  • Bryan Baker RP | TB

Rays' Bryan Baker: Notches 19th save

Baker struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his 19th save of the season in a 5-2 win over the Nationals.

The right-hander is 19-for-22 in converting save chances on the year, an impressive showing for a pitcher who came into 2026 with four career saves and 11 blown saves over the prior four seasons combined while primarily working in middle relief or a setup role. Baker hasn't been charged with a run in 11 straight appearances, delivering a 0.64 WHIP and 10:3 K:BB in 11 innings over that stingy stretch to lower his ERA on the campaign to 1.84.

  • Rangers' Alejandro Osuna: Makes fifth straight start

Osuna started in left field and went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Friday's 9-7 win over San Diego.

Osuna had a two-run double in the bottom of the first inning, as the Rangers scored six times to overcome the five runs the Padres scored in the top of the frame. The left-handed hitter has started all five games since being recalled earlier this week, playing left field and center field. His run of playing time is the result of Evan Carter (oblique) landing on the injured list, and Osuna could be a regular against right-handed starters.

  • Griffin Jax RP | TB

Rays' Griffin Jax: Nabs second win

Jax (2-5) picked up the win Friday, giving up two runs on four hits in five innings during a 5-2 victory over the Nationals. He struck out five without walking a batter.

The right-hander sevrved up solo shots to CJ Abrams in the second inning and Luis Garcia in the third, but Jax otherwise kept Washington's hitters at bay over 69 pitches (47 strikes) as he collected his first win since April 18. He's lasted five innings in three straight starts as he continues his adjustment to a rotation role, but as of yet he hasn't recorded an out in the sixth inning in any of his 10 starts this season or thrown more than 72 pitches, usage which limits his fantasy appeal. Jax will take a 3.67 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 46:18 K:BB through 49 innings into his next outing, which is set to come at home next week against the Royals.

  • Chase Meidroth 2B | CHW

White Sox's Chase Meidroth: Getting rest Saturday

Meidroth isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers.

The White Sox will give Meidroth a break Saturday after he went 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts during a loss in Friday's series opener. Sam Antonacci will shift to second base, opening up left field for Randal Grichuk.

  • Junior Perez LF | CHW

White Sox's Junior Perez: Slugs first MLB homer

Perez went 2-for-3 with a solo home run during Friday's loss to the Tigers.

It took just two games for Perez to go deep for the first time in his big-league career, and it came against none other than back-to-back Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal. The 24-year-old Perez is up with the big club to serve as depth with Austin Hays (calf) and Everson Pereira (concussion) both on the injured list and will likely return to the minors once Chicago's outfield unit starts to return to full health.

  • Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Launches three-run homer Friday

O'Hoppe went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run, an additional run scored and a walk in Friday's loss to the Athletics.

O'Hoppe went hitless Thursday in the series opener, but he bounced back admirably Friday with his fourth long ball of the season. This was his fourth multi-hit effort over his last eight games, and the backstop is hitting .341 with two homers and a .924 OPS across 14 games since the beginning of June.

  • Elvis Alvarado RP | ATH

Athletics' Elvis Alvarado: Picks up win in relief

Alvarado (3-1) earned the win in relief Friday against the Angels after tossing two scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out two. He did not issue a walk.

Alvarado pitched the ninth and 10th innings for the A's and delivered excellent results, throwing 13 of his 21 pitches for strikes and only allowing one baserunner. Even though his 5.00 ERA doesn't inspire confidence, a 1.17 WHIP and 3.26 FIP suggest he's been unlucky. Alvarado has four holds, two saves and a 22:7 K:BB across 18 innings in 16 appearances this season. Since returning to the majors June 6, he's posted a 1.08 ERA with 13 strikeouts and no walks across six outings and 8.1 innings.

  • Athletics' Jeffrey Springs: Lasts 3.2 frames in no-decision

Springs didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Angels after allowing six runs on four hits and four walks across 3.2 innings. He struck out four.

Springs couldn't get out of the fourth inning, marking the third time over his last four outings that he hasn't pitched more than four frames. Springs has a 9.70 ERA and 1.88 WHIP over his last five appearances dating back to May 27, so it's hard to trust him right now. Springs is slated to make his next start on the road against the Giants.

  • Erick Fedde SP | CHW

White Sox's Erick Fedde: Fans four during loss

Fedde (2-6) took the loss Friday, giving up two earned runs on four hits and a walk while striking out four batters across 4.2 innings in long relief.

Fedde entered the game during the second inning with Chicago already trailing 2-1 and was able to keep the Tigers off the scoreboard for four innings while the White Sox's offense put up a run in the fifth to tie the game before taking a 3-2 lead in the top of the sixth. That lead was short-lived, however, as Fedde gave up a leadoff single to Dillon Dingler to begin the next half inning and walked Riley Greene before Kerry Carpenter scored both runners on a double. Despite Friday's result, Fedde has remained fairly reliable since the start of June, posting a 1.56 ERA and 1.10 WHIP alongside a 14:4 K:BB over 17.1 innings across his last four outings. He's tentatively scheduled to make his next appearance against a Guardians lineup that's posted just a .620 OPS across its last 10 games.

  • Jose Soriano SP | LAA

Angels' Jose Soriano: Fans six in no-decision

Soriano didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Athletics after allowing four runs on six hits and four walks across five innings. He struck out six.

Soriano was one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball in the first weeks of the regular season and posted a 0.24 ERA in his first six starts. However, regression was inevitable, and it has hit him hard. Since the beginning of May, Soriano owns a 4.93 ERA and 1.56 WHIP across nine starts and 49.1 innings, allowing four or more runs four times. He has a 4.35 ERA in June with a 20:15 K:BB, but he'll aim to bounce back in his next start, which is projected against the Orioles at home.
