Jack Kochanowicz SP | LAA
Angels' Jack Kochanowicz: Lands on IL with elbow inflammation
The Angels placed Kochanowicz on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to right elbow inflammation.
Kochanowicz acknowledged Saturday that he felt "something in his elbow" during his last three starts, per Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register. He'll undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury and establish a recovery timeline, but given that it's an elbow issue, it wouldn't be surprising for Kochanowicz to remain on the IL well past the 15-day minimum. Sam Aldegheri was recalled form Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding move, but Caden Dana and George Klassen are candidates to enter the Los Angeles rotation in Kochanowicz's absence, per Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com.

Samuel Aldegheri SP | LAA
Angels' Sam Aldegheri: Recalled by Halos
The Angels recalled Aldegheri from Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday.
The move corresponds with the Angels placing right-hander Jack Kochanowicz on the 15-day injured list due to right elbow inflammation. Aldegheri has spent the majority of 2026 in Triple-A, where he has a 3-4 record in nine starts with a 7.24 ERA, 1.72 WHIP and 32:23 K:BB across 46 innings. He's appeared in three major-league games for the Angels this year, most recently working Tuesday against the Rockies and tossing 5.1 scoreless innings while allowing four hits and two walks with five strikeouts. Even with Kochanowicz shelved, Aldegheri is not guaranteed to join the rotation, with Caden Dana and George Klassen also in the mix for spot starts, per Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com.

Blue Jays' Max Scherzer: On track to start Wednesday
Scherzer (forearm) threw a bullpen session Sunday and expressed confidence that he would be available to pitch against the Phillies on Wednesday, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.
"[I] checked a lot of boxes, and recovered well... I can tell you I'm good. Yeah, I'll be able to go Wednesday," Scherzer noted after Sunday's bullpen session. He landed on the 15-day injured list in late April due to right forearm tendinitis and left ankle inflammation and was also dealing with a right thumb issue during his recovery. The Blue Jays are also expecting Dylan Cease (hamstring) to return from the IL in the coming week, giving the team a much-needed boost to its rotation.

Angels' Vaughn Grissom: Not in Sunday's lineup

It'll be the third game in a row that Grissom is not in the lineup due to left side tightness. Oswald Peraza will start at second base and bat out of the cleanup spot in Sunday's series finale.

However, the veteran right-hander expressed confidence Saturday that he'll be ready to be reinstated from the IL when eligible June 12. Jansen (pelvis) will make a rehab appearance for Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
