Melton will start Monday's series opener against the Diamondbacks in Detroit, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Melton had been lined up to make his second career start Tuesday, but he'll end up being pushed up a day after Casey Mize needed a little extra time to recover from a minor knee issue. Despite surrendered six earned runs on seven hits and two walks over five frames in his major-league debut against the Pirates last Wednesday, Melton looks set to maintain a spot in the rotation over Keider Montero, who was optioned to Triple-A Toledo earlier in the weekend.

Chapman was removed in the eighth inning during his relief appearance in Sunday's game against the Dodgers due to an apparent injury, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

After entering the game in the top of the eighth, Chapman walked the first two batters he faced, then induced a Shohei Ohtani flyball for the first out of the inning. The Red Sox sent a trainer out to visit with Chapman following that at-bat, and manager Alex Cora then made the decision to pull the right-hander from the game. Though the nature of Chapman's injury likely won't be clarified until after the contest, he sported a four-seam fastball that averaged just 94.6 miles per hour on the afternoon, about four ticks below his season average.

Ober (hip) is likely to return from the 15-day injured list to make his next start with the Twins sometime this week, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

The right-hander made his second rehab start with Triple-A St. Paul on Friday and allowed one run across five innings while building up to 65 pitches, setting him up to rejoin Minnesota's rotation. Ober has been sidelined nearly a month due to a hip impingement and could have some minor workload limitations in his first outing back in the majors. The 30-year-old struggled in his last five starts before landing on the shelf with a 9.00 ERA and 14 home runs allowed over 30 innings.

Raley is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.

The left-handed-hitting Raley will hit the bench for the fourth game in a row, with Seattle having faced two left-handed and two right-handed starters during that stretch. Raley had previously been holding down a strong-side platoon role, but his opportunities to play against righties will likely be more limited moving forward after Seattle acquired Josh Naylor on Thursday.

O'Hoppe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.

Travis d'Arnaud will step in behind the dish while O'Hoppe rests after starting at catcher in both of the previous two contests. O'Hoppe has been wielding a hot bat coming out of the All-Star break, going 10-for-25 with a solo home run, a stolen base and two additional runs through his first seven games.

Moncada (hand) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.

Moncada is nursing a right hand contusion after he was knocked out of Saturday's 7-2 loss when he was struck by a pitch. Fortunately for Moncada, X-rays came back negative, so the Angels are optimistic that he'll be able to return to the lineup after getting at least one day off. Kevin Newman will spell Moncada at third base Sunday.

Tellez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta.

The left-handed-hitting Tellez had started at first base in each of the Rangers' previous four matchups against right-handed pitchers, but he'll hit the bench Sunday against Atlanta righty Bryce Elder. With the Rangers getting another left-handed bat in Joc Pederson (hand) back from the injured list Sunday, Tellez may have lost hold of his strong-side platoon role.

Higashioka (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta.

Higashioka will be on the bench for a fourth consecutive game while he tends to what manager Bruce Bochy has called "half of a Grade 1" right hamstring strain, according to MLB.com. Jonah Heim will once again get the nod behind the plate, though Bochy expressed optimism that Higashioka will be able to pinch hit Sunday, if needed, per Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News.

Diaz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Diaz will get a breather after starting behind the plate the previous two nights. Victor Caratini will handle catching duties Sunday.

Matthews is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Matthews will hit the bench for the second time in the series while he's gone just 1-for-12 with seven strikeouts over his last four games. With Matthews out of the lineup, Jose Altuve will fill in at the keystone, while Cooper Hummel picks up a start in left field.
