS (across 483 plate appearances) is third-best among qualified hitters in the majors this season behind Yordan Alvarez (1.048) and Shohei Ohtani (.942).

Gray (16-3) earned the win against the Giants on Friday, allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out six across six innings.

Gray didn't have his best stuff in Friday's outing, which was marred by a three-run fourth inning in which he gave up back-to-back homers to Drew Gilbert and Rafael Devers. However, Gray was able to complete six innings for a fifth consecutive start and received enough run support from his Red Sox teammates to log his 16th win of the season, which is tied with Cristopher Sanchez for most in the majors. Gray will take a 2.79 ERA and 1.16 WHIP (over 138.2 innings) into his next start, which is lined up for next week on the road against the Marlins.

Manager Dan Wilson said Friday that Woo (shoulder) will not start during Seattle's weekend series against the Cubs, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Woo was removed from his most recent start Sunday against Houston after feeling soreness in his right shoulder, and although he was able to throw his normal between-starts bullpen session Thursday, the M's are still going to give the 26-year-old some extra time to recover. Wilson noted that he's optimistic Woo won't have to spend time on the injured list, though it's unknown when his next start will be. Kade Anderson will come up from Double-A to make his MLB debut Saturday, and Bryce Miller will move up in the rotation to start Sunday's series finale.

The Mariners optioned Davila to Triple-A Tacoma on Friday.

Davila has given up four runs (three earned) in 3.2 innings since coming up from Triple-A on Aug. 7. Now sporting a 4.10 ERA and 1.22 WHIP across 26.1 major-league innings on the season, the 27-year-old will head back to the minors to make room for Carlos Vargas (lat), who returned from the IL in a corresponding move. Davila could still return to make a few more appearances down the stretch for Seattle whenever the big club needs fresh bullpen depth.

The Mariners transferred Brash (lat) to the 60-day injured list Friday.

Brash has been on the injured list since June 10 with a strained right lat, so while his move to the 60-day IL will create a 40-man roster spot for Carlos Vargas (lat), it won't affect Brash's return timeline. The 28-year-old righty began throwing off a mound last weekend and is trending toward returning to Seattle's bullpen sometime in early September.
