The Twins optioned Funderburk to Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday.

Though he's been one of six Twins pitchers to record a save this season and leads the club with six holds, Funderburk will wind up losing his spot in the bullpen as his control continued to slip. He has a 2.81 ERA in 16 innings but a more unsightly 1.38 WHIP and 10:13 K:BB on the season. The Twins recalled left-hander Kendry Rojas from Triple-A to bolster the bullpen.

Hedges went 0-for-2 with a walk in Saturday's 2-1 extra-innings win over the Twins.

Hedges started for the third time in the last four games, but he is expected to shift back to being the top backup after the Guardians acquired Patrick Bailey from the Giants on Saturday. Bo Naylor, who had been the primary catcher, was optioned to Triple-A Columbus in conjunction with the trade. Hedges, who had out-hit Naylor to start the season, will not be given the opportunity to stay atop the depth chart, although he may continue to be the personal catcher for Parker Messick.

Valenzuela is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.

Valenzuela will get a break for the matinee after he started behind the plate in the first two contests of the series. Tyler Heineman will fill in for Valenzuela at catcher and bat ninth.

Narvaez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

It's the second straight game on the bench for Narvaez, who has just one hit (a double) and three walks over his past 16 at-bats. The 27-year-old recently appeared to have taken a firmer hold of Boston's No. 1 catching job by starting five of seven games, but he's now started just two of the past six contests. Mickey Gasper is receiving his second straight nod Sunday, while Connor Wong has also picked up two starts during that six-game stretch.

Bradford (elbow) began throwing from 60 feet during the Rangers' most recent homestand, MLB.com reports

Bradford made one rehab start early in April but was shut down soon after. Now that he's throwing again, the Rangers are estimating he could return by late June.

Baumler (intercostal) has been shut down from his rehab assignment, MLB.com reports.

Baumler made three appearances while on his rehab assignment but experienced a setback and hasn't pitched since April 28. It's unclear when the right-hander will restart a throwing program.

The Orioles recalled Espada from Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday.

The 28-year-old fired a scoreless inning while briefly up with the Orioles in April and will now take the roster spot of Lou Trivino, who was designated for assignment Sunday. Espada has struggled at Norfolk early this year with a 5.68 ERA and 9:12 K:BB over 12.2 innings, so he's likely to be limited to low-leverage work for Baltimore.

Foscue started at first base and went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 6-0 win over the Cubs.

Foscue made a second consecutive start and swatted the first home run of his short MLB career. The infielder has just five hits over 58 at-bats across three short stints in the big leagues, but he's been given a clean slate by new Texas manager Skip Schumaker, per Kennedi Landry of MLB.com. He got the nod at second base Friday and had an RBI single, and the keystone is an unsettled spot in the lineup given the struggles Josh Smith (lower body) has before he landed on the IL. Either Foscue or Ezequiel Duran, who started at second base Saturday, could take hold of the position.

The Orioles designated Trivino for assignment Sunday.

Baltimore signed Trivino to a one-year deal Monday, but he's now been booted off the 40-man roster less than a week later after yielding six earned runs on six hits and three walks over three innings across two relief appearances. The 34-year-old righty is likely to clear waivers, though he'll have the option of electing free agency if he doesn't intend to stick around in the Orioles organization as bullpen depth at Triple-A Norfolk.

The Yankees reinstated Rodon (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to start Sunday's game against the Brewers.

The veteran left-hander opened the season on the shelf while finishing up his rehab from offseason elbow surgery, but he's ready to step into New York's rotation. Rodon made three minor-league rehab appearances and built up to 6.1 innings and 83 pitches during his final outing with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, so any workload restrictions should be minimal in his season debut.
