The Athletics recalled Meneses from Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday.

With Zack Gelof (knee) headed to the 10-day IL, Meneses will provide some depth at first base and in the corner outfield spots. He's taken 18 plate appearances with the Athletics this season, going 2-for-14 with two RBI and three walks. Meneses has a .947 OPS with 12 homers and 80 RBI at Triple-A.

The Athletics placed Gelof on the 10-day injured list Friday with a right knee laceration.

Gelof suffered the injury during Thursday's game against the Tigers, and he'll now be sidelined through the All-Star break. Gelof had just returned from the injured list July 4 after he dealt with a hand laceration. The 26-year-old is in the midst of a career season, slashing .273/.327/.476 with 11 homers, 29 RBI, 41 runs scored, eight stolen bases and a 14:62 BB:K across 247 trips to the plate. Jeff McNeil could see an uptick in playing time while Gelof is sidelined.

Pasquantino (hand) is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Orioles.

Despite being activated from the 10-day injured list earlier in the day, Pasquantino will not be in the starting nine against Baltimore for Friday's series opener. Instead, Salvador Perez will man first base and bat sixth with Nick Loftin hitting eighth and handling DH duties.

Emerson is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Rays.

It appears to be a routine day off for the 20-year-old infielder after making 15 consecutive starts. Emerson is slashing just .206/.282/.404 with seven long balls, 19 RBI, 17 runs scored, three stolen bases and a 13:54 BB:K across his first 156 big-league plate appearances. With Emerson getting the night off, J.P. Crawford is manning shortstop and leading off for the Mariners, while Buddy Kennedy bats ninth and plays third base.

The Twins acquired Nance from the Blue Jays in exchange for Ryan Sprock on Friday, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.com reports.

The Blue Jays will also acquire international bonus pool money as part of the trade. The 35-year-old Nance will help bolster Minnesota's bullpen after he produced a 3.82 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 34:13 K:BB across 33 innings for Toronto during the first half of the season. He was a big part of the Blue Jays' relief mix down the stretch last season, recording a 1.99 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 32:7 K:BB over 31.2 frames during the 2025 regular season.

Dingler (thumb) is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Phillies.

Dingler was removed from Wednesday's game after a foul tip caught him in the thumb. He'll miss a second straight start behind the plate, as Jake Rogers will start at catcher and bat ninth for Detroit. Dingler remains day-to-day headed into the final series before the All-Star break.

Thomas went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to the Mets.

Thomas led off the contest by launching a solo homer to left field off Sean Manaea, his seventh long ball of the campaign. The 30-year-old outfielder has been locked in at the plate of late, slashing .385/.467/.846 with two homers, six doubles, seven RBI and six runs scored during a seven-game hitting streak. With Kyle Isbel (foot) slowed in his rehab, Thomas should continue to see regular playing time in center field while hitting near the top of the Royals' lineup.

A second opinion on Early's injured left elbow confirmed the diagnosis of posterior inflammation, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

It's good news for Early, who was removed early from his June 30 start and placed on the 15-day injured list the following day. The rookie southpaw should be ready to return to the Boston rotation shortly after the All-Star break. Early has posted a 3.44 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 93:34 K:BB across 91.2 innings spanning 17 starts this season.

The Twins activated Jeffers (hand) from the 10-day injured list Friday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Jeffers suffered a fractured left hamate bone May 18 and has missed the last 46 games, but he appears ready to return to the lineup for Friday's series opener against the Angels. Jeffers was on a tear at the plate before going down, slashing .295/.408/.541 with seven homers, 26 RBI, 26 runs scored, one stolen base and a 23:23 BB:K across 148 trips to the dish.

The Royals optioned Misner to Triple-A Omaha on Friday.

Misner is the odd man out on the 26-man roster with Vinnie Pasquantino (hand) back from the injured list Friday. Misner has appeared in 18 games for the Royals this season, slashing .220/.256/.244 with one double, four RBI, two runs scored, three stolen bases and a 2:17 BB:K across 44 trips to the dish.
