The Guardians optioned Allen to Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday.

Allen saved the Guardians' bullpen by recording seven strikeouts and allowing just two unearned runs allowed over four innings Monday versus the Nationals. He threw 83 pitches in the appearance, so Allen is being replaced by a fresh bullpen arm in Will Dion.

Bellinger went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 4-3 victory over the Royals on Monday.

Bellinger put New York on the board with a 403-foot solo shot in the second inning. The long ball extended his on-base streak to eight games, a span during which he has a 1.123 OPS with two homers, two doubles, six runs, three RBI and a 6:3 BB:K. Overall, Bellinger is slashing .274/.379/.484 with seven home runs, 33 runs, 33 RBI and five stolen bases across 53 contests on the campaign.

The Rays signed Kimbrel to a one-year contract Tuesday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Kimbrel elected free agency Monday after being removed from the Mets' 40-man roster, and he's managed to quickly land another major-league contract. Slated to turn 38 on Thursday, Kimbrel posted a 6.00 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 15:6 K:BB over 15 innings with the Mets. The Rays are often able to work magic with pitchers and see something with Kimbrel they might be able to tap into, but he's nevertheless a long shot to produce fantasy value in Tampa Bay.

Perkins allowed two runs on three hits and no walks while striking out seven over 4.2 innings in Monday's 9-2 loss against the Mariners.

Relieving starter Aaron Civale, Perkins entered in the fifth inning and provided excellent length in a lopsided contest, though he eventually ran out of steam after surrendering a two-run homer to Randy Arozarena in the ninth frame. Perkins had previously been used in multi-inning relief appearances this season but hadn't exceeded 2.1 innings before Monday, while his seven strikeouts also established a season high. Overall, the right-hander owns a 2-2 record with a 5.04 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 31:5 K:BB while converting three of five save opportunities, with his most recent save coming April 30.

Perez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional run scored and a walk in Monday's loss to the Yankees.

Perez tied the game with a 107.3 mph solo missile off Will Warren in the sixth inning, and the Royals later took the lead in the eighth frame on a Bobby Witt homer, though a bullpen implosion ultimately kept the club out of the win column. Perez has struggled overall, hitting .215 with a .638 OPS, nine homers, 25 RBI and 21 runs across 52 games, but he has swung the bat much better of late. Over his past 11 contests, the veteran slugger is slashing .308/.378/.538 with three homers, seven RBI and six runs.

Scholtens was charged with a blown save and dropped to 5-3 on the season in Monday's 9-7 loss to the Orioles in 13 innings after yielding five runs (three earned) on four hits across 1.1 frames. He struck out one batter.

Monday marked the shortest outing of the season for Scholtens, who had covered at least three innings in each of his previous eight appearances while serving as a starter or bulk reliever. He entered the game in the bottom of the 12th and was unable to protect the Rays' one-run lead, as Colton Cowser began the inning at second base and then came around to score on a fielder's choice. Scholtens then took a two-run lead into the bottom of the 13th, but after the Orioles tied the game on an RBI double and sacrifice fly, the right-hander surrendered a two-run walk-off home run to Cowser. With the Rays recently getting Steven Matz back from the injured list to fill out their rotation, Scholtens appears set to handle a more traditional bullpen role moving forward.

Through his first 41 games of the season, Cowser had left the yard just once, but he's now delivered two walk-off home runs in the Orioles' last three games. After slugging a three-run blast in the bottom of the ninth during the Orioles' 5-3 win in the first game of a doubleheader with the Tigers on Sunday, Cowser delivered the theatrics again Monday, breaking a 7-7 tie with a 425-foot blast to right center off Jesse Scholtens in the bottom of the 13th. The 26-year-old is still holding down a mediocre .200/.287/.316 slash line on the season, but he appears to have moved back into a strong-side platoon role in the Baltimore outfield following Dylan Beavers' (oblique) recent move to the injured list.

Mastrobuoni (calf) began a rehab assignment Monday with the Mariners' Arizona Complex League affiliate, going 0-for-2 with a 1:1 K:BB.

It was his first game action in more than four weeks, as he is working his way back from a right calf strain. The utility player should move up to a higher affiliate soon and is tracking toward a return in early June.

Miles is slated to work as a bulk reliever in Tuesday's game versus the Marlins, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.

Braydon Fisher will serve as the Blue Jays' opener before handing things off to Miles. The 25-year-old's last three appearances have been either as a traditional starter or primary pitcher, and he's tossed 11 scoreless innings with a 13:3 K:BB over 11 innings during that stretch. Miles went 4.1 frames and threw 63 pitches his last time out, so he should be capable of stretching out to around 80 pitches Tuesday.

Athletics manager Mark Kotsay said Monday that Civale will undergo testing Tuesday for a right shoulder/lat issue and will "likely" go on the 15-day injured list, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Civale was rocked for seven runs over four innings while showing diminished velocity in Monday's loss to the Mariners. The right-hander revealed that "it's something I've been working through for a little bit," and that he's not feeling much pain, but "just something's off." More will be known about a potential timetable for Civale after the test results are in. Gage Jump is expected to be called up from Triple-A Las Vegas to take Civale's spot in the Athletics' rotation.
