Dustin Harris LF | SD
Rangers' Dustin Harris: Receives call to majors
The Rangers recalled Harris from Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday.
Harris will give Texas some extra coverage in the outfield while Wyatt Langford (oblique) is on the injured list, though the 25-year-old won't necessarily be a direct replacement for Langford in the everyday lineup. Kevin Pillar will draw the start in left field in Wednesday's game against the Cubs, and he, Harris, Josh Smith and Ezequiel Duran could all be in the mix for playing time while Langford is out. Harris received a brief cup of coffee with the Rangers last September but otherwise spent the entire 2024 campaign at Round Rock, with whom he slashed .272/.355/.391 with 10 home runs and 35 stolen bases across 562 plate appearances.

Jonathan Ornelas 2B | MIL
Rangers' Jonathan Ornelas: Optioned to Triple-A
The Rangers optioned Ornelas to Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Ornelas was recalled in late March but played sparingly, making just one start. Ezequiel Duran and Dustin Harris have joined the big club as Ornelas goes down and Wyatt Langford (oblique) lands on the injured list.

Wyatt Langford LF | TEX
Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Placed on IL with strained oblique
The Rangers placed Langford on the 10-day injured list Wednesday due to a right oblique strain.
Langford's oblique tightened up on him during Tuesday's loss to the Cubs, and an MRI showed enough damage that a trip to the IL was warranted. According to Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News, manager Bruce Bochy said Langford felt "pretty good" when he reported to the clubhouse Wednesday, but it's not yet clear how long the young outfielder might be sidelined. Kevin Pillar will start in left field for the Rangers on Wednesday and could see an expanded role while Langford is out. Josh Smith, Dustin Harris and Ezequiel Duran will also be in the mix for starts in left field.

Joc Pederson DH | TEX
Rangers' Joc Pederson: Idle against southpaw
Pederson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.
Pederson will take a seat for the second time in the series while the Cubs send another lefty (Shota Imanaga) to the mound. With Pederson on the bench, Jonah Heim will get a day off from catching duties and will serve as the Rangers' designated hitter.

Josh H. Smith LF | TOR
Rangers' Josh Smith: Back to bench Wednesday
Smith is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.
The Cubs are sending a tough southpaw (Shota Imanaga) to the hill for the series finale, so the lefty-hitting Smith will retreat to the bench. Though Smith no longer has a path to regular playing time at third base with Josh Jung (neck) returning from the injured list earlier this week, Smith could see action in left field if Wyatt Langford requires a stint on the IL after tweaking his oblique Tuesday.

Wyatt Langford LF | TEX
Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Absent from Wednesday's lineup
Langford (oblique) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.
Langford was removed from Tuesday's 10-6 loss with right oblique tightness. The Rangers haven't provided an update from the MRI that Langford underwent on his side, so it's not yet known whether he'll require a trip to the injured list. Kevin Pillar will start in left field and bat seventh for the Rangers on Wednesday.

Colin Selby RP | BAL
Orioles' Colin Selby: Brought up to big leagues
The Orioles recalled Selby from Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday.
Selby has made 26 appearances at the big-league level over the previous two seasons, collecting a 7.55 ERA and 35:19 K:BB over 31 frames. The right-hander tossed three scoreless innings in his first three outings with Norfolk and will provide manager Brandon Hyde with a fresh bullpen arm.
