The Astros optioned Burrows to Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Burrows tied a season worst with seven earned runs allowed Monday against the Nationals, giving him a 6.84 ERA and 5.9 K/9 across his past 10 appearances. The right-hander was acquired from the Pirates during the offseason after posting a 3.94 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 97:31 K:BB over 96 innings during 2025, but he'll likely need to get back on track at Sugar Land before getting another look in the Astros' rotation.

Langeliers (thumb) will start at catcher and bat third in Tuesday's contest versus the Tigers.

Langeliers missed the last two games while dealing with a left thumb contusion, but he's ready to roll following the team off day Monday. He and his teammates will be taking on southpaw Tarik Skubal in the series opener.

The White Sox announced Saturday that Berroa (elbow) will start throwing again in 1-to-2 weeks, MLB.com reports.

After recovering from his March 7, 2025 Tommy John surgery, Berroa began a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on May 13 but threw just four pitches in that appearance before being shut down due to right elbow inflammation. The 26-year-old has seemingly responded well to treating the injury with rest and rehab over the past two months and will soon begin ramping up his throwing. Berroa is unlikely to be an option for the White Sox bullpen until August.

Jobe (elbow) is beginning a rehab assignment with Single-A Lakeland on Tuesday, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander progressed to facing live batters the past couple weeks and has now been cleared to pitch in games. Jobe is working his way back from the Tommy John surgery he underwent in June of 2025, so it's sure to be a lengthy rehab assignment before he's deemed ready for his season debut with the Tigers.

Montgomery is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox.

Montgomery had made 15 consecutive starts, so he will be given a routine day of rest in Tuesday's series opener. Junior Perez will grab a start in right field in Montgomery's stead.

The Athletics optioned Serven to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old was called up by the A's on Saturday with Shea Langeliers (thumb) banged up, but the latter is apparently feeling well enough for the big club to move forward with two catchers on the roster. Serven went 1-for-4 with a strikeout in his lone appearance in the majors. He'll now return to Las Vegas, where he has an .897 OPS with seven homers in 53 games this year.

The Athletics recalled Lopez from Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.

The left-hander was a rotation piece for the A's early this season, but he was optioned to Triple-A in early June after posting a 6.75 ERA, 1.84 WHIP and 38:33 K:BB across 50.1 innings. Lopez struggled in his first two starts with Las Vegas but rebounded by allowing just one run across 11.1 frames in his last two outings. He's likely to be available out of the bullpen, at least initially.

Akin will receive a second opinion on his injured left elbow from Dr. Keith Meister next week, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Akin landed on the 15-day injured list in late June with soreness in his pitching elbow. It seems he could be looking at an extended absence, but more will be known following his visit with Dr. Meister.

The Athletics reinstated Wilson (thumb) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

The 24-year-old shortstop has been on the shelf nearly two weeks due to right thumb inflammation, and it's a bit of a surprise he's returning so quickly given that it was recently reported by MLB.com that he hadn't been swinging a bat since landing on the IL. Wilson is apparently good to go, however, and should reclaim the starting job at shortstop now that he's healthy. Through 50 games this season, he has a .277/.310/.386 slash line with four home runs, two steals, 26 RBI and 23 runs in 214 plate appearances.

Helsley will solicit a second opinion on his injured right elbow, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

The Orioles have not revealed the initial prognosis, but Helsley will seek out another evaluation before making a decision as to the next course of action. Helsley missed seven weeks of action with right elbow inflammation earlier this season and landed back on the IL this past Friday with more elbow trouble. The Orioles could have more information on Helsley's status later this week. Tyler Wells has notched two straight saves for Baltimore since Helsley was injured.
